I was in Boy Scout but I quit because of poor leadership. We went cold weather camping in march 2023 and it was -15 outside. The sea scout ship and venturing crew who were going with us dropped and my leaders said, “A little cold won’t hurt. If they’re cold we’ll blame the parents for preparing them for it being 10 degrees.” We complained so much our scout master was forced to let us leave because we threatened to sue.

As a current Boy Scout member, it still boggles my mind how we trust kids that can barely do their homework to tie four different knots, light fires, use bows and arrows, cook raw meat for their patrols, and lead other kids. Yep, just a good old fashion recipe for chaos :’)

Im a scout from South Africa, and honestly, yeah scouts are pretty lawless, but it makes it fun. But in South Africa we don't have boy scouts, we have mixed scouts. And honestly scouts is pretty wild and I love it, it also builds emunity , once i ate two cups of raw chicken for dinner and i didn't get sick. It was awesome. Ive been a scout for 9 years and am still going strong. (Also i can relate to swimming in leach infested water, I've done it many times at scouts)

I was the first girl to join Troop One when I was 9 years old. I earned my Arrow of Light and became a part of the Troop. Currently, I am 13 years old and working hard to achieve my Life rank. I have a special love for camping and always ask my parents if I can go on these trips. I have already been on camping trips to Island Park and the Salmon River. This year, I am super excited as we are planning to go to Camp Easton for a week-long backpacking trip.

As a Canadian scout it’s amazing to see all the differences between Canadian and American scouts. For example our cub uniforms are grey as opposed to blue and our scouts uniforms are green as opposed to beige and we don’t have a sash.
the sash is for merit badges, also camp badges that you(r mom) put on the back.
And we have the neckerchiefs :)

Our uniforms are superior my brother-in-scouts. Instead of sash, we have BLANKET and neckers. Neckers are excellent.

not all people like scouts, i personally find it really fun, my older brother actually just eagled out and now all the pressure is on me to become an eagle scout as well, still it's a great program that I highly encourage people to try. you don't necessarily have to become an eagle scout to have fun, it's all about the friends you make and the things you experience. love your videos keep up the good work

I just finished Boy Scouts and got my Eagle. I definitely think anyone who wants to Boy Scouts should. Anyone who’s almost done, I hope you make it. Anyone who wants to quit, keep going. I used to dread weekend camping trips wishing I didn’t have to go, but after a while you’ll just say to yourself “that’s stupid that I wanted to stay home”. I think Boy Scouts taught me a lot of life skills like how to start a fire, first aid, and just proper preparedness. You also get alot of fun memories out of it, like this one time we were camping out and some of older kids were breaking their hammock so by the time it was lights out, there was 5-6 guys piled into one tent. I genuinely believe scouts is a good opportunity for anyone young or needing of guidance. Plus, it looks good on a resume.
Edit: also, yeah Scout camps are pretty lawless considering the amount of times I’ve cut myself whittling and starting a fire with 0 adult supervision.
I'm currently life scout and working on eagle, and scouts can be a very rewarding experience if you let it. Some of my favorite memories were over troop camping trips.

Yeah, I honestly think most camp outs aren’t that bad because you get used to it and being in a patrol helps makes it experience easier. It’s also fun to work on ranking up and service projects
