    My first time in Florida last year at age 63. 64 now. Late March to early April. We went to a lot of places, from one coast to the other. 10 days and lots of driving. Loved most of it. Sure, all places have good and bad aspects. Was in Miami a few hours. Just awhile ago I shoveled snow. Not good at my age and ailments. 31° now and sleet/ rain mix while in Miami- 77°. So worn out from decades of this winter crap!!! No words for my hatred of winter! I have relatives that moved to Deltona a few years ago. They to had enough of the F***ing winters!!! Those who like the change of seasons and winter activities can stay here in Pa.

    The best city to live in. I moved here to Miami in 2010 after visiting almost every year since 2000 and this was one of the best decisions of my life. There are models all over Miami Beach so do not listen to these idiots who say otherwise. I'm from Indiana about 30 minutes from Chicago and it sucks there. Miami is awesome.

    unbelievably beautiful downtown - palmtrees and skyscrapers . but wheres all the city buses? and people waiting at busstops ? and downtown shopping and restaurants and crowds ? Miami ranks fairly high on walkability and public transit rankings ( for a southern half of u.s.a. city ) - but really don't actually see it in youtube vids.

    • @xoxxobob
      @xoxxobob 10 років тому +1

      Walk Score ranked Miami as the 8th. most "walkable" city in the US! The heat & humidity keeps most people from walking but notice everybody has a car. Miami is the most well developed major city in the Southeast.

    • @Jeschitown
      @Jeschitown 10 років тому

      And why is that Miami is nothing compared to Chicago not sure if you been there but if you think it can offer you anywhere near the amenteties as a world class city like chitown your highly mistaken downtown Miami is ugly IMO and boring they have south beach and nice weather that's it

    • @coupleofbeers31
      @coupleofbeers31 10 років тому

      Hey hooka and why's that? You must think Miami is sunny everyday with tons of beautiful people on every corner. HA! Keep dreaming. Let me put it to you this way, it's been raining, no wait, pouring here for the past three months and unless you are on Lincoln road in South Beach the women are at best average-looking. You like hot blondes or hot Asian girls? You won't find a single one down here (not natural at least). Rather you'll find a lot of fat Cuban, Central American, and Haitian girls who can't speak proper English. Lots of crime, rude people, poverty, and a terrible job market. Want to get a good job in Miami? You better learn to speak Spanish. Only thing Miami has over Chicago is December-March. Other than that I would prefer Chicago any other time of the year.

    • @hookahrev6666
      @hookahrev6666 10 років тому

      ***** it's still debatable to me i would have to experience miami for myself before I make that decision ever major city had its ups and downs growing up in chicago for 21 yrs now current day it gets its new name "chi raq" for a reason only few limited parts of Chicago are still nice but the murder rate is out of control now which is why many ppl are wanting to leave but either way chi town will always be my home!

    • @hookahrev6666
      @hookahrev6666 10 років тому

      Jeschitown I would have to experience myself with what miami has to offer or any other part of Florida I've been in chicago since the early 90s and seeing how it got its new name "chi raq" just cuz of how out of control the murder rate is now just disgusts me

    • @Jeschitown
      @Jeschitown 10 років тому

      hookahrev666 where do you live in Chicago because it's comments like that, that give Chicago a bad rep sure I agree the murder and crime in general is a bit alarming but every city suffers from this and in Chicago it's really isolated to certain neighborhoods but often people make it sound way out of proportion. All I'm saying is visit the potential cities you considering because I visit Miami often and although the weather is nice a lot of the time not all the time, there isn't anything their IMO that I have experienced that can hold a candle to Chicago.

      I am originally from Europe, and I would never live there. Europe sucks. There are much better places to live than Europe. The US is the best, of course, but there are other great places in the world, which are much more modern than Europe, with much higher living standards, and much better climate, like Dubai, Singapore or Australia (especially Gold Coast and Sydney).

      Oh well the government center doesn't sound like an exciting spot 2 hang out, but I'm guessing it's a nice-looking building on the inside & outside and I don't know the name or look of the Miami mayor, and wouldn't say anything to him like that since I don't know him, but anyway thanks 4 your input, I hope 2 hear other good recommendation replies.

I know I was heading to a country where spanish was the native language but I was on business trip, so people I deal with in Argentina speak English as it was a US company.. but miami airport my God. .english 5% maybe

    There are really nice bits in Miami, but there are lots of horrible parts. Hospitality is not one of its strengths; there are really beautiful girls but unless you have the enough money and fame you should forget them. It's a city to visit on vacations but for living I don't think so. If you have a lot of money to invest in real estate it would be great, and of course Miami is good place for rich people (and somehow fake).

    Interesting. Many of the complaints I read here about Miami (third world country, mostly Spanish-speaking, high crime, expensive, etc.) I hear about LA! The biggest difference being Miami is a gateway to Latin America and LA is a gateway to Mexico (which it used to be a part of!) and more recently Asian countries.

    • @elena79rus
      @elena79rus 8 років тому

      Miami is a much more beautiful, cleaner, and more modern city than LA, but LA has much higher salaries and much better job market. It has much higher living standards (just like California overall compared to Florida). Besides, no matter how many Mexicans live in LA, English is still the first language there. You don't have to know Spanish to live there. There is a much higher percentage of white English speaking population in LA than there is in Miami. Whereas in Miami Spanish is the first language, and in many parts of Miami people don't even speak English. It's all because everything in Miami belongs to Latinos (Cubans mostly). They own the city. Overall Miami has much more of a Latino vibe than LA.

    • @brucegoolsby1470
      @brucegoolsby1470 8 років тому

      You are the first person I've ever encountered who expressed that! LA is much larger and offers so much. I wish Miami salaries were higher, but will enjoy it anyways!

    • @elena79rus
      @elena79rus 8 років тому

      +Bruce Goolsby
      Expressed what exactly?
      If we compare land area LA is not much bigger. I never said LA doesn't offer much. It is an interesting place culturally. It doesn't have much nightlife though, especially compared to Miami.

    • @brucegoolsby1470
      @brucegoolsby1470 8 років тому

      +elena79rus The first to say Miami was cleaner than LA and was not much bigger. Don't misunderstand, I like Miami. As a matter of fact I will be there next week!

    • @elena79rus
      @elena79rus 8 років тому

      +Bruce Goolsby
      Miami is much cleaner not only than LA but than any other big city in the US. It is a well known fact. In 2008 Miami was oficially recognized as the cleanest big city in the US, whereas LA for decades has been recognized every year at the dirtiest/most polluted US city. I just enjoy breathing clean Miami air every day, especially after living in LA for many years where I always felt like I was breathing dust all the time. I even developed asthma because of living there.
      As far as the size, in the US we measure cities by metropolitan areas, and in terms of land area LA metro and Miami metro are close in size. However, LA is more densely populated, that's why population-wise LA is bigger.

      Miami has a Caribbean look and feel to it with the coconut palm trees, emerald green waters and 75 - 80 degree minimum temps in the winters. Also being that Cuba is only 90 miles away the city population is majority Cuban along with many different South American, Haitian, and other Caribbean cultures. So unless Canada has a huge Spanish speaking population with 30 million tourist a year from around the world in bathing suits and nice tans then its nothing like MIAMI
