This is what happens when local authorities neglect riverside maintenance, and allow housing on flood plains !!
Yes it was all planned many years ago.
Facts!
RIP She must of been so so scared. Prayers for her family and friends.
So not cool, I rode out Katrina 15 years ago. I feel their pain and wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy...
This wasn't Katrina ... it was a Day or two's Rain.
It is always pleasant to see a country has a succesful watermanagement..................
Guy with a cat has my vote anytime. I would save my cat much the same way :)
Boris held a mop...he is just like us now.🥴
The whole country needs to plant trees so this doesn't happen in the future.
Idiot... If the weather continues on a warming trend, then life will flourish like it did "millions" of years ago with far more diversity that we can imagine today. Cold climates kill more people than rainfall & heat have historically.
@@MeanOldLady idiot... the ice at the pole is melting because of the global warming, then of course it evaporates, turn into too much rain (flooding) in a warmer area, then animals and plants die, then then the entire ecosystem dies because if there are no more plants and animals, we die too. Ever heard of chain reaction? Of ecosystem? I learned about these 2 in school in a developing country 😊
those trees will grow faster and bigger with more co2. i say the warming trend is a good thing.
@@LuisaH2022 Nonsense. There were periods in history so warm there were jungles *at the north and south poles*. Global warming may be bad for polar bears, coral reefs, and some people, but it will not kill all the plants and animals.
It has nothing to do with trees, even though planting more trees would be nice . It is all to do with poor drainage systems and a lack of management, and too much concrete and development so the rain cannot soak in.
Why does this happen in the north and not the south east of England?
The Centre for Cities thinktank study shows that the poorest areas have borne the brunt of council spending cuts. Local authority spending has fallen nationally by half since 2010, with areas such as Liverpool, Blackburn and Barnsley facing average cuts twice that of their counterparts in the more affluent south, according to the thinktank
I remember , when David Cameron was Prime minister, Yorkshire was flooded and nothing conclusion so far ?
1:25 Kane went to my school. I wish him well
Wouldn't be an interview in the UK without someone bringing up their lost garden. From one gardener to the next I feel your pain 😣. So so sorry a woman had to lose her life. The planet is going to balance itself out in response to the ignorance of mankind are we now ready to accept?!
It's so sad, people around me have had to move from their homes because of the flood. A boy at my school was evicted as he didn't have insurance causing him to live with his grandma. It's stopped flooding for a day now, but tonight it's happening again and I deffinately feel like tonight it's going to be worse than before.
We've had days of constant rain before though, Sky...
This isn't just because its raining...
Where did this happen
Peace & Love from Pennsylvania.
look at it like this were lucky as if it was an american flood youd have crocs and aligators to deal with lol
Isn`t it time we had more preparations and protection from the Councils, Environment Agency etc. as this is now a reoccurrence.
If Government stops shovelling money into the EU and gets out of London occaisionally maybe they'll put some money their way and ask to actually give the water somewhere to go, something is not right, a river will only overflow if it has no flow and no choice.
@@mc2594 I agree with your latter part of the statement ... I believe there is ample flood plains around the country ie. fields. It is about time we had some strategy in resolving this problem.
water water and water and none to drink
little did my family know a week later we would be flooded next. -_-
The government gives the council flood money. The council takes a short term pay rise for their apparent efforts, and the places mostly effected get sand bags 😂😃
Condolences to her love ones
DREDGE THE RIVERS!!!!!!!
This is so very sad. But this is because of global warming. They have said we have awful winters & extremely hot summers
