Great to see some more Five Parsecs! You make a wonderful battle report for this game!

Great battle report. It's good to see you back in action. There where some things that doesn't seemed right. You're Huala could have not been downed because you only hit but don't make the injury roll. When a weapon has 2 shots, it only costs 1action to fire both of them. A 6 is always a success, even when the modification say that you have to roll 7+. Sorry for the rules correction, but the game is complicated and tough enough for a solo player like us.

Thanks for pointing that out... I knew something wasn't right with Huala :) And yes, the 6 is always a success, so there's always a chance.

At the end of round four (43:18) a second battlefield should have been rolled.

Very cool ,thank you... my boys were " wow how does he play so fast ? Well , he knows the rules and plans ahead , so no one is waiting... l stole a Matt Mercerism and will say " your turn Steve, Paul you are on deck... even though they play little league baseball , no one knew what on deck meant ? Thanks for the post.

So, weird trivia - the term "you're on deck" stems from the nautical usage of crewmen being on deck and ready for duty, and "you're in the hole" (ie the batter who's next up after whoever is on deck, usually waiting at the steps of the dugout) is possibly a corruption of "in the hold" (ie below deck on a ship). While both terms were in use in the late 1800s (about the time baseball was really taking off in the US) MLB historians seem to think the terms were popularized during and after WW2, particularly by carrier crewmen. I'm a little dubious about that being the starting point of the term in baseball, but can't find a definite example of "on deck" in the sport prior to the 1940s so can't say for sure it was in use earlier.
"Fire in the hole" (ie there is about to be an explosion) is almost certainly a mining term originally, but some etymologists believe it may be a similar corruption of "fire in the hold" from nautical usage, since powder and ammunition magazines are always below deck and obviously tend to explode if set on fire.
So there's some stuff to educate your kids on. :)

I do think this was probably the fastest game I've played of 5P... hopefully they all go as smoothly and deadly for the opposition :)

At the end of round two (30:43) you needed to roll a battlefield event before starting round three

You rolled a hit for Huala (die roll 6) but did not check the amount of damage to him (I believe you would have needed to a roll a 4 or higher to down him)

Hey Jim good to see you back doing 5 Parsecs. I hope your hand is healing well.
The 95 for Huala was only fair, since you only rolled the hit dice and removed him without rolling a damage dice. He just got knocked out instead.
Great video. Glad to have you back.
Have you looked at Zona Alfa yet?

@@jktechwriter there are additional rules it seems published to make it look ideal for solo play, even though from just watching original playthroughs, it would seem to be ideal for solo in its setting.

Seems like an unintentional effect of the rules that a sole surviving enemy becomes morale-immune like that. I'd probably have the guy test every turn rather than automatically make a last stand after all his allies are dead or fled.

Good point, but he was a Lt so I figure his boss won't take failure as an option, so he had nothing to lose but to stay and try his best to eliminate my guys.
