As a kid, I loved taking things apart to see what was inside. Just make sure electronic devices are fully discharged or you may end up with a nasty shock.
@@MrtalentedReid “The literature reviews showed that not only does the fluorescent powder in CCFLs in LCD TVs contain mercury; in fact the entire CCFL, especially older and used CCFLs, have mercury amalgamated to the glass and the electrodes as well” There was a study on this I cannot post links because UA-cam will delete my comment then but if you google that quote it should come up.
I wouldn't be surprised if that top notch wiring job started a fire. I mean, I'm sure that duct tape will be sticky enough to make a solid connection that never slips or causes arcing and is sufficient insulation from electrical shock and is also able to withstand the heat that can be generated by something like this. Especially with the CCFL lighting. It's cool lighting but I'd definitely check out everything in detail and I wouldn't leave it on or plugged in while I was asleep or away from home. I'm just sayin. I guess they aren't really that bright though either.
Ok thanks for stopping by,those lighting super cool they don't generate heat the current in the Circuits not aggressive enough to cause any fire all the high voltage on the output side to the tube that dont constant it is soft voltage it don't really bring much arm to you after doing some research i even test it my self because am a technician and understand Circuits 😀 current is not friendly though hahahaha. Don't try it at home if don't have any knowledge about, it keep safe you and your family God bless you have a wonderful one 😊 ⚡ ⚡ ⚡ ⚡
bassicaly you only need PSU powersupply to switch on the ccfl backlight You don't need motherboard then the step you have to do is, just connect pin -pin power on to STBYE with 1 k resistor - pin pDim/aDim to STBYE with 1 k Resistor - pin driver on/bl on to STBYE with 1 k resistor - pin err/error to GND if available each pin use one resistor so the backlight Will continuously on without protect its applied for all LED/LCD powersupply type
@@MrtalentedReid yeahhh.... it's the same connection that was on the monitor before.... is there meant to be a soldering on the board to bring a connector so it'll remain on permanent on?

Lol 😆 🤣
Great video!
I powered my skinny fluorescent bulbs wirelessly with my mini Tesla coil.
Ok sounds good
How can ccfl rod be run without LCD supply?
🤷🏽♂️
If supply not working what the problem
Lcd supply ok ccfl rod also be ok but don't turn on
@captainrahman8344 wow maybe sometime not connected
Aren’t CCFLs often coated in mercury on the outside making them dangerous to handle? (Not just mercury gas inside)
Only the inside have mercury

Ok wow thanks for the update
@@MrtalentedReid No symptoms of mercury poisoning though I assume?
Not that I know of
Did you make them change colors or was that just the camera?
Gas reaction thanks for stopping by
Now I know everything.
Ok great thanks for stopping by
How bright are the CCFL backlight tubes?.
Super bright where it will give your eyes trouble looking on them
@@MrtalentedReid Thank you, I am try to turn my monitor which used CCFL's into a lamp, your video gonna help me out a ton
Ok your welcome good luck 👍
Great video, its turorial how to make 5 mnt video to become 28mnt... lmao 😅

Power supply from the same tv
