they released the song after they weren't allowed into the Eurovision "because their music is not enough radio-friendly" - and "Hurrikan" is basically them showing the German music scene what they think of "radio-friendly" music and where it's place is
For Germans the horror lies in the first half of the song - they did warn for "German Schlager". The music, the setting, costumes, hair, fake tan, even the hand gestures - it's such a perfect parody of the genre. Mia is a former adult actress and a current schlager singer.
The disclaimer at the beginning warned about German schlaga (kind of like pop music). They were told they didn't sound enough like that kind of music, so they made this song in that style, and then killed themselves with zombies, basically giving the middle finger to that part of the music industry. It's a song that's good for the shock value, and then you kind of need the backstory lol.
They did warn you about the terror of the German schlager at the beginning
The first half of this song is making fun of german Schlager music. It's a kind of cheesy pop musik with mostly lovesong context.

I was with my sons this weekend to EC concert. It was amazing and hillarious, but during this short song the audience goes totally NUTS! 🤣The moshpit was like a meatgrinder 😆and the lights were so flashy that would give an epylepsy to a totally healthy person 🙃
Definitely an experience to have on a bucket list. My sons agreed, that even though this was quite extreme, they will go again if this happens anywhere near us (we drove accross two countries to see them) ❤

The mock the German music genre Schlager. You can compare the first half of the song when they on boat with the video of the German schlager star Wendler with his song "egal"
However the lyrics don't fit in. They sang about how disgusting it was when she sat on him yesterday. If you want to discover another more serious song, check out "Parasite".
I try to explain this song to people and need of understanding for what "schlager" music (and that EC lost out with "Pump It" on Eurovision to schlager song) is... basically take the worst things about folk, country, and pop music mix it all up and you have "schlager" 😉🤣
