Great ideas and a wonderful little routine! I thought of two things to share as I watched... There's a two bill trick that works on the same principle. Two bills of different denominations are placed in a "V" shape with the smaller bill on top (the fact of which is brought to the attention of the spectator). There's about a 1/4" offset between bills when they're wrapped around a pencil. As you get close to the ends of the bills, you allow one bill to flip around the pencil. I have the spectator place their fingers on the exposed corners to hold the bills in place. Once unrolled, the bills have changed places, the larger denomination now on top. There's a neat coin vanish (or any small object) using a handkerchief. The coin begins in the middle of the handkerchief diamond. The end closest to the magician is brought forward, covering the coin. The left and right corners are then crossed over top. A magical gesture, and the cloth is pulled taught by the side corners. The coin gets caught up in a sort of pocket of folds and doesn't fall out. I'm sure there's names for these tricks-and Rick probably knows what they are, who created them, and when they were first published. 😊

I like this as a way to get into nightshade by Craig Petty at restaurants wirh their cloth napkins, it seems like legit coins can be used to do this effect and then switched as the reveals of the metamorphisms happen. They fit together perfectly and have great entertainment value. Possibly the very best thing you can make with a cloth and 2 different coins.
