JAL Cargo Boeing 747 Fleet History (1974-2010)

I didn't have enough time to make a proper 50 subs special, so here's a "sequel" to my most popular FH vid.
こんにちは! Fleet Histories is a series where we take a look at the operational history of aircraft fleets both active and retired. Passenger airliners are normally featured, although freighter and government aircraft will be covered occasionally. This series was inspired by the videos of elmauriplatense, Ibirdball, Scaring Crab, and many other aviation UA-camrs.
Despite somewhat poor sales during its first few years, Japan Airlines recognized the potential of the 747's freighter variants for increased income from cargo services, especially the 747-200F. The first aircraft was delivered in 1974, although large-scale use of the type wasn't frequent until the early-80s. One aircraft became notorious for reporting a UFO sighting over Alaska in 1986. The airline later introduced the more advanced 747-400F in the early-2000's and conducted one of the first BCF conversions for passenger 747-400s. Dedicated freighter services ended in October 2010, although JAL still continues to conduct cargo activity in the cargo decks of their passenger aircraft.

The famous JAL Flight 1628 UFO incident of 1986 and the Die Hard plane in 1993, both in Alaska, the 1993 Flight 46E was operated for JAL Cargo by an Evergreen aircraft on a lease basis. It was literally the plane from Die Hard because this plane was used for the movie Die Hard 2 with Bruce Willis fighting over one of the wings and finally this plane exploded epically.
