- Hey viewers, thank you for joining me as i create a truly one of a kind carbon fiber cowl induction hood for this very special 89 corvette. in this video i will take you through the processes of modeling, forming shaping and finishing a hand layed carbon fiber laminate cowl induction system. keep in mind this is a one of one part so it has to go right the first time every time. i had fun making this and i think you will enjoy it.
recently this corvette went to the dyno and made some great numbers!

That lady purrs
Wow! Awesome job looks great!!!
That looks really good I can't wait to see it on the car
Going on the car today paint will come later need to make sure it works!
Love your videos. I would suggest vacuum bagging something like that (next project), it really improves the smoothness of the lay-up and it actually increases strength. If I ever get my C4 done 'hope to cross paths.
Thanks man. Yeah im slowly getting better equipment and vac bagging is next. If you can get good at hand layed it really improves the skills needed for infusing and vac bagging. Being a payed job i have to do it the quick way. Never perfect but it makes quick prototype parts. Yeah same here my c4 the gray one has many issues
I had no idea how these hoods worked. Looks neat!
Im pretty sure this is the only c4 hood that works like this does!
@@jmpsavescars I just meant any cowl hood. I thought they were designed to pull hot air out, not that it was an intake.
Fiberglass would have worked just as good and not kill your lungs sanding it.
The whole scoop is maybe 2 lbs in glass it would be very heavy to be as rigid as this is at 3/16 thick. It also looks like it was allways there
