- Take a rare inside look at Wilt Chamberlain's incredible Bel Air mountain-top mansion dubbed "Ursa Major" (Big Dipper) detailed by none other than Wilt Chamberlain himself. This was recorded just prior to his 2nd NBA Championship April 10th 1972.

i was fortunate to sit next to Mr. Chamberlain on the sand of Main Beach of Laguna Beach in the mid 70's. He was quiet, I offered him a bear and said"be cool with it" and he smiled. When he got uñ to leave and folded his huge beach chair, he shook my hand and thanked me. He was a gentleman.
You can have your Kareem’s, your Russell’s, your Shaq’s, I’ll take the Big Dipper every time
You chose the last accomplished of those you listed. Good job 🤡
@@SteveJobIess The record book says otherwise
Wilt always had to be number one in everything. Even has the number one episode of MTV Cribs 20 years before the show started.
Ha, my buddy used to play him in racquetball and he would cheat so bad by blocking his opponent w' his size!
What a hell of a guy! Damn Wilt the world misses you man
It certainly does.
😔
*Wilt Chamberlain was the real GOAT.* 🐐
Wilt was a very eloquent man to speak.
I had the privilege of touring and filming this home a few weeks ago. It’s amazing!🔥🔥🔥
Best center in NBA history
Vic Wilson WHAT?????????
I thought there was a Goat🐐 named Michael Jordan
Skillwise and accolades that would be MJ be if you’re talking about the most unstoppable force in history of basketball, that would be Wilt.
Russell Westbrook
Bill Russell> Wilt Chamberlain
Russell Westbrook nah man best player not centrr
People say Wilt wasn’t a winner, but he was definitely a winner at life
1868/ 1972 ,, NBA champion , wilt

72 NBA records would say otherwise
I don’t know what they talking about he GOT THAT RING AND THEM RECORDS PLUS HE PLAYED AGAINST SOME OF THE BEST PLAYERS,TEAMS,AND COACHES SO LETS BE FAIR NOW🤔🤔🤔🤔😌😌😌💯💯✊🏿🙏🏿😇
I remember watching this as a kid in 1972. I had to watch again to confirm I recalled the electronic skylight over the bed!
Wilt looks like a king of the pimps here.
20fadhil: Revolution nah KING OF THE PLAYERS !
grodhagen was it wilt who confessed about sleeping with hundreds of women?
20.000. Wilt's conservative estimate was 2.000, which was plausible since he often had threesome.
Jackass. That home was built and designed with special features, not the least of which was that Wilt wanted people of average height to feel completely at ease. The house was also designed without one right angle. By the way: the cost was 1.5 million, and he paid 90% cash because he was a wise investor.
and your mom is being one of them BITCHES!
He was light years ahead of his time.
He's still ahead...haha. Zeus in his Olympus.
except in winning
@@mkhan8527 thank the stacked Celtics with 10 hofers
That's BS...he won two titles and was on two of the greatest teams in NBA history. And, one of them won 33 in a row!
@@robolds1204 the ' 67 Sixers won 68 regular season games a record at the time and ended the dreaded Celtics stranglehold on title runs, The '72 Lakers won 33 regular season games in a row and won the Laker first 'chip in los Angeles.
This man inspired me to never get married and stay bachelor as long as you can. When you are alone with your ambitions, you have no excuse not to be successful
The Ripped Reaper Sure, and when you're financially successful, like Wilt was, as well as being a top flight NBA player, with him being single, instead of being married, he probably turned down more pussy, than he actually got, and there's no doubt, that he got plenty...
The Ripped Reaper truth
The Ripped Reaper he honestly did 😂😂😂
I'm divorced and so glad to be a bachelor again! He was right about the eagles. Lol

Listening to black athletes from that era is refreshing. Julius Erving, Kareem, etc. Knowing how to express yourself is beautiful thing
They spoke much more intelligently than today's athletes. They've really become dummied down. Of course Kareem is a lawyer. When Bill Russel speaks he sounds like a college professor. Miss that intelligence in players
Frankincensed Kobe spoke eloquently and Lebron just to name a few....
I was thinking the same thing
@@94mac Kobe did. LeBron, not so much. LeBron TRIES TO and credit him for that if you want but he doesn't come across as eloquent as all.
@@thomasdemay9805 he is intelligent and eloquent you’re just deaf I guess
"It takes 6 men to move it, it weighs 2,000 pounds." So 6 men or 1 Wilt.
Spectacular footage! I've never seen it before. Wilt is my all-time favorite.
Love watching wilt play basketball, checkers, arm wrestling, etc etc

This is the flyest shit I've ever seen!!! Wilt's the GOAT!!!!
Wilt is the epitome of a legend
I love the way he speaks. Great archive. Having a beautiful home is a major goal. Rip Wilt!
Wilt had a lot of swag
Reminds me of Incredibles 2

Great basketball player & great 🏠house
He built this house back in 60s,WILT old-school playa
Leon Parks He started having it built in 1969, so technically, it was finished sometime in the early 70's, this video clip is from 1972...
@bee Lover through, or thru....but not threw.
Wilt was an incredible athlete, very smart and well rounded man as well. He was def a unique person, and one that was larger than life.
Wow. As always amazing footage from WCA. But to hear wilt expressing his thoughts on things beyond basketball is incredibly rare and valuable. Truly a transcendent person even beyond the court.
When I was a kid I loved watching Wilt with the gold headband and the goatee. Wilt and Dr J my two favorite players of all time
For an NBA player he definitely set the standard when it comes to real estate. Most of his superstar peers would settle for charming storybook houses but Wilt went for cool, flashy architectural houses that not only has great attention to details but also matched his larger than life stature.
This is definitely where Wilt did most of his work on his most famous achievement of 10,000. Probably hit the last 5,000 in 10 years time. Also, I just realized Wilt was the inspiration behind MTV Cribs. The man could do it all.
Heard it was 20,000 Who knows?
And right on top of those bounty furs.
You take pussy up there and you know what is going down.
Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous is the inspiration for MTV Cribs.
Rumor has it; could have been as high as 20k
This place rocks. Absolutely amazing. I guess I'm OK with him not being universally recognized as the goat now. He sure as hell had one of the best homes any human could ever want to have.
Imagine meditating there every day. And jumping into the deep as fuck pool afterwards. Such bliss!
wilt is so humble and professional in this video
Final comment was the best. "Only in America. I am fortunate"!!
Its pretty insane that he could get this even back in the day when NBA players weren't paid like they are today. I know he did push for big contract but damn! He must have been getting a lot of money from other avenues as well...
Wilt was making 900,000.00 in 73. Not bad. He was a shrwed investor, too.
First episode of Cribs?
Aleksandar 😂RIGHT!!
😂😂😂
Lifestyles of the rich and famous...
Wilt did not like the monniker "Wilt the Stilt", but he did like the lesser used "Big Dipper". He once said he considered himself "a normal person" and pointed out that he was only a foot taller than someone of "average" height, he must have meant the normal range up to about 6'3". He liked his pad, that's for sure. But on the street in L.A. he never forgot his roots in the world of the American common man. He was known to stand in line for movie tickets and wait his turn for a table at a restaurant. I saw him once on the street in the L.A. area, late on a weekday evening on Santa Monica Boulevard, He was alone apparently getting something out of his car.
He was one of two Hall of Fame centers I have seen on the street. The other one was Bill Walton pedaling around Palo Alto late at night during the time he attended Stanford law. Walton completed the program but never practiced law. I played in one pickup game in my life with NBA players in it. One was a center who had played on a championship team but he was not Hall of Fame. I was not a very skilled player but I moved around very well in my young days and even at 5'10" was not that intimidated. But you do realize quite quickly that you are overmatched. Fortunately, no small point guard in the game. I have seen them close up and they are absolute magicians. You could not hope to compete against them.
Anonymike ...Good read
that was interesting, thank you!
On further reivew, it turns out, Bill Walton did not complete law school. He was still playing in the NBA at that time. His primary career post-NBA has been as a sport broadcaster.
Great, Greater and Greatest that's what we have hear. A person a dream into a home I'm inspired by you Mr. Chamberlain RIP.
Incredible. Just like the greatest himself! RIP Wilton Norman Chamberlain!
it would be cool to live a life like Wilt Chamberlain
ANY BACHELOR CAN LEARN FROM WILT. SUCH AN UNDERRATED AND UNDER ACKNOWLEDGED MIND. A TRUE ARTIST
I had the pleasure of seeing this house in person on a tour in LA. It's located in the hills off Mulholland Dr. And it's every bit as beautiful and Big here as it was in person.
Ahmad2423 Its still there? muhulond is like...25 mins from me.. its off the 405 or 101?

I was there in 1993...looked exactly the same! Lots really cool sports memorabilia. And the toilet sests were super tall, my feet were dangling off...lol!
I remember seeing this from a distance on one of those "celebrity homes tours" van trips. The driver pointed it out, I recognized the home from Wilt's first autobiography.
The NBA's one true GOAT.
Terrific video - never saw this before. Thanks!
Wilt was intelligent and articulate. You would have a hard time finding a modern player that articulate, and most NBA players today don't even respect our National Anthem.
What an awesome video! Priceless!
Amazing love this guy
Wilt, my hero, love watching play basketball 🏀, great checker player, arm wrestling, etc etc
If you did not seen him play especially when he was young it is possible they your mindset would be different. Being 81 and a b-ball nut his career was followed as much as I could. Only saw him play once and that was in a exhibition game. 😊
Thanks for posting this!
In the interviews I've seen with Wilt he always seems careful with his words, this one he seemed to be almost ranting about his house to the point he was out of breath. It could be they just interviewed him after a workout, but the difference in his word pacing just seems so significant.
Cool house! A home that he could've made just for himself, but he decided to make it so everyone would feel comfortable, just thoughtful on Wilts end.
I think it's nerves more than anything. He was always more of a quiet introverted person. When it comes physical feats his nerves are solid but public speaking is scary for a lot of people. He was fine a bit into the video.
I think it was just a bad mic
Wilt is a bitch how doesn't care about womans
@@balthazarbratt8194 I am really surprised that nobody has started the myth yet that Wilt moved that kitchen table in by himself. It is only a matter of time.

Talos that’s how most men where back then. Careful with there words and that’s how we should be today
Wilt was so awesome, he invented Mtv Cribs
In 2020 the house, 15261 Antelo Place, was for sale asking 14.9 million us dollars. (I think total build costs for Mr Chamberlain were around 10% of that).
I wonder how much DNA is spread around the house
Lol it is said you still might get pregnant if you swim in that pool🤣
All of it.
@@dmac5108 🤣🤣🤣
I wonder what this house was originally worth when Wilt had it built in the early 70's, it's now on the market for 19M...
S. Chris T. Wilt purchased it in 1968 for 150k.... a substantial amount of coin back in that day... especially for a African American
He purchased the lot for $150K, the house was a bit over $1M.
Mathew Fullerton I stand corrected lol
Wow! I wish I was worth 19M to buy it
great video fam salute.
One of the few occasions when wilt was a bit nervous about his new home? But when a carpenter was delivering what i think was the circular table.... wilt came out to help.... it come in pieces to come together....each piece was heavy taking at least two strong people to carry....wilt without any sign of strain....picked up a couple and carried them into his new home....
So many stories about wilts physical prowess especially strength from his school chums when he was 15 years old to nba players and from Arnold Schwarzenegger....if only a tenth are accurate....he's in a class by him self!
He’s the best athletic big man ever
In his era no question at 7’1”.
Benched over 500lbs too
Ran track & jumped
The 20,000 was just a number to say ALOT and to sell books
Two women a day everyday ! For 25 years is 18,250. Lol
Some asshole bought this house in 2008 or so and remodeled all the coolness out. It's still a neat house but very bland now. It was listed in 2018 for 19 million. Due to no takers It's just been relisted for 14 million
I read in his 1st book about this house it's very unique and all
Beautiful like him
beautiful home r.i.p 1 and only Wilt "the stilt"Chamberlain😢😭
Awesome thanks for uploading awesome
Damn Wilt... Salute!

Amazing house, I still thought it was an ugly design but amazing
Like damn wilt you were the man
He slayed some booty at that pad
Wilt was knowledgeable is so many areas, basketball was just part of who he was, certainly was not everything he was. His appreciation of America is not something famous people embrace in 2021, as he said he traveled the world, he had a wide perspective and his conclusion: America is the best country in the world and he was thankful to be from the USA.
He said his favorite city in the world was Venice, Italy..
Can you please post a video of Wilt throwing down really powerful dunks. Kareem used to throw down some bangers in the early and mid 70's.
