I don't think "challenging" is the right word, more like not very playable. It would be easier to drive like this in real life, it was very hard to make FP Driving games before good 3D graphics, and I was born in the 80s. Road Rash pulled it off to an extent, it was a good game but you still had trees and cars sometimes popping in out of nowhere.
@@Cruor34 You pretty much nailed it - sprite-based first person driving games weren't very playable. This is one of the reasons Hard Drivin' and Race Drivin' were so successful - they were the first driving games to feature proper 3D polygon graphics.
@@Cruor34 The first two Chase H.Q games were fair and far more playable, because the collisions felt more consistent. The collisions in this game are spotty, and the very tight time limits are unfair.

Oh nice, you got the version that has the correct frequency for the vocals. The VAs are a treat here (although the first game’s partner VA is still the best IMO).
Yeah, always loved "giddy up boy" :) Also, I definitely prefer Nancy from the first game aswell: really had that CB radio feel to it. It had less engrish jank aswell. (which is perhaps both good and bad :)) Still, the visual flair and over the top-ness of this game is quite awesome though! A pity I never saw in action back then. :(
I refurbished three machines of this game over the years. The board itself is a strange (and complicated) hybrid between the earlier Z and the more powerful F3 System. 🤔
It's Magnum P.I. meets Knight Rider, meets Miami Vice, and The A Team all in one mashup team game. Mr T: I pity the fool if I know how to stop criminal cars the easy way, I put hydraulic tire flatteners in my van as if James Bond did in his cars.
I remember seeing Chase HQ II when I was 7. I wanted to play it so badly because it had a Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo, and that is the car I wanted at the time. Many years later, I'd get to play with the ROMs and emulators, but it wasn't the same. It would have been so amazing to play it it that age. Also, I wanted to play Hard Drivin.
@@charlieg6913 The arcade was definitely better. When playing with MAME, I could see that the arcade machine had much more processing power than the Genesis did. That would explain why it was better.
@@skylinefever Yeah that's definitely true. I actually just watched a couple videos of Hard Drivin arcade and it looks SO much better than the game I had for Genesis. Obviously the console just couldn't do that game justice.
I noticed the suspect on the final Mission is using Nitro; which would explain the sudden speed bursts and the fact; you can hear the nitro being used On these classic Chase H.Q. games, the final Suspect's car is mostly a colour variation of the car you are driving
The next thing you know in this car chase is that the amount of collateral damage caused to stop these criminals are ignored. Too much yeet in this video.
If the car's going to be used for a high speed ramming technique of criminal apprehension, why not reinforce the hood and windshield? Also, the Gangrene Gang :) What is this the Powerpuff Girls
Well that was a fun watch. Be kinda fun if they released a game like this and just kinda kept dropping a handful of tracks every so often for a buck each.
"You've got a FINALY tuned sports car with a custom gear shift with TWO SPEED". 🤣🤣🤣 That is some top notch localization right there! Love it!
Hang on to your hat, I'm switching to SECOND gear!
back to your basement little boy!
It’s a dual supercharger I bet one on a transmission and the engine. Also the cold air intake.
You're only the second person on UA-cam I know of to do a single credit run of this very challenging game. Well done!

Never heard about this one, looks like the best one in the series!
高校生くらいの頃にコレにハマってよく学校近くのゲームセンターに通ってプレイしてました。なかなかハードレベルでどれ程のお金を注ぎ込んだか分からないですが、みんなでクリアした時の喜びは今でも覚えてます。
This is such a brilliant twist on the arcade racing games of the day. Thanks for uploading this because I never heard of this gem before.
I love all the awesome real anime and art works in this! Fantastic graphics! Pure eye candy! 👍👍
Facts it's beautiful those were the days
Strong city hunter/ California Crisis/ Urban Square Vibes
14:00 - What's everyone congratulating that guy for? Blondie is the driver. Other bro just sits in the passenger seat and waits until the chase is done.
It was a DEI police station
Nancy's a cutie, love that late 80's-early 90's anime aesthetic.

You did not notice they were shooting the player? Those aren't ordinary bikers. They're motorcycle rebels.
11:16 Cuz screw this guy in particular.
5:10 A normal day in the USA ... :-)
I remember my brothers playing one of the Chase HQ games on the SNES when we were kids. So many memories.
Nancy has got to be based on Lucy the Sheriff Secretary from Twin Peaks.
So this is the game that inspired the SNES title.
7:46 3x Purple Trailers in screen!!
11:18 can't stop laughing xddd
I must go, my people need me
ahh the mountains of Chicago.. brings back memoires
Don't forget the majestic mountain ridges of New Orleans.
Ah yes the hilly terrain and towering mountains of New Orleans are well represented in this game! 🤣🤣🤣
5:09 Arrest him for stealing that guy's 3DS!
Never saw this one as a kid. A tad chaotic, but totally in line with the arcade stuff out at that time.
Wow I’ve been looking for this for years, I remember playing it about 30+ years ago but never remembered the name. Awesome!

Ahhh the beautiful mountains vistas of New Orleans 😂😂😂😂
That's why they call it the Mile High City.
Нэнси в этой части прям милашка. я думал, что в конце ее похитят, но получилось неплохо и без драматических поворотов.
I was able to play this back in the 90s. I was around 7.🤣
Tailgates and brake lights were extremely combustible before '92. Regulations are much stricter now thanks to the attention this game drew.
The next thing you know in this car chase is that the amount of collateral damage caused to stop these criminals are ignored. Too much yeet in this video.
Not to mention the amount of back and neck problems that hostage experienced from the car being rear-ended so many times. :B
Definitely the BEST way to stop an average store-robbers car xD
This is pure nonsense. I love it!
Did she say Gangrene Gang?!
Taito loves their chase games
Awesome game Play and wonderful game thanks Damon your friend and fan be blessed 💎👑👑👑👑👑👑💎💎💎💎.
The Gangrene Gang?
So, is Grubber driving with Big Billy in the back seat and Lil Arturo riding along in the trunk?
11:16 I'm sure he's fine...
I don't think he's landed yet 😁
NO
Worse off.The player got points for YEETING the poor man into the sky.

So much going on in this game. Crazy.

Porsche 959 icon chase hq
Well that was a fun watch. Be kinda fun if they released a game like this and just kinda kept dropping a handful of tracks every so often for a buck each.
Taito was really obsessed with the Porsche 928, I see...
The previous one had the Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo / Z32 Fairlady TT.
This game reminds me of crusin USA and saga Daytona 500 … wish I discovered this back in the day

What I'm gathering from this is that Columbo got a new car and a partner and he yeeted a man into space
Are there a lot of mountains near New Orleans ?

Not a numbered sequel, but an Arcade sequel nonetheless, it's the third game in the Chase H.Q. series.

It was actually amazing for a 1992 video game.
