Incredible customisation turning a second rate toy into a first rate model. I think this is your best interior yet simple and elegant with the perfect amount of detailing
My fathers friend had one when I was a kid. He wrecked it by driving over a guard rail and it tore up the entire frame. Nice resto! Great job on this one.
Your restoration turned it from a toy into a beautiful replica! I agree, the metallic blue you mixed up really makes it look good. Thanks for sharing this great tutorial.
The glamor shot at the end is perfect, but the turntable view looked bland. The '63 Sting Ray "Split Window" (one year only),was one of my favorite's since my childhood. Thank you for the Bob Willis shout-out,your a great guy.
Awesome job Danny you were lucky you got the whole car. If you look back at my channel you'll see I did the same model only I made mine into a road race version but I had to make the bumper section cuz the plastic was so brittle.
this was a very cool video for me because I had that exact car when i was a kid ... most of my cars of that scale were Corgi ...thanx for sharing it with me
Sometimes you improve cars. Today you transformed it. Very special Deffo agree about Bob Willis Corgi and Dinky restorer. He has a different style, but I learn so much from him.
Great job again Danny ⭐️ I once did one of these in Black and had it on eBay for ages , no interest 🤔 So I took it off and re-did in Silver and it was gone in a couple of days! So yes I agree with you light metallic colours like the Blue you just did or a Silver suits this model best. Thanks for the mention bud and the link 👍👍👍
It's amazing how the colour of a vehicle will affect a sale. I would have thought a black stingray, with perhaps a red interior would be a great colour combination.
@@DannysDiecastDisasters Very much so. Vehicle colours are so subjective. Everyone has their likes and dislikes about which colour suits which vehicle. The blue on yours looks great.
it also changes according to market changes in the automotive industry , colours seem to have fads and crazes at one time a huge colour here in the uk for Vauxhall corsas was a pastel purple colour whereas silver was only mildly popular and an expensive optional colour , whereas now it seems to be the default colour
Excellent! Great color choice and like how you added the details to the steering wheel. When you were painting the wheel black I thought, needs some silver too. Beautiful transformation!
This one reminds me of a car from a really old video game called Street Rod. If I could find one of these I'd love to do it up like the one from the game!
Danny the car keys are really cool I'm currently working on a Mustang that I bought for next to nothing it's kind of a pain in the butt but you know what when it comes out it really does look good and blue is one of the better collar so is silver for the Corvette specialist III well done
Whether you like the final color or not (red's my favorite), it definitely turned out 100 times better than it was at the start. It wasn't even the yellow that bugged me -- it was all those crummy decals and the eyes on the front of the hood! If it had been just the side number on the yellow paintjob it wouldn't have been that bad. It does look better in blue. Minus those digusting decals! Jay Leno's Garage (UA-cam Channel) had someone bring in their Corvette Stingray for Jay to look at it. Wasn't quite as customized as this one and I don't think the engine popped out of the hood, either! :) And that Stingray was a "full-size toy," too!
@@DannysDiecastDisasters No fun- ho's . Check out the video thats currently downloading. Got a pretty epic diecast donation that im ecstatic about though..
Corgi did a goodish rendition of the split window C2 Corvette.i had one of these,no idea what happened to it though, may have swapped it for something or other.Anway,a good job, again Danny.i shall check out that other site you mentioned,as i do a lot of bigger scale resto's/custom's myself.
Lovely work. Personally, I would have preferred a darker blue, but anything would have been better than that hideous yellow with the ridiculous stickers.
When you’re old enough to have bought this toy new the dated geeky paintjob is familiar. This was the sixties and everything was in your face and had a certain naivety.
Thnx for always taking the time to detail the interiors. Some don't bother at all (which I hate),just makes the job seem incomplete. Is this a 1:64 scale? (looks a little bigger). What's the actual length (in cm's) of this car?
As an avid Corvette collector I really appreciate the top notch jod you did on this 63. I would buy that in a heartbeat for my collection.
Danny, your restos are getting more and more impressive. You are officially the master of diecast disaster. Flawless....

Looks absolutely fantastic. Thanks for sharing your skills.
Interesting little Corvette. That is a unique casting that I have never seen before. Good choice on the blue.
Licence plates are a nice touch. I only discovered Bob recently but I also enjoy his Corgi stuff he's very informative.
I agree that the old Corvette Stingrays just look perfect in that metallic blue. I love it! Great job on this one, Danny!
The Corvette is looking absolutely amazing ! Very well done ! 🍻
Lovely paintjob and details. The motor looks very cool and I'm diggin' the DDD plates.

Wow, that looks amazing now. Love the colour.

Good work, great color and great paint job! I love that color.
Awesome , casting is great . Work is awesome . Looks like your best work with this one .
Really love the color and the car. Mike Espo....
Goodwork on the Corvette it look much better in Blue.
Great job! Love the split window Corvette.
Nice job Danny. That 1963 Corvette looked like it needed some help!😍
Very Nice in blue. Love the tripple D detail.

Turned out fantastic spot on restoration
Stunning metallic blue. Its really classy! Noice!
Amazing work.love all the details you put in your work
Excellent job Danny, you a right about the colour.
Bob Willis great guy great channel.
Awesome job Danny you were lucky you got the whole car. If you look back at my channel you'll see I did the same model only I made mine into a road race version but I had to make the bumper section cuz the plastic was so brittle.
Yes I was surprised the pipes on the bonnet were still there, although on mine the plastic parts were actually quite rubbery.
Awesome liked how you kept the original wheels too 👌🏻

What a great transformation mate. Absolutely love it. Now it looks like a proper Stingray

Oh man I remember this one from when I was a kid.
Awesome transformation 👍👍😊
I really like the color choice. Great job!
That really turned out nice.
Great job, only thing I would have done different would be to use a bit of flat black on the exhaust ends and the openings in the velocity stacks.
Looks awesome Danny
Perfect color.
Cool casting looks great 👍🏻
63 split window, very sought after car here in the States!!! Nice restore, would look nice with some fat meats underneath!!!
Beautiful. Thanks for the video.
wow very nice result 😎👍 i like these 63' Vettes quite a lot

Hi Danny nice job I love these split window Chevs if only the misses would let me buy a real one.😖🚘😨😢😭
I think that is the best colour for this shape 'Vette
Stunning job, Danny. Love that colour. Similar body-type and age to our E-type Jag.
Nice 63 Vette

Unbelievable!
I just bought a really beaten up one of these today..

Great work Danny Brian Thailand
Absolutely wonderful 👋👋
This is a replica 1963 Corvette Stingray...that was the only year Corvette had split windows.
Sorry i didn't see your post.

Dany great job!. Could you please tweak your camera, as it is mostly focused on the table

Great car and restore! Focus on camera seems super aggressive today. Not sure if you changed a setting or it was very noticeable zoomed in like that.
Private number plate 👍
I want to drive that!
WOW just WOW 🔥🤘🏻
aww you didn't put some racing livery like the old one. I would love to see the new Corvette with a racing livery

A bit larger, not quite 1/43 scale either, in between. Its 9cm long 👍
