Thank you for this; these are great tips! I'm 36 years old and changing careers from freelance illustrator and odd jobs to tech. I felt this was the route, but I wasn't sure, and I'm glad you agreed. One tip I would say is to network, especially on Discord. I've found many people in the field and great opportunities to help build your resume if you don't know where to start.
