After my desert riding trip got cancelled last week, I did the same thing. About a foot of snow on my trails but I went out anyway. Had to sit on the rear fender to get un-stuck half the time. It wasnt that bad, besides heavy engine braking locked the rear constantly
What are you doing for traction? I had a friend run a screw threw each knobby. It was a lot of work for just one ride. We rented snowbikes last year. They were $300 a day. They were a blast. Everyone who rides need to ride once in their lives.
I don't think so these bikes are meant to wrap out I don't think it hurts these bikes whatsoever to get on them every once in awhile now if he was to put a snow machine set up on that bike yeah it would toast the top end
A+ for determination. I would've given up within the first 60 seconds, walked home to get the tractor and just put the bike in the front loader...

I was doing this 50 years ago in the upper Michigan winters. Had lots of fun year round.
The road looked like a blast, the ditch not so much.
Was a nice bike so much for the clutch and the top end gonna need new rings piston whole nine yards after that day 😆 lol

We used to ride our mx bikes in the winter too we screwed sheet metal screws into the knobbies.

I love flying through tge snowmobile trails on my KTM 525 in the spring. Carve a deep rut right to the swingarm.
And I love absolutely ripping up and roosting the 💩out of those trails with my crf450r !!!

We have about the same amount of snow here in Canada, and my CR250 doesn’t do any better. The issue is laying down the power to the ground
