Poor ole Brian Canterberry wanted to be a bridge painter but could only afford one can of paint. Few people know this but Brian didn't own a boat, he just treaded water while making motor sounds with his mouth. Every time he had to shake the can he would go under. One time while he was shakin and idlin he got water in his breather and the motor died. He went on to that big boat slip in the sky. I think its safe to say he was an inspiration to all who knew him. I really have to get out more
@@michaelapple2753 Actually that's how he got the idea for becoming a bridge painter. As I said Brian didn't own a boat but he didn't like to be alone so he invited people to go with him. They'd wrap their arms around his neck as he treaded water. It wasn't easy to swim with rods, bait, and a buddy, while makin motorboat sounds but Brian wasn't opposed to work. Well the years started catchin up with ole Brian and the charter business had to close. He liked the shade of the bridges and almost never got rained out so that's where the idea of bridge painting came from. I hope this helps explain the life of local legend Brian Canterberry.
One God one Jesus one sport and one Richard Gene, been checking every day for a new video. Thank you again for taking time out to hit the water for us God bless tight lines
Vertical jigging is my favorite way to go after crappie. It'll be spring soon here up North and I'm ready to get out there. Thanks Richard for sharing your adventures.
3 or 4 years ago when I first started tying my own jigs and flys I made two gold and chartreuse jigs after watching you fish with it. Hands down best color for dark clear water. Thanks for everything. You have the best channel on UA-cam.
Every time I watch these videos I pick up on something I didn't catch the time before. Fried fish soup beans corn bread Fried taters with onions man my mouth is watering I got to get to fishin
I know Mr. RICHARD makes it look easy and we all know that it doesn't come easy. But I know and feel in my heart that there is not one thing about fishing the the Fishing Machine can't do!!! Whoooooo...
I watch your videos over and over. Still learning from you. I’m a soon to be retired diesel mechanic and I would love to go fishing with you. God bless you and keep on fishing.
your my crappie fishing machine idle rich ill tell you what your known ledge is truly legendary and has caught me more fish then ever thank you very much and god bless
I gotta get on Guntersville Lake. Only catch my crappie in the spring from the bank not fortunate enough to have a boat yet. Starting slaying them from the bank watching you, thank you Rich.
Man I'd love to come fish and learn from you for a day. Because of watching this channel I've caught more fish than ever in my life (didn't fish much)and I'm on the water every chance I can get. I didn't believe you could catch fish on artificial from the bank and all the fish I've caught so far this year has been from artificial and stringing together techniques that you shown in this videos.
Thank you for all the great information you give each and every one of you videos! Could you do a video on how you launch your boat and when you come back in from fishing? I bought a boat and habe no one to fish with me and help with the boat.
Still ice on the ponds in michigan here but weather suposed to be nice this week so wensday gunna visit the maumee for some walleye still early for that but may get lucky and friday im fixen to get out on the pound and try some of ur crappie techniques.. love the channel found it bout a week ago been hooked
I've been using loop knots for years now. I saw a video recently comparing six different ways to attach a lure to a line. This was a scientific study with moving water is a tank. It concluded that there was no discernible difference in tying the lewer straight to the line as opposed to tying it with a loop knot. They also concluded that the eye of the lure moving inside of the loop can abraid the loop and cause it to fail. I have hadvmy line break inside the loop a least half a dozen times.
Richard : Well, I've only got about an hour to fish. Crappie: OH NO, it's Richard Gene again, I'm just gonna give up now and not put off the inevitable. Nice video, Richard. Thanks a bunch for takin us along with you, buddy. God bless you, brother, for all the helpful hints and tips on locating and fishing. Hope you keep up the great videos for a long time my friend. Till next time, God bless you and your family, my friend.
Some nice crappie for a short trip! How do you fish around these community holes with out ten people on the bank and 7 or 8 boats!! LIVE FOR THE THUMP MY FRIEND! PS, HOW IS MOMMA SUE DOING????
As always great content Richard thank you for another video. May I ask where you are getting that gold and chartreuse jig ? I know you were getting them from Mr Perry and he passed away but I never could make contact with him and I have tried for three years to find some. I can’t even get them from grizzly jig. I would sure appreciate any help on this. Wooo!!!
That’s a real nice setup, but not the rod I’d use under a low-overhead structure. I’ve got a 5 ft Wally Marshall for that. It’s way too easy to slap the rod up against the overhanging concrete.
Hello Mr. Legend himself. I would like to send you some road runner jigs and crappie slayers I made. Also have some grubs and other soft plastics to send to you. Please let me know how I can send them to you.

BWHAHAHAHAHA
🤣
From the looks of it Brian should have been fishing in that spot instead of painting.

Gene, love your channel. Question, how do you know your depths? Do you mark your line or just count the number of seconds in the fall.
Goodun Richard

Where can I get a jig?
IF YOU DON'T MIND ME ASKING, WHAT MODEL FISH FINDER YOU USE?
Good lesson on line.
I wonder if Richard could ask Brian if he would mind if I could come out and fish his spot for awhile 🤔
WOOOOOOOO!!!!
According to name on the bridge..That’s the legendary Brian Canterberry’s fishing hole…
Elmo likes him some Uncle Remus.
🐐🐐🐐 🎣
Great balls of heifer dust!
That’s a real nice setup, but not the rod I’d use under a low-overhead structure. I’ve got a 5 ft Wally Marshall for that. It’s way too easy to slap the rod up against the overhanging concrete.
What is the point of using line leaders, just use all fluorocarbon.
Right. I just us Berkely XL 4lb test with 1/32oz, still casts well and strong enough to land occasional bass
Sensitivity.
You always thank us for everything. Thank you Richard! 🎣
The hi-vis braid is a good visual indicator as well as being sensitive and cost effective
Who wants to replace a twisty mess all the time?
Hello Mr. Legend himself. I would like to send you some road runner jigs and crappie slayers I made. Also have some grubs and other soft plastics to send to you. Please let me know how I can send them to you.
Hey Brother Richard...thanks for the great video. Looks like scammers are trolling your channel.🤔
Chartreuse and gold is the ticket
