Supposedly on the 2T TPI bikes, the ECU takes control of when the fan goes on if you hook to the factory harness connector, and that temp may be quite high. So I concur with Jeff's advice to hard wire to battery as I have on my 19 300, then set control temp to where YOU want it. Only downside is with hardwire to battery, the fan will continue when the bike shuts off, sometimes cycling annoyingly as the bike rests. A switch, or a relay triggered off the light circuit (which shuts off a few seconds after engine stops), would solve that if it becomes enough of an annoyance. Good usable info as always Mr. S!
Correct, when plugged in to the factory harness, the ECU controls when the fan kicks on. I tried it 2 years ago on my '18 250 tpi and I think it kicked on around 210/215 degrees. I set my Trail Tech fan to come on at 190 degrees. The fan cycling when the engine is off is a good thing. It brings the temp down below where you have it set.
Just wondering I assume this applies to the 2024 300 xcw models as well? I would also like my fan to come on at 180 so do you recommend getting the wiring harness for this fan and hooking it strait to the battery for it to do so or is the ecu temp any lower for this year or bike?
On the 2017 300XC you can plug directly into the connector you pointed out on the harness without any issues. No extra piece, if the harness is the same on 2020 as they are on 2017.
On '17 models, the TT digital unit controls the fan when plugged directly to the factory harness. The TPi models have an ECU that controls it unless you use the TT harness.
Jeff has the digital display mounted at the top. This is incorrect. The fuel tank won’t fit. The manufacturer mounted the display upside down. Happened to me.. reverse the digital display and mount it at the bottom near the expansion chamber on the right side radiator. TBI bikes with the new can bus off road electric control module will need the accessory electrical harness that connects directly to the battery. Apparently the fan circuit in that module only works on 4T models. The LED for that circuit doesn’t light up on 2T TBI models.
Hi, great and informative video, will this fit the earlier 2010 530 EXC model, dont seem to be able to find one specific to the 530. The radiator size looks very similar apart from the piping which should not be an issue. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
Hello: We have fan kits in stock for your 530. Part #TT732-FN1 . Go to this page slavensracing.com/shop/radiator-fan-kit-for-ktm-husaberg-husqvarna-by-trail-tech/ and click on the fitment tab to see your bike listed.
It may work fine on these little bikes, but on a 23' 450 xc-f, the gauge hits the fuel tank and pushes the radiator way forward. So you have to bend it out so that it is out from behind the tank. Then cut a hole so the the shroud can bolt on 5:37
I need one to go on a 2020 TX300i. On your website, the fitment guide says the TT732-FN3. However, the TT732-FN3 looks very different, it has the digi-thermostat located below the fan. The one that should fit looks exactly like the one in your video, with the digi-thermostat located above the fan.
@@slaverace1 Unfortunately I’m located halfway around the world, pretty expensive to make that phone call. Would be great if you could share what other options are available for the 2020 TX300i, or what model is the one in this video so that I could order it off your site. Cheers!
@@twoplustwo7316 The fan in the video is a KTM Powerparts fan made by Trail Tech (55735941044) that retails for $249. Since this video we have realized that the 17-18 Trail Tech fan TT732-FN3 fits all 17-21 bikes and only costs $189.95. There is no reason to pay the extra money as they both fit well and work the same. The only difference is the Powerparts fan TTO is protected by the radiator shroud. If you really want to pay more, we have them and could ship you one. Email info@slavensracing.com if you would like to proceed.

Does your fan kit come with everything needed or is another harness still needed to connect to the battery, if so which wiring harness or model number is it? For my 2020 300 XC-W tpi. Thanks.
Do you know if the 2017 fan off a 300xc fits on 2021 350xcf. That fan looks different temp gauge is on the top The old one was mounted on the bottom. I ordered one off your site just making sure that it will fit. All the part numbers are the same for all those years. Thanks tt732-fn3

Just placed another order with you guys. This time for this fan kit for my 300 6 days. Great vids and service from you guys.

I was wondering about the huge price jump on the fan kit.

Hello:
You must have a different model or year. The tank fits fine on this bike.

I assumed that the sensor would be pre fan not post, would this make a difference? Or would the difference be minimal?
Is it more powerful than stock fan
No, the same fan with digital control and read out.
For a KTM TPI bike what temperature should you set your fan to turn on at?
I set mine at 190F.
Could you tell me what to set the fan temperature at
190
Tt732-fn3 digital fan kit will it fit on my 22 ktm 300 xcw tpi without modifying anything?

will this fan kill the battery when wired directly to the battery ?
Not if you set it to come on at 185 degrees.

Eric: I'm not familiar with that. Please contact Trail Tech support @ 800-769-2996.
I paid 423 in Canada for gasgas (yaya the poor man KTM)
WE ship to Canada daily. It would cost half of what you paid up north.
