As a fellow unstable manchild, I was told no constantly bc my parents wanted me to get used to it. Exactly. I'm very grateful to have my mom helping me with my insurance. And such at age 31, but at least I have a job and I'm trying my best to don't have to think I'm a complete loser and I legitimately have no life just because all of my friends are busy, but I even have more of a life than Addison. Suspended license. Meaning he had one, and a judge revoked his driving privileges. Obviously if his license is suspended, then he can't tag, register or insure a vehicle himself either since you kinda need a valid license to do those things. Typical lawyer trying to say he tased her for not signing the ticket. No, he tased her because she fled, resisted, and assaulted him.
And……all of that was put into motion because of the rigidity of “this is the rule.” She was an ass, to be sure. But the public was not benefited in any way. If he explained, “Ma’am, we are here because you put off the tail light 6 months. A consequence of that is this $80 ticket. You can refuse to sign this, but please notice the consequences get steeper and steeper, and the next stop might likely result in arrest. So, please, for everyone’s safety, please take care of this now.” The absolute standard UA-cam response is draconian and has its basis “You have to follow the rules”, without a moment thinking, “Now is the rigidity of this rule necessary”, or “Is there a more effective way to affect the change we need here?” Rule after rule is being scrutinized as to whether it’s effective or not. But the average UA-camr wants her dog sentenced to death as well.

Then when she gets called out for not fixing it she freaks out. If you get that upset about an $80 ticket, you have bigger issues. If you have an issue with a ticket the police write you, you fight it in court, not on the roadside. I am tired of people making excuses for their horrible actions.

Yep 95% of the time they say "okay this is just a warning then, please get it fixed" and you are on your way. 5% of the time, it's a very minor fix-it ticket which is not even a moving violation so it's not points on your DL.

@jim1894 probably not, if he's under 25, male and in an area with high rates of accidents/drunk driving etc. Especially in a coastal area. I had to deal with that too, perfect driving record, no tickets only ever been pulled for a bad tail light and my insurance was like that till I was about 22. Dropped drastically after that but sometimes you just fit the profile for insurance to screw you.

I got pulled over for expired tags, and unfortunately, I didn't have insurance either. The cop walked up, and I was ready and handed him my ID. He asked about my tags, and i just explained to him my situation, and I said yes, sir, and no, sir. He was taken aback by my use of sir. He was very kind and didn't ticket me for the insurance because that's like a $1,000 ticket. And I signed my ticket and he let me go. Easy peasy, if you're nice and respectful it gets you a long way. In the end they put their pants on the same as everyone else.

Every single move you make or word you say gets Monday morning QBed after every single minor incident. Even if you are theoretically perfect, people are going to criticize you and it's an excellent way to gather ammunition to fire someone who a supervisor or higher up doesn't like. Use of force, basically can't even do it anymore, it's evolved to Jiu Jitsu maneuvers, which nobody can remember due to how complex most of them are, and that kung fu crap doesn't work anyway against criminals who actually fight hard and don't follow the sporting rules of the ring. And this is just scratching the surface, I could type a novel about terrible hiring practices, corrupt chiefs, officers, city councils, unethical behavior, and on and on.
@@okstate999it's a public servant job. When you serve the public with serious authority there has to be accountability. This power is easily manipulated and has been misused by many for as long as the authority has existed. Indeed body cameras allow the public to scrutinize every action but cams typically aren't running all the time and officers can engage or disable them as they see fit. They also have the department backing them even when they make bad decisions -- a union, the government and a plethora of lawyers.
With great power comes great opportunity for misuse -- and great responsibility
that's why it attracts the worst people
