Great video Nick , love to see the old TW in action , one of my early memories driving one in 1982 flat rolling ploughed land , I could barely reach the pedals back then but loved it !
Good video Nick 👍 nice to see you gettin some seed in the ground with some moisture to help Germination 👌 TM was dealing with the Discs with great ease I thought 💪 well done Dad saving another piece of our agricultural history from scrap 👍 perhaps you could sow some stubble turnips for fodder for Hayley's 🐑👍
Yes sir, Mr. Nick Glad you could put down some seed. We are in trouble that our water was cut off at the farm. Now were a hoping for the water keep safe friend.
Surprised how much moisture you have there. It’s still like concrete here in Essex! Ray making a good job there with no auto steer. Tractor prices are crazy especially for low hour classics. I know where there’s a < 2000 hour Ford 8340 and 8360 but if they ever come up for sale they’ll make massive money!
Great video again Nick. 👍🏻 I think we have scrapped drilling OSR this year in South Cambs. Too dry and by the time we get some moisture it’ll be too late. Changed the rotation now to beans and more wheats. Plus a cover crop of beans and barley mix before spring barley. What’s the music at the end of the video Nick?
That smithe looks in good condition looks like its missing the weights on the back though. I'd be interested to see more on the gps light bar in a video.
Great video nick, good to see you drilling, nice bit of discing , didn't you have some set of old cambridgeshire rolls up at farm 2 you could put on back of discs? Nice drill. Are you drilling more land this year?
Thanks mate, yeah drilling more this year, we’re doing one more year of set aside but that will be at our ‘away farm’ which we’ll be taking back in hand , so yeah more this year then back to farming it all the following year 👍🚜
Has the Smyth got tramliners ????? Joking aside it looks in good condition, most of them have rotted away. Didnt the older ones have different coulters with weights to keep them in the ground?
@@NicksFarm I was a mechanic before I retired, and you would always see old Smyth drill weights lying around farm workshops in East Anglia. Sure if you mentioned it in your next vid, you would be inundated with offers.
It Is Always Great To See Your Dad Describing The Old Machineries He Sounds Like A Kid In A Toy Store He Is Awesome xx

I'd be interested to see more on the gps light bar in a video.
I’ll try and show it in detail some time 👍 yeah weights are missing but I think that’s all, seems in good condition like you say 👍
@@NicksFarm will be interesting to see how it handles pumpkin seeds.

It’s actually missing the weights Robert, we’ve been trying to source some, other than that it’s all complete 👍

Hi every thing ok here from while
Nick watch out your Dad could buy a Shire horse to pull his new drill.
🚜🚜🚜😎😎😎👍
The smyth drill will look at home on the back of the major.
Definitely 👍
Nick, why do you roll the fields after sowing?
Main reason is to preserve moisture and help with seed to soil contact, it also helps create a level seedbed 👍
r you ok no videos for a weeks
Hi Nick, can you message me back when you get time mate...the other old Smyth drills yours if you still want it.
Think your dad needs a Fordson model f to go with the drill
That would look great!
Would certainly look the part 👍
You still running nick?
I stopped but started again, still off the smokes though 😎👍
Whats,happening to you ?
that tm was bought by a friend of mine and hasn't travelled far and it will be well looked after
It’ll do them well! 👍
