1. The Crow 2. The Dark City 3. Beetlejuice 4. The Lost Boys 5. The Matrix 6. Nosferatu 7. The Return of the Living Dead 8. Descendants 9. The Rocky Horror Picture Show
You forgot to mention The Hunger starring Catherine Deneuve, David Bowie, and Susan Sarandon. The opening scene is with a cameo by Bauhaus playing Bela Lugosi's Dead - the film is perfection.
I would also include Gypsy 83, Bram stoker’s Dracula, The Craft, Edward Scissorhands, 1931 Dracula, Queen of the Damned, Interview with the vampire.. 😊
If/when I have kids, they're seeing the Addam's Family (both the movies and the original show), the more kid-friendly Tim Burton movies (which is most of them), and The Series of Unfortunate Events (both the movie and the Netflix series). I'm sure there's more that I could come up with, too, but that's what comes off the top of my head. Edit: Sure enough, I came up with more. There's also Coraline, The Dark Crystal, Boxtrolls, Paranorman, Casper, and Mirrormask. Just sayin', there's better things out there than the Descendants for family-friendly stuff lol.
Good selection. One thing about return of the living dead not mentioned. To me one of the most death rock scenes is from this movie, scream queen actress Linnea Quigley aka Trash is dancing topless on a tombstone at night listening to 45 grave, party time, a founding band of the la death rock scene. Great soundtrack.. it's up there with Bauhaus and the Hunger scene...iconic
Some of my favorites that you all didn’t mention are 1. The Hunger (I mean, the movie starts with Bauhaus performing Bêla Lagosi’s Dead!!). 2. Gothic (the very stylized story of Mary and Percy Shelly’s famous visit to Geneva with Lord Byron) 3. Both Crimson Peak and Pan’s Labyrinth (because Guillermo del Toro is such a visionary!!)
Let Me In and Let The Right Ones In are two awesome dark gothic movies, on the surface they're a kind of dark romantic story but once you look past the surface it's a dark depressing story about manipulation Watch it!
I would say The Matrix was more industrial than Goth. The Lost Boys will always have a special place with me as a Santa Cruz native, and watching that movie get filmed. I remember watching the dirt bike scene on the beach being filmed, and we were at the Boardwalk when they were filming some of the b roll for the opening credits. In fact, we were on the Pirate Ship ride when they showed that clip. I remember the operator telling us to scream extra loud for the movie that was being filmed.
- Only lovers left Alive - the crow - Dogs in Space - the Hunger - Near dark - Lost Boys - let the right one in (sweden) Maybe Darkcity , Return Of the living dead (Not goth but fun ) - Dracula But Definitely Not bettlejuice ! ! !
I have a friend who's kinda alternative and like writes everywhere about her love to horrors, witches and vampires. Once I started to talk to her about Nosferatu and she didn't even know that name.
Blade Runner (1982) Martin (1978) by George Romero n of course Harold and Maude (1971) so sweet n dark but it doesn't fit the goth aesthetic overtones but the film in general is full of dark humor and existentialist drama The craft (1996) Fairuza Balk is amazing! Home Room (2002) is ok, not the best but it has Busy Philipps as a goth n she looks decent (I own all those named in this clip and everything I named above except for Martin. Still searching for a collectors edition )
The chick is such a 'pick me girl'/'I'm not like other girls' kind of chick. Annoying. Nosferatu? Seriously? That is a super well known classic. I would say most people who know of it have not seen it, but know what it is because it is the first vampire movie and one of the most well known silent films of all time. Bram Stokers' family sued over it when it came out. I don't know any goth girls who aren't into some kind of horror and even if they are just into goth for the style and hate horror, who cares. Stop gate keeping. Knowing Nosferatu isn't you entering into an elite club, it is you knowing that silent films existed. I watched The Exorcist for the first time at the age of 4 for a midnight viewing on Halloween, and a lot of people can say something similar. IDK, probably making too much of it but everything Penny said had to do with her being a unique and manic pixie dream girl who isn't like other girls. Can you not talk about something without indicating how unique you are for liking something millions of others have enjoyed? Probably being too harsh because I can't remember a thing that the men said, but annoyed about the 'not like other girls' mentality to focus on anything else. The gate keeping of what is goth was too much though. If people like goth style then they can call themselves goth. Horror is my favorite genre of all time but I dress in suits everyday. People can enjoy a style while enjoying different genres. Not sure why I am so annoyed but this set me on edge, found Penny to be rude and gate keeping. Let pink flower rainbow chicks love horror, and let chicks who watch romantic comedies dress goth. IDK, seemed rude and unnecessary, probably like this comment. Enjoy.
1. The Crow
2. The Dark City
3. Beetlejuice
4. The Lost Boys
5. The Matrix
6. Nosferatu
7. The Return of the Living Dead
8. Descendants
9. The Rocky Horror Picture Show
I personally would add Interview with a vampire and Addams Family to this list.
I'm disappointed no one mentioned Francis Ford Coppola's Dracula. That movie was Goth AF.
We definitely need to do a part two…
That movie was dogshit
Interview with a Vampire is my all time fav goth movie!🖤 Gives me all the dark feels...!
I was gonna say that!
Everyone collectively forgot about Gypsy 83, that movie is super goth and really shows the gothic subculture the way it is.
You forgot to mention The Hunger starring Catherine Deneuve, David Bowie, and Susan Sarandon. The opening scene is with a cameo by Bauhaus playing Bela Lugosi's Dead - the film is perfection.
Essential kid goth movie/show is Monster High.
Yes! Good call! I love Frankie
Monster high was my favorite✨
Like where was that when I was a kid??
The Craft? The Hunger? Ginger Snaps?
Some classics right there!
Queen of the Damned is my go-to goth movie! The soundtrack holds up as well! I am 34 and still jam to it at work!
Sleepy Hollow is another good Burton gothy one.
Also, I miss the Goreys 😶
So many good Burton ones. I almost picked Edward Scissorhands too.
I would also include Gypsy 83, Bram stoker’s Dracula, The Craft, Edward Scissorhands, 1931 Dracula, Queen of the Damned, Interview with the vampire.. 😊

That's what I watch with my kids!
I love return of the living dead. They have 45 grave singing “it’s party time!”
Love these movies I would have to add Night Of The Demons and The Hunger !
I was tempted to talk about The Hunger! So amazing. Haven’t seen Night of the Demons, will check it out!
Yes love night of the demons classic!
This was fun, another great movie's to see is gypsy 83 and repo genetic opera
Haven’t seen Gypsy 83! Thanks!
Thank you soooooo much for mentioning them!!🖤🖤🖤
Only recently watched gypsy 83 and my god its amazing!! Even bought the hd version on amazon prime
I had that exact Crow poster as well-I had several, but that one where he's sitting with his hands folded was my favorite.
Classic! Whenever I see that image it just takes me back...
Good selection. One thing about return of the living dead not mentioned.

Wow! Another great reason to check it out. It’s still in my list, I’ll have to sneak it in one of these nights

Tom Cruise's Legend,Brotherhood of the Wolf
You guys are forgotten the best of all: La cité des enfants perdus (City of the Lost Children) A masterpiece!
That is a great movie!
Let Me In and Let The Right Ones In are two awesome dark gothic movies, on the surface they're a kind of dark romantic story but once you look past the surface it's a dark depressing story about manipulation
Watch it!
I've been meaning to watch those...thanks!

The first underworld movie came out during the 00s goth goes mainstream era. I just want to give that a plug
The style in that movie was 🔥🔥🔥
- Only lovers left Alive
- the crow
- Dogs in Space
- the Hunger
- Near dark
- Lost Boys
- let the right one in (sweden)
Maybe Darkcity , Return Of the living dead (Not goth but fun )
- Dracula
But Definitely Not bettlejuice !
! !
Thanks for the video and everyone in the comments
Cannot believe the craft was not mentioned
Classic! We should do a whole video about that film
@@thegoreyshow absolutely!! I had a huge contingent of friends in Boston and we saw that in the theater multiple times!
I have a friend who's kinda alternative and like writes everywhere about her love to horrors, witches and vampires. Once I started to talk to her about Nosferatu and she didn't even know that name.
To be fair, the movie is literally 100 years old, but its one of my favorite classic horror movies.
love the cure! nice shirt and pretty fitting as well!
Can please someone tell what are the musics in the video used in beetlejuice and nosferatu
Blade Runner (1982)
Martin (1978) by George Romero
n of course
Harold and Maude (1971)
so sweet n dark but it doesn't fit the goth aesthetic overtones but the film in general is full of dark humor and existentialist drama
The craft (1996)
Fairuza Balk is amazing!
Home Room (2002) is ok, not the best but it has Busy Philipps as a goth n she looks decent
(I own all those named in this clip and everything I named above except for Martin. Still searching for a collectors edition )
Blade Runner is one of my all time favorites too. Sci-fi goth!
Surprised no one mentioned The Hunger!
My favorite goth movie is The Crow as well and I even have a figure of him.
A good mention is Repo the Genetic Opera
Correction, Brandon Lee's death is NOT IN FILM. It was saved until investigation was complete then destroyed! Not left in film
That makes sense. Thanks for the correction.
@@thegoreyshow No worries my friend! :)
Madhouse (2004) is amazing Goth movie.
Thanks from Russia 🖤
Thanks for watching!
Great video more please 😎😎😎
We just posted a new one!
Why am I seeing this 3 years later!!!!!!! 😡🦇
I like the movie "Sangre Eterna". It's not the best goth movie but still an entertaining vampire movie to watch.
Hope you check out My Summer as a Goth - just came out on digital platforms!
Loved it! Looking forward to having you on the show.
Crow
Van Helsing
Penny Dreadful
Adams family
Wednesday
Sleepy Hollow is a good Goth movie.
A friend of mine and I came up with an idea for a goth Godzilla (Gothzilla) movie called Godzilla vs Lunarus.
Hahaha!
Yeah, I made multiple videos for it.
I loved The Gory's!
Thank you 🖤 we spent years writing a TV show based on it and trying to get that sold but I think we should just keep making UA-cam episodes
What about The Doom Generation with Rose Mcgowan.
I love the crow the book and movie are cool and so goth I love it
Love your Death profile pic!
@@thegoreyshow thank you.
Not a single Hitchcock or Film Noire pick. I think this film school needs to attend summer school.
Sweeney Todd??????
You forgot Dracula by Coppola, Hellriser and The Craft!
Clearly we need to do more of these!
11:15
That's a pretty bad take.
Since goth is a music based subculture excluding people for not watching a movie is kinda lame
Hellraiser is awsome
