Its not extreme, the Interstate system was designed for planes to use as runways incase of war. It is literally called the National System of Interstate and Defense Highways for that reason.
I’m glad someone else knows the history and purpose of our Eisenhower Interstate System!
Correct
Yeah, it's no problemo, but the cars and trucks...🤔
😅 Yeah , I tried to tell & explain that to some younger NIM ROD many years ago ! And not only that , But that the very nature of the way our Interstate’s were laid out & made , as well as other major closed access highways that we have been made over the years since Dwight D. can also make RAPID transit routes for heavy military vehicles ( A K A ) TANKS , ARMORED INFANTRY, and other large military implements in case of WAR or EXTREME NATURAL DISAPPEARED… SO NIM ROD thought this older guy was full of SHIT😉‼️
Thank you Lord Jesus for the United States Air Force my uncle Colonel Robert Priest, died a long time ago. He is buried at Arlington national cemetery.
Am liking the 3D printing of parts on scene, so vital to the mission
A10 is awesome!
Hello from Dublin Ireland 🇮🇪 and brilliant video sharing it's totally magnificent very cool
This is a very interesting and educational video! I thank you very much. Hats off to everyone involved in the production and all of the men and women of our armed forces!!!!! 😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤
Simply Amazing & Beautiful 💯🇺🇸🍻🍻🍻
A10 is and will always be the best
C130 Hercules was used in the Battlefield of Vietnam.
In the year of 1968 at the combat base camp Khe Sanh .
Okay…?
Seen them land on the road in northern Michigan
Просто восхищает1👍🙋♂️🇺🇦
7:17 Weak Salute Captain!
im so early keep it up my man i love ur content
that Wyoming HWY where they landed is jut north of Rawlins, Wyoming, I drive that road a lot, they also used an A10 there
Happens to be the same stretch of hwy my 1968 F100 decided to toss it's alternator when I was driving from CA to NY state to relocate to central NY back in 2015. It's the only reason I now Rawlins exist. Lol. Once I found a place that an alternator in stock, it took me 20 minutes to replace it. I had incentive to replace it quickly. I could see hook clouds forming, and twisted was already on the ground in the distance.
I am surprised that certain areas of interstates doesn’t have special marked places for emergency landings. I am not suggesting that they shouldn’t land in places that are not marked. The marked places would be predetermined areas with no power lines and enough shoulder for vehicles to completely free the interstate
0:17 LOL doesn’t that look suspiciously like former Soesterberg airbase 😊
Hi from the Netherlands
US 🇺🇸 Air force 1 is dope
This is standard practice for the Swiss Air Force for decades by now.
And the Swedish Air Force.
Looks to me like there needs more icing on the cake!
One of the requirements in the design of the interstate highway system was that each 20 miles of road had to have at least one perfectly straight one-mile stretch of roadway capable of handling jet fighters.
This is what Eisenhowers interstate was for. Every so mnay miles they had to have a straightaway for so many miles. Works
So do they contact the local authorities about closing the road
Proud To be an American.
here’s a catch 22 if they had to hover to land on a curvy highway 🛣️ ingesting birds to fod’s [foreign object and debris rocks trash] have they figured out how in pinch fix it on the highway. Land a transport plane on a highway like the globe master or their aw so cute 🥰 mini one.
Our hiways arent for civilians we just get to use them. They were made to move tanks and military gear.
If the F35 is expected to land vertical during a combat mission then the mission itself has to be very close otherwise it would not have enough fuel for the landing.
Can I go roller skating with you
🤔
I worked in the 354th while at MBAFB SC in the early to mid 80s. The powers closed the base down because the A-10s weren’t needed anymore….really? They also had a great golf course!!!
Pretty much they moved A-10, to bases in Indiana.
I wish I had an F-35-D
Хорош "бородавочник". Один выстрел из пушки и нет танка. одна очередь из пулемёта и нет авто. Легко управляется женщиной.
Hi. My. US. Air. Force.😊.
👍
Nice video. Too bad Congress and the Air Force is mothballing the A10. A colossal mistake I believe.
That’s because they don’t know better. And they have their heads up their butts.
@@susanwahl6322 Absolutely on both counts!
I've heard they changed their minds and are upgrading the wings and electric warfare package. But love the nasty comments. 🤪
If this is extreme, the Swedes must be extreme beyond belief. They have routinely been landing and taking off from country roads for around 50 years, first with the Saab Viggen, then with Gripen, their current fighter jet. Oh... and so do the Russians with most of their jets.
cool to see how Americans taking after Sweden :)
USA
兇手!
I love u baby
.
What's new? This isn't new! Drug dealers have been landing 4 engine aircraft such as DC-7s on beaches ⛱️ road like these shown for decades! Is the US military playing catch up?
Looks like it, but there is one big problem, Mice, Hercs, and Spartans are designed for dirt strip operation, no so a late model Boeing 787 Dreamliner whose wheel tyre loading is the same as a fully loaded 18 wheeler. Stretches of Motorway(Freeway) three miles long need to be strengthened in order to take a big airliner like the Boeing 787.
Very disappointing, the harrier gr9?? Rafale?
Is that copy the Russians have one too they have one that has four engines two on the bottom two on top the Russian one has a bigger tail things in the back and it can blow up tanks and jets and helicopters check it out exact replica of America copies battleship the Bismarck battle show for the US Coast guard and Navy exact copies I don't know when they get their battle guns ready with the army national guard in it Air Force force it up their way get it the exact replica of a battleship 15 miles away into fire
The USAF A-10,...the world's most beautiful, UGLY plane. :o)
US. AF.🫡
A 10 nice defense u s army flight ✈️😊❤️🇺🇸 better enemy defense
