What are your thoughts on the BMW R nineT? Pretty cool bike, right? Now, if you liked this video make sure to hit the _* like and subscribe button*_ to always be in the loop.
The forks on the Pure are not the point. The Pure is trying to be as much like the old R80/7 to look at. Putting all the bells and whistles on it would defeat the object. It’s a heritage range that looks to the past and to the future.
Should of put a big tft screen on there. The dials are small and rubbish. It's a modern bike that's masculine. Without the lego pieces of other bikes. You should of not muted the bike sound and treated us to more exhaust. It's a sweet war like sound. Thanks for the review. I want to buy one but hate the clock gauge things sadly . The aluminium look rocks.
test rode a brand new 2021 recently, while the power, poise and handling was nice, it was probably the least comfortable bike ive ever ridden, solid rear shock like a hard tail, no padding on the seat whatsoever (felt like sitting on the frame) and being really hunched over at 6'2 to reach those tiny bars, my back and rear end were sore after about 20-30 mins of riding in the city. needs bar risers, custom rear suspension and a comfort seat as standard in a future revision to make it ridable sadly the opposed twin really shakes the whole bike like mad at idle, cant say i like it much, it was raining for part of my test ride and droplets were being flung off the tank at idle from the vibration, it does become much smoother from around 2.5 grand and up thanfully, would probably cruise well
Im 6'3", so thanks for the info. I wonder if there is any way the add to the height via longer suspension travel, because I'd like it to manage simple trails. I also wish it was 800cc. 1100 seems like overkill.
Had a test ride on the R9T an the R1250R and for me the R1250R was the clear winner in all aspects and I bought it right away. The look of the R9T maybe was a little bit cooler but I couldn´t think of riding it for longer than maybe 100km. For short trips or around town, it would be ok but longer trips with passenger and luggage, no way for me (wasn´t comfortable at all and didn´t like the old motor in comparison to the newer one).
I share a R9T Scrambler and now waiting for delivery of a '21 Pure. No problem doing 300 km on my last scramble, so I think you might be too tall? (I'm 168 cm). Calling it "a bit cooler" than the R1250R made me spit out my dinner though, the R9T are modern art 😉
@@wandering_armadillo I am not that tall (176cm) but the R9T was the most uncomfortable bike I´ve ever ridden and no way I would go with this bike on longer road trips. As a second bike just for the look and fun around town, maybe, but unfortunately I only have the place for one bike in my garage. As a first al-round bike for long distance traveling (I want to do a trip to Norway and Italy next year with 5-600km a day, partly two people and luggage) the R9T (imho) wouldn´t be the best choice. Probably a GS would fit my needs even more but I am not doing offroad trails so I don´t see the point to get this bulky beast. If I wanted a cool looking bike with old tech, I probably would go with a custom Harley bobber - I really like the classic look of these old school cruisers. But to each his own - if you have no comfort problems and fun with the R9T, everything is fine 😇
@@rotgimbal Oh yes if you are riding two up forget the R9T for comfort. Harley's are too common where I live, and a bobber allows no shifting in butt on longer rides so not my cup of tea. Enjoy whatever you end up with 🙏
I almost got a new 2021 similar to this one. I’m not a fan of the increased electronics and euro compliance loops, but I like the cruise and the LEDs. I ended up finding a used 2019 with the blue and red striped tank for a price I couldn’t ignore. So I got that and love it. And it doesn’t govern at 125 🤫
Hey I have a 21 standard of the 90 and I agree with everything you said you’ve done everything well here but the transmission issue you’re right you have to clutch deep and take your time up or down but it’s a great bike and I certainly enjoy mine whether it’s expensive or not they keep it upright
Good information on that motorcycle. I like everything about that bike except for those wire wheels, they don't look right on a modern motorcycle. Wire wheels are fine on an old pan head Harley, or on my old Norton Commando, but not on the R nine T. I'd definitely prefer the sport wheels if I buy one.
Doing a video on an R NineT and then deciding on a voice over instead of the beautiful boxer engine sound is absurd... Also, the 719 black option clashes with the overall retro vibe of the bike, that red frame is an eyesore.
Every time I see a video with these freedom units, feets, hands, thumps and pounds mixed with millimeters.... I think how easy it could be 🙄. But nooo, North Korea, Myanmar and the US continues 😒
Have to say, you are a bit overly opinionated on matters of taste. That’s not why ppl watch motorcycle videos, it makes all of your other thoughts suspect bc you don’t seem to understand objectivity. And the lack of motor sound seems like you voice overed someone else’s video.
On the contrary for me personally, this guy has some decent technical knowledge and provides information that just doesn't come out in other reviews. The sound of the engine can easily be heard in other reviews.
Yikes.. You know you lack knowledge about the bike you're reviewing when you keep calling it the "R9" when it's been on the market for nearly a decade and it's the R NineT. Like it says it right on the side

on my second R NineT, an option 719 version, its fantastic .. ua-cam.com/video/Zdu0n-eek3Q/v-deo.html
Silly expensive in my view
They are all called RnineT to commemorate 90 years of production, this is the original model that was followed by the scrambler, urban GS, racer etc
It's really disappointing that I could not hear the bike and just watching a voice over. Overall, the information is good though. Thanks for the vid.
100%, and I definitely apologize for that. It’s really hard to get quality audio of a motorcycle. Especially when you forget batteries.
You’ve managed to produce a video devoid of the sound of the engine….what were you thinking, we all know what this bike is about
love the technical details
Great review I have the 2021 and I love it but the transmission from 1st to 2nd is kind of finicky
Can confirm that knee down is in fact easy to do on the 9T.
Love your work man.....keep growin 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thank you! 😊

Also makes it more affordable.
Those are some gnarly roads he was riding on good video by the way.

Laced wheel has inner tire, but sport wheel doesn't. Worry about laced wheel riding on the highway speed.
Not the current model, but true of prior year models - the current year has tubeless spoked wheels
Euro5 model sounds a lot quieter even with optioned al exhaust. And less shakey. Still a good bike tho.
Where is the sound of those exhausts?
Destroyed by GoPro’s inability to record any sound unless you are in a sealed room.
gotta swap the exhaust out first thing. I know because I have a 2017.
What exhaust did you replace it with?
@@Swiftss Competition Werks. I love the sound and also how it's a short exhaust and exposes the beautiful wheel in the back.
@@Swiftss Also delete the flapper valve.
Hi great review this or triumph speedtwin cheers
I've ridden both, both are great. I would say that the suspension on the nineT is much better but I prefer the engine on the Speed Twin.
I ride a R1150R with a clunky transmission . I’ll go with a Triumph.
No chain? One strike. Can’t ride two up? Two strikes. Engine width prevents traffic filtering. Three strikes.

Disgusting
The wire wheels are gorgeous in person and add a lot to the overall design aesthetic. Great to have both options available
Anything but spoked wheels look like a child's version of a big-wheel yard toy.....go spokes
A bike like this needs at least tubeless spoke wheels or mags. Even Triumphs (750 special) in the 70s had mags.
The F900R engine is definitely not garbage wtf??
Love the slipper clutch and quick shifter on the new f bikes.
I got the same one
🏆
Alu..min..ium!!! You heathen! 😆
meh, calm down

Noice😍
My preference is Baak’s custom bobber build ua-cam.com/video/4PaZBLb37Ek/v-deo.html.

No

Dam, you got me. Dropping that T in the name really shows how little I know about motorcycles. I should just quit.
Watch the beginning again
A very scripted & sterile commentary made this a boring review.
