As someone who creates 3D content what I need to know is can it play Side by Side half width MP4 files. This is the standard format 3D video is rendered. MPO is a standard for 3D still photos. Does the provided software give that functionality.

Because you're viewing a video taken with a 2D camera on a 2D display! You have to see the 3D display in person to see the 3D effect.
