I don't see how being able to recognise the real UB40 - the band that never split following Ali, Astro and Mickey's departure and the one masquerading as UB40 - the Fake Boy 3 - is a ridiculous claim. I also don't see how it is possible for you to know that I know "nothing of this". As a UB40 fan of nearly 40 years, I have sought out the facts since Ali's departure and have concluded that he is a fraud, a compulsive liar and is happy with the delusion that he is UB40. He isn't and never will be again. UB40 have always been a band where no member is bigger or more important than any other. Their distinctive sound is made up of the contributions from ALL members. When Ali left, all UB40 lost was a singer. All the writers, even following Mickey and Astro's departure, were still in the band, so were able to continue as a recording and touring band. As UB40. Duncan has been welcomed to the band with open arms and love from true UB40 fans, as alongside his brother Robin on co-vocals have the band producing that distinctive UB40 sound behind him. Ali, Astro and Mickey without that UB40 engine behind them, is always going to be a pale imitation and not UB40. This is why him using the UB40 name angers me so. It is fraudulent and deceitful. Why do you think that Ali is spending huge amounts of money keeping the case brought against him to prevent him using the name, out of court? Because he knows he's on a loser. The sooner you Ali devotees, lose the delusion that he is UB40, or in any way is fit to use the name, the better.

I have never heard, nor do I no of a band named the REAL UB40, of course, I don't really get out much. Once when I did-you know- I went to the Manchester Apollo, or at least thats where I think I was.
