Omg Sherlock’s face when Watson asks him if he has a boyfriend😂 “There’s nothing wrong with tha-“ “I know there isn’t.” “........,” “So...you’ve got a boyfrien-“ “No.”
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was the writer who created Sherlock Holmes, he never once mentioned homosexuality, it was about an eccentric detective who solved crimes, with his partner Dr Watson. This "new Sherlock Holmes" created by Mark Gatiss, an open homosexual, has peppered the new series full of homosexual topics and innuendos. It's rather distasteful.
@@OUigot what's wrong with representation? And, I understand if you're upset about Canon divergence, but please realize that the books are possibly gayer than the show. Sure, it's never explicitly said, especially considering the laws on homosexuality during the era it was written, but Sherlock calls John names such as "My Dear Watson" ect and vise versa. Also, if you disagree with my previous statement, please consider it was only loosely based off of the books. The show is set in modern day London, not the 1800's. Whatever the writers decide to do based on that fact is entirely acceptable in my mind, as setting the high functioning sociopath in a modern setting allows things that couldn't be possible in the Victorian Era, such as DNA tests, or modern day Biochemistry, or homosexuality. Further, in the show, neither characters are presented as openly gay. John marries Mary and has Rosie, and Sherlock is - albeit falsely - engaged to Janine, and sort of professes his love for Molly. That's Canon. Anything further are people's personal OTP's, Ships, opinions and headcannons, which you have no business interfering with. Silver lining, keep your opinions to yourself. I don't remember anyone asking for it.
2:09 Scene is so brilliant. Sherlock's concern at John meeting a friend of his. He doesn't have friends. Then his casual, almost disappointed reaction to the word enemy, and asking which one. Realizing it's Mycroft, then scolding John for not taking the money.
I always thought he looked relieved when John said it was an enemy and that breaks my heart a little. Sherlock is relieved to know it was an enemy because enemies don't scare him, friends on the other hand... Tells you a little about how many friends Sherlock has had. Yeah, none. T^T
I wouldn't blame him. He knew the truth about something and didn't want to tell Lestrade. I'll bet it was actually physically painful to withhold his demonstration of superiority.
The way he played the violin while Microft was leaving, I don't know why it makes me laugh so much. Like "here, have a nice soundtrack for your walk of shame, you scumbag".

“You and your little ass.” Cumberbatch does such a great job in allowing Sherlock to have layers. Most of the time the mannerisms are so peculiar and precise, but every once in a while, there is the most casual of jokes. And only with John, because only with John, is he comfortable going outside his comfort zone enough to not be a brilliant “high functioning sociopath.” And that connection is revealed in their second or third scene. When Sherlock explains how he deduced so much about John and John offers actual praise and respect and admiration. John, who is a mess, is comfortable enough, empathetic enough, and maybe needs Sherlock enough, to allow Sherlock to be smarter than him. And in return, Sherlock allows himself to care enough about John to lower his guard and seek a connection. They are not a couple but they are better fitted to each other than the most happily married of couples.
