Yeah, Manchu steel was preferred by japanese themselves. And most of army swords which are now resold in western countries as "genuine japanese katanas" are in fact mass-stamped from Manchu steel in Anshan (Liaoning)

Okay, not a HOI4 player, but I love watching: is there a way to do paratrooper and or glider attacks? I'd love to see how an army of basically nothing but airborne would go.
not good airborn troops land with almost no organization making them easy to defeat

Airborne divisions are actually amazing. Use them tactically. A mass airborne army landing on supply hubs and rail lines. Don't land on victory points or ports because AI does defend those. Land by them, if empty, go and land next to those tiles. Yes, org can be low but last stand, general special feature glider planes, also having transports can all get your org and supplies recovered before the AI can redeploy troops. Make sure to land several airborne divisions next to each other and capture tiles next to each other, so you have places to retreat if needed.
@@nickverbree And yes, they're absolutely can be a meme. Lots of multiplayer games have been ruined _(memed?)_ by paratroopers going behind enemy lines to cause chaos. They are indeed high risk sort of things as the others have said
problem is that your special forces limit is tied to your army size
When I did the Sunrise Invasion achievement, I built a few cruiser subs, and then I made 1 soldier invade Attu island at the edge of the Aleutians and 9 invade Portland. Its usually enough to get you going quickly to defeat the US before they can fully mobilize
Own a musket for home defense, since that's what the founding fathers intended. Four ruffians break into my house. "What the devil?" As I grab my powdered wig and Kentucky rifle. Blow a golf ball sized hole through the first man, he's dead on the spot. Draw my pistol on the second man, miss him entirely because it's smoothbore and nails the neighbors dog. I have to resort to the cannon mounted at the top of the stairs loaded with grape shot, "Tally ho lads" the grape shot shreds two men in the blast, the sound and extra shrapnel set off car alarms. Fix bayonet and charge the last terrified rapscallion. He Bleeds out waiting on the police to arrive since triangular bayonet wounds are impossible to stitch up. Just as the founding fathers intended.
Paradox definitely needs to do a DLC for Japan for sure

I honestly feel like Japan need to have their Axis/Kodoha and Communist/Democratic paths bunched up. So that you'd get two main choices that lead to more bonuses and the branching would come later on. Similar to how Germany chooses the path AFTER it rebuilds from civil war if it opposes Hitler.
This way civil war would be more believable(as among communists and democrats there might be enough support combined to do something) and better represent their options on both imperialistic paths(if you won in China and won border conflict with USSR, why would you be afraid to attack it in 1942 when it's in trouble rather then attacking USA?).
As a HOI4 Japan main Im glad to learn more strategies as them.

If you puppet the Dutch in a peace deal they automatically give Curaçao to Venezuela. It happens when the peace deal ends. Annexing them fully or taking Curaçao specifically allows the carribean invasion. Have done it, still a thing.
Just gave up on my last Japan play through cause the Allie’s convoy raided me to death but by 1942 had no more focuses available

October 1937 (about 14 minutes in) - running out of oil and guns? You've taken the California oil fields, which should supply your oil needs, and you own Idaho, which should have enough small arms to equip your entire army and possibly two or three allies as well...
Also, judging by the map in January of '38, a lot of the resistance you're seeing in Washington is being put up not by the US Army so much as by the Colville Confederated Tribes and the Nooksack and Lummi tribes in the northern Puget Sound region.
You know I'm pretty sure there's actually a book series where Japan wins ww2 and conquers all of america and they have like mechas going around or something...

Showa restoration would lead you to Technological exchange, which would allow you to join the Axis, but there is a pretty good chance Germany won't accept. And even if they would, it'd taken even more time than the strategy you used in this video.

@@phoenixwright7802 im pretty sure taureor has pretty good navy tutorials but I'd recommend just playing the game. Like a navy focused japan or britain with expert ai mod. Vanilla ai loses its ships too quickly due to skill issue but expert ai uses the navy better so its gonna be a challenge. But thats exactly what you need to learn the navy or the game in general

What's funny is I, an American, am currently working on planning a study abroad to Japan.
As a brit I'm disturbed how often you invade the islands.
It's like an itch every non-brit has that's just not mentioned (except under Irish society..)
Alternatively, you could still invade Hawaii, and then ask for docking rights from Ecuador or El Salvador....I don't remember which one of those was Fascist.

Me personally, I go Oman and give myself infinite man power and all modern gear. Then I make 50 width artillery with artillery support equ. And I declare war on the soviets. I do nothing till the Germans declare and then I join the Germans. I proceed to send 300 divisions on the German front and kill German supply. I then join the fight against allies and use my 1000 sub navy to utterly destroy those pesky brits and then I beat the soviets by killing millions of Oman citizens and several 100,000s pieces of artillery. In the peace deal I make every country a puppet to lag the game. After, I woke up from this weird fever dream about Oman and play a normal Japan game.
Poor Puerto Rico cant be a fully fledged state even under God Emperor Anime.

I struggle getting naval superiority as Japan. I've tried at least a dozen times and only once did I, briefly, get naval superiority in all of the regions required for the invasion. How in the world do

I think the best youtuber for this is Bitt3rsteel. He's the best hoi4 UA-camr to use the navy, and he always says how he wishes he had a proper navy and not sub spam. He also always speaks about the German High Seas Fleet.

This was hilarious. Who would of thought a bike brigade would be so powerful. This did get me wondering though. Could this have been the outcome for America if Japan started their attack and this early? Even though when asked why they didn't invade the mainland it was because behind every blade of grass there is a gun.
The collaboration government on the Soviets didn't bring down Their surrender limit because Germany controlled the land not you.

Before the supply overhaul I did a Japan game where I did bicycle divisions with motorised rocket artillery than later with medium tanks, it was fun but I doubt it would work anymore.
This guide is very very advanced and also optional, looks funny but for me a first time Japan guy it was completely useless
