I finally spent the money and ordered a TIAL, should be here in a few days, hopefully I'll have an update video soon. I also got BM3 to add the EWG delete drop down on the N20 tune. Yo! Going great, I have been working with BM3 behind the scenes to get the ROM updated for the N20 to allow an external wastegate with a bigger turbo! I just heard back this morning that they added it. I have my own custom tune I built but still chasing some hardware issues. I'll put out an update video soon!

Hopefully you get the leaks figured out and everything straightened out, i know it's frustrating, I'm in the same boat, about to start putting my car back together in the next several days when the rest of my parts arrive. Waiting on timing chain and guide, valve stem seals, the special tool spring compressor for the intake top springs then i can get all that done and start assembling all this stuff. Ive already lapped the exhaust valves, they weren't bad at all. The valve stem seals were hard as a brick though and they aren't supposed to be that hard. Good luck the rest of the way, the car sounds awesome.
@@projectrandomCO Not quite sure. I'm definitely taking my time. Lol...I didn't make a video on it but got my new rings in the pistons earlier tonight. Should have the rest of my stuff sometime tomorrow according to the tracking details.
awesome video man! my full respect for pulling this stunt, honestly the most intriguing build i've seen in youtube. hope you sort out the leaks, after getting a proper tune you are all set! the idle sounded really well without exhaust. my guess for building boost might actually be the port injection at low rpms, i've seen people doing this on the b58.
It was definitely the up pipe and crappy ebay wastegate. Got them both figured out but my primary o2 sensor died. Waiting on that now to finish up the tune!
Checked the gate spring it actuated at 14psi so I'm good there, definitely the up pipe vband leaking, at least that's part of the problem. Gaskets will be here tomorrow so I should know then!
Haha, maybe. I am not a fabricator but I could definitely try and start making some real kits. I am sure they would sell pretty well, seems like a lot of people want to go down the same path.
I've got a 3 inch all the way back, 3.5 would just get reduced to 3" unless I do a full 3.5" exhaust. This is a 2.0 and not pushing a ton of power. Since it's not a full race car I want to keep a full exhaust to tone it down.

Manifold is done and in the car, just waiting on some 3" piping and elbows to finish the downpipe. Car runs but I haven't driven it yet but the turbo spools like crazy now with the new manifold. Video soon, pipes come in next Wed so it will probably be next Friday before I can finish up and post the vid.
Hey! I put an update on the community page but plans changed again so I am staying in Colorado. I have been prepping to move the last month and had a last minute change. Back to the car content soon. I have been working with BM3 to make some changes to the ROM to allow for the EWG delete and some other things. They said everything should be live so I am just waiting for my ROM to be updated now. I have my own tune built I did myself so I will try and go through that step by step soon to give you all an idea on how to tune your own car. It's actually pretty easy!
Yeah, as soon as I can build some boost! I had some footage, but it was mostly me mashing the throttle and not going anywhere lol. Should be sometime this week once I get the gaskets.
Yeah, Forged internals and a whole lot of upgrades. 700 would be hard to hit reliably. You need an upgraded trans after 400hp or so and forged internals with every supporting mod. Fuel pumps, injectors, intercooler, custom tune, etc
Hey, working on the tune and plans to move across the country fell through. I'm out of the country for a few more days but I'll put out an update video when I get back.
The one in the video was an aeroflow 7875, it's a gen 1 with a smaller back and compressor housing for 2.0 but still spooled a little slow. I'll slap it on another project at some point. I have a twin scroll garrett 61mm but it spools pretty close to the 7875 still.
Damn I know man, I have been so busy, was planning on moving and really haven't had any time to work on the car. I'm still working on the tune trying to get the turbo to spool right. I might have to get a smaller one 🤔

It's definitely been fun and a learning experience. One thing I need for sure is more practice welding and some gas so I can Tig instead of mig lol.

Yo, 400 reliably would be easy with a bolt on turbo and some upgraded internals with supporting mods (intake, exhaust, downpipe, intercooler)

Hey man, sounds like it could be the bearings, a broken valve, or a seized piston. Does it rotate backwards? Oil? Coolant?

Manifold is done and in the car, just waiting on some 3" piping and elbows to finish the downpipe. Car runs but I haven't driven it yet but the turbo spools like crazy now with the new manifold. Video soon, pipes come in next Wed so it will probably be next Friday before I can finish up and post the vid.
