Since spilling blood would be wasting food from a vampire's perspective, blunt weapons sound ideal in order to minimize the blood loss, while also taking great advantage of their superhuman strenght. As a bonus, it can be made to look like and function as a fancy cane, or a scepter if appropriate. That also brings to mind that maces have often been a symbol of authority in the past, which also sounds fitting for a vampire noble.
Well you still have to avoid the skull. I busted skull bleeds a ton. Basically aim for bicep, elbows, hands, kneecaps and spine you essentially have a harmless human you can drink at liesure
You are not necessarily wrong but that would depend upon the amount the vampire needs to feed himself. If say he needs half a human body in blood or even more. Than yes, spilling even a drop of blood would be a waste. On the other hand, if the vampire only needs a fraction of a human's body, the vampire could very well decide to bisect his victim and still find enough nourishment. Furthermore if the vampire (with his supernatural sense of smell) enjoys the scent of blood he might very well do so to work up an appetite or simply because he likes the scent. Secondly in some universes (Warhammer, Castlevania, ....) vampires can control blood with their magic so they could (tactically) chose to mutilate one victim (say a weaker member of the bleating flock that thinks they can threaten him) for easy access to said blood which they then employ to take care of the rest. On a third somewhat related note, vampires are often capable of resurrecting corpses, therefore employing a weapon that does limited damage to said bodies (for example a rapier) would make for more usefull underlings than say the victims of mace who might have every bone in their body broken. For these particular reason I would suggest a blade. Preferably one-edged with a thick spine for sturdiness, a useful but not too prominent tip and an elegant swept hilt. This has the upside that it does not look out of place for mortals who are most likely the vampire's most common opponent/ victim, prey and possibly greatest threat and thus allows the vampire to pretend to be one of them, albeit a noble one ...if it suits him.
1: you probably cant suck out blood that is in the tissue and not a bloodvessel after blunt force trauma so they would waste even more then with a fast cut and then just sucking out of the cut right away 2: superhuman strength would probably mean that their victims would still bleed after getting hit with a mace etc, just not from a clean, 'suckable' wound 3: if youre superhuman anyway, what keeps you from just knocking out people bare knuckle style and then go on with the rest? Especially if you can creep up on them at night and faster then any human etc? I bet a vampire would just go iron mike on people and maybe even take them to a nice place before eating bc they stay fresh if only knocked out. Like a vampire dining room instead of eating off the ground like an animal.

I think non lethal weapons would be ideal for vampires. If your goal is to feed on blood, a somewhat renewable bodily fluid then your goal would be to kidnap your meal rather than kill them. But if your goal is self defense or killing humans then would a vampire even need a weapon? They're basically superheros: superhuman strength, speed and regeneration are considered to be the baseline then there's a whole grab bag of other common powers invisibility, mind control, various forms of shapeshifting and flight, goddamn magic.
So I wrote a vampire fiction that was really unique that still unfortunately has gotten published and I spent a lot of thought August and even though some of the stuff may be, you need to my vampires. Here's my take on it. I don't think he would need, especially throughout most history weapons. If you're a vampire to deal with humans, modern day weapons and futuristic weapons, especially after vampires are public knowledge would become a problem because then humans would start designing weapons specifically to harm your own kind and therefore trying to figure out faster and better ways to defend yourself would be a big thing. I loved your astute observation that they would probably have weapons similar to Central America, particularly the Aztec where your goal was to capture soldiers not killed them and they design their weapons that way. One of the aspects of my vampires was that their entire species while they can't use violence for self-defense were ultimately pacifists due to their little nature for needing a constant food supply. They have no real concept of nonchalant killing or killing for pleasure because to them dead human is a waste of food so they've been literally programmed against that which is why they're horrified of how easy it is for a humans to just kill and torture each other.
For the former purpose I suppose it would be less about the weapon and more about technique - break your prey's spine and leave them paralyzed to be fed on for as long as stays alive in your dungeon? Either find a gap in the armor on their back (or some very thin armor piercing weapon) for that precise backstab attack or use your enhanced stats and do the Bane.
Since this is highly World of Darkness centric, outside of a few notable exceptions, you don't really choose your weapon with fighting humans in mind. The vast majority are unaware of the supernatural and will not pose a significant threat. Your biggest worry are other vampires and those are heavily resistant to all bludgeoning damage (which includes gunfire, for some reason), so any blunt weapon would be a poor choice.
Brain on Warhammer: Those vampires already have a steady supply of humans that they feed on since they are either an Aristocracy with a human lower class/slaves OR marauding pirates that kidnap elves, humans, dwarfs, probably lizardmen when they need to feed. And technically, most vampires in WH have worse weapons than any professional army can have mass produce and instead opt for magic, mobility, and way better armor than what most humans can afford. As for when there are no humans, elves, or dwarfs to live off of they are usually fighting other undead or Chaos affected enemies, which they wouldn't want to consume. And i'm pretty sure in lore, during that situation they store blood for "the journey" or they just start feeding on any human servants they brought along.
yeah, solid point on humans not being the threat. werewolves, and other supernatural creatures are more dangers to the vampire. ghouls, revenants, ghosts, poltergeist. WoD the forests belong to the wolves. a WW will shred an entire group of vampires.
I was almost expecting him to suggest a dagger that was scales to fit creature about 9 feet tall... ... and then I realised that it would be anti-vampire weapon
You make an excellent point - when talking about vampires, it's always important to specify *which* vampires you're talking about. I had a buddy who insisted that vampires were whiny and "emo," thanks to Anne Rice and Twilight, and that they weren't cool; I insisted that vampires were quite cool indeed, thinking of Castlevania and urban fantasy. We were both right.
Somehow this is a perfect video for this channel to tackle. Skallagrim certainly nailed down the "atmosphere". _Blade_ the daywalker made do with leather clothes, contemporary firearms (at first), and a couple of katanas - which seems fairly good enough for "Vampire" everyday use. Thank you for a fun video! Hope everyone has a spooky good Samhain and an enjoyable All Hallow's Eve ! 👻 🎃 ☠️
@@PobortzaPl Blade's sword in all three movies had a straight blade. It most closely resembles a custom jian (which Skall comments on at 1:49-2:17) but with a circular guard resembling that of a spatha. Deacon Frost used a katana in his final battle with Blade. In Blade II Nyssa and Assad used wakizashis and in Blade: Trinity Drake used a custom sword somewhat resembling a grosse messer.
@Wright805 I have to admit it... ... as far I hadn't watched any other Blade movie than first... ... but I went full squealing fan when Wesley Snipes showed up in the newest "Deadpool".
_ Normally a sword umbrella for day & a sword cane by night. The vampire most valuable tool in hunting human is that they normally look human, allowing them to approach prey & attack so a non-threatening looking weapon is a must. _ If it's war against other vampire then they would have to use anti-vampire weapon but with a safe way to hold them: silver sword with non silver handle & hilt(some version of vampire is weak to silver), holy water(in a bottle then throw it Castlevania stye)
So I once wrote a story where the vampires were based very much on scientifics. In fact, one of the big things about them is that one of the big myths was the whole bat imagery that came from miscommunications from the plague. Their actual species is basically an offshoot from mosquitoes, which makes a hell of a lot more sense. And I had a lot of fun coming up with unique weaknesses. So for example staking them and stuff does not work. They also are No religious Powers so they aren't acceptable to things that would be used in religion. Instead. You really have to aim for where they're located inside their head and have a weapon capable of taking them out in one hit because not only can they instantly regenerate their host but their actual body inside the head has limited regenerative capacities that's beyond human but not instantane. Absolute fun thing is the whole concept of garlic where all vampires can feed on human blood and filter out most toxins that are dangerous to humans such as various bloodborne illnesses and they're immune to alcohol. Garlic which is completely harmless to us has the same chemical reactive patterns that THC cannabis does. So a weapon that humans use when they have to deal with vampire populations. Is they launch tear gas type canisters that's filled with the same chemical compounds that garlic has, which is completely disorients the vampires and thus they're easier to deal with. Is a fun method on like the twist of their mythology
@@jordanwhite352 Cool idea. In most of the scientific vampire stories I've seen, garlic(vampire have extreme sharp sense of smell) & sunlight(they are nocturnal, or have allergy to sunlight) are still weaknesses
"silver sword with non silver handle & hilt(some version of vampire is weak to silver)," True, but a weapon made out of silver would break far too easily. What you'd need is a steel sword and then electroplate the blade with silver.
@gokbay3057 Not when their entire species is roughly the size of a human head and the way they reproduce is they lay eggs into the head via the mouth into a dead corpse in the larvae eats the brain, then hooks up to the rest of the nervous system and then they basically become the new brain to the body reanimating it and rejuvenating it and essentially using the corpse as a puppet to blend into society that it feeds off of. 😁
Obviously it's leather pants, fingerless gloves for three fingers per hand, and a cool red cape sash. For weapons, a wavy-bladed sword with skull decoration, like the blade is the skull's tongue, ready to lick the blood immediately out of your enemies' wounds... or perhaps their souls. Kain rocked that look ages ago. Kidding aside, sick look, man. Happy Halloween!
In Chronicles of Darkness, cutting weapons are the choice of most vampires for other vampires. They even have a fighting style the character can learn.
It's interesting that when ultra thick plate armor comes into play, all those "human" blade optimizations also become valuable. Beware the armored vampire with Fortitude!
Steel plate is only a solid if the thing hitting it is going less than about 830 m/s, so beware the hunter with Celerity, or a .30-06, or a .22/250, because those little quiet pills can *shift.*
Good point about the heavier armor. A vampire in extra-thick plate wielding an executioner sword would absolutely suck. Can't wait to add it to my next undead campaign for DnD
Depending on how comfortable you are with leaning into the regen, I'd say one can do without much armor on their extremities altogether! Sure, something for the arms to keep a grip on weapons, but a nice cuirass should cover the most pertinent of Vampiric weakpoints. Even a helmet's 50/50, decapitation *alone* isn't fatal and quite unlikely if you're quick. anyways looking good Skall nice to see you've joined the winning team
Dude you should defenetly do more "what arms and armor would X use" stuff, its always thought provoking + seein you play the character bit is fun, Happy Halloween mate
The weapons of the Dyvok Clan from Jay Kristoff’s Empire of the Damned did vampire weapons well in my opinion. They wielded HUGE swords, hammers, etc. with crazy amounts of force behind them. Often times turning their mortal enemies to red mist or completely lopping them in half. Great video Skallagrim! 🧛🏻♂️
I agree a lighter, more balanced weapon is wasted fighting puny humans, but if one is forced to fight their own kind, then having a better balanced blade will give you an advantage against a similarly enhanced foe wielding a point-heavy weapon.
One I always had as an idea was a fighting cane with a steel core and a lead filled head it’s basically a one and a half to two handed mace. Which blends in and doesn’t attract mortal attention, is atheisticly pleasing and best of all still has the culture required of a noble.
Years ago i was trying to figure out a weapon for an elder vampire to use in a story. Wanted something simple, but unnerving. If you saw it, you wouldn't think much of it, but once an undying monster starts wielding it one-handed, it becomes the most terrifying thing in the world. Settled on something close to a solid steel billet, formed to resemble a baseball bat or kanabō club. Starting to think i was on the right train of thought.
My group got to watch the city's sherrif in action recently. A shovelhead got torn in half by being hit with her steel cane. Blunt weapons and Potence are a fearsome combination.
Reminds me of that one vampire character from Shadow Hearts: Covenant, who fought with one of those big, red Victorian cast iron Royal Mail post boxes which he just picked up off the street somewhere... among other things.
I would think a go-to weapon for vamps especially for more modern times would be daggers. Could easily take advantage of supernatural speed to mitigate the range weakness and your strength would make them as powerful as a full size blade in the hands of a mortal as well as being concealable
For Vlad Tepes(aka Vlad Dracul) the sword would probably be the kilij. Armour would have to protect against decapitation, and piercing of the heart. So, a Armet, large Gorget, Hauberk mail attached coif, heavy gauge torso plate armour, probably in the Milanese style.
Funnily enough with super strength&speed, there are thrown things that should be lethal enough…tungsten sling bullets without a need for a sling? My best guess armor wise before watching would be a late renaissance heavy breastplate to deal with their weakness to being staked?
And here I was thinking along the lines of the kris or flamberge, katar, and heavy axe. Sure, you'd get coated with blood and gore, but that would lead to a vampire's second favorite thing: a fresh change of clothing.
Yes, I still have to watch the video, but I‘ll throw in my 2cent anyway. Situation 1: Nobody knows that you are a vampire and you don‘t want to blow your cover. -> Pick something that a normal though maybe skilled human of your built would use. You come across as a noble? Use a rapier. You come across as a poor citizen? Use a knife, a cane, or anything else somebody from such a background might use. Situation 2: You are in a situation where there are either no witnesses, or where people know about you being a vampire. -> Don‘t hold back and use whatever cause the most damage!
Well, what weapon a vampire should use really depends on the situation he would need to use it. For everynight use against mortals, other minor threats and for self defence I'd recommend a dagger and a sturdy walking cane with a solid head. The cane would add to the style, could be used to parry, bludgeon and not getting your clothes dirty. I also see a retractable or sheathed spike or blade at the botton. The dagger would be a more visceral tool of self defence for close combat. It would not clash with style as it can be hidden. Given the superior strength and speed this combo would be suitable for most encounters on regular nights. Considering real fighting and warfare, I think a modified bow with equally modified arrows would be feasable. With superior strentgh the pull weight a vampire could manage would be devastating, so a vampire could use a bow with basically the power of a small siege weapon. Of course, the arrows would have to be reinforced or even have metal shafts otherwise they would break when shot. For close combat I think something like a guandao or a naginata would be quite effective - if the blades are strong enough to withstand the vampire's strength. You'd have quite the reach and deal horrible damage with a fully swung cut. Plus, these weapons can be quite stylish to look at. Another multipurpose option would be a pollaxe. The vampire could skewer his enemies, cut them to pieces or smash them to a puddle, whatever he'd choose. The question of armor is quite interesting. Of course a vampire is able to wear much thicker and heavier armor. However, unless we are talking of one of the elder and extremely powerfull vampires, there comes a tipping point where the heavier weight costs too much of the superior speed and strength - two of the main advantages a vampire has over mortals. Furthermore, there would be concern of the vampire damaging the armor simply by moving in it. Since there are plates sliding over one another, joints that move and amor's natural tendency to restrict movement and making certain movements quite impossible, I'd fear the armor would break simply bacause the vampire's strentgh and speed would wear it down.
For armor I like to think that a vampire would use something that is around the heaviest weight that humans in their time are using. Because it might be so heavy for a frail, weak human but a vampire should still be able to move comfortable. Or they just go the other extreme and fight only in their underwear, dodging with supreme speed while distracting the enemy with their dashing good looks.
@@Franky_Sthein I still fear a human plate armor would break when the vampire's strength would exceed the armor's range of motion. Depending on the kind of vampire and their power they wouldn't need any armor at all when fighting humans. The only exception would be an armor that blocks sunlight when fighting in the day.
The time of year Skall can show his true vampire form (comes out of the basement) 😂 I jest, sir. I was looking forward to seeing what you may have in store for Halloween, and you didn't disappoint this blood bag 😂 Happy Halloween 🎃 Edit: the Vampire drip is immaculate👌
I wish we had more Heroic fantasy vampire movies and series, might be an unpopular opinion, but I love Dracula Untold because it shows the level of power a real vampire lord can have, a shame they never continued the story...
I imagine a classy vampire would bring with themselves a standard thrusting sword, perhaps slightly thicker than usual, for the status and to appear more noble like. However, they would also have a custom made, extremely ornate 2 hand broadsword, much beefier than anything a human could ever wield properly, which like you said would be able to withstand their super natural strenght, and they would reserve it for the "special occasions" where more lethality is required. It would basically also double as a bludgeon from it's weight.
Great video, Skall. Happy Samhain. Weapon choice would vary depending on the setting and/or circumstances. Personal preferences and training must be taken into consideration, too. Some of my choices might be: When blending in and hunting for human blood, a concealable weapon like a dagger or a swordstick would be most suitable. For warfare, either a naginata or a war hammer would be my choices. When travelling or in the countryside, where attacking from a distance is feasible, a bow could be absolutely deadly. In melee range, a quarterstaff could work well.
yay! cosplay episode! Nailed the costuming and RP. Imagine breaking your favorite sword because you get excited forgot it is meant for mortals. So completely decorative... like a mall ninja sword... but you went on a spree and in your enthusiasm for the moment... you snapped the blade of your favorite exquisitely ornate rapier... Vampire problems.
Great vid! The sound was also very dark, lots of reverb and pan switching which had a cool effect! Also I always played Heroes of Might and Magic 4 and 5 but only this month started playing 6 whilst it's out for like 15 years already so it feels very obscure to know where the thumbnail is from cause that game (6) wasn't very popular at all 😂
I love the idea of a walking tank vampire wearing plate thick enough to stop everything short of artillery shells being a special unit dropped into a fight, like sentient (magical)society adopting all kinds of races and applying them where needed in a war
The best weapons and armor for Vampires is beauty, poise and grace. Melee combat is damaging to the food source. But if they must be armed, brutality would be a necessity. Pollaxe, war hammer, polearms in general. For brutal decapitations and massive blunt damage to give instant 'meals ' or save em for later.
I would really love more videos about fighting fantasy creatures in a realistic setting. I’d love to know the best ways to fight bigger creatures, faster creatures, and elemental creatures; even though it will literally never affect me in any capacity.
When I first started writing I had this idea for a vampire character that wielded a pair of steel escrima sticks with a large tungsten core for extra weight. The idea was that she had enough finesse to use them non lethally against a human, but the extra mass was helpful against any beasties she might run into. Revisiting the idea I would have them engraved with intricate rose patterns that are highlighted any time she hits something hard enough to draw blood. Extra grip PLUS style points!
Excellent analysis (and energy rivaling the april fools smallsword video), the one thing I'd add is that a for vampires who's physical weaknesses are decapitation and wood through the heart a thick high necked breastplate could prove rather useful, deflecting decapitating blows and shattering any wooden weapons attempting to find purchase.
Basket hilts are a thing of beauty, and the hand protection does mean you can win a fight with much less suspicion by minimising the outward signs of ones physical abilities, the bind is the best use for strength in this style anyhow, so long as you do not wish to spare the opponent, if you do then don't pick fights in the first place. Really though it is best to wear what is in style, it's not like you need a sword in the first place.
Yeah, this video has reignited my idea of exploring a vampires in unique ways again and it would be really interesting because most of our vampire mythology comes from Western Europe interpreting different mythologies from Eastern Europe and the fact that multiple cultures have vampire stories. It'd be really fun to like see vampire Society and weaponary that's not based on the whole coven aristocratic idea, but more of the idea that they live like ninjas. That they would have weapons but they would all be concealed as like normal human objects and the whole point of their society is to fake it until you make it. I think aspects of it were kind of exploring the blade films, but I would love to see that taken to like an extreme degree.
Alucard's other weapon that gets forgotten is his "Alucard Spear", he gave it to the Spanish Lecarde family, and you play as the Vampire hunter named Eric Lecarde in Castlevania bloodlines. The Spear at first resembles a trident but when fully upgraded the other two blades pull back and it resembles a Japanese Jumonji yari spear
My favorite pick is a yoyo made with heavy metal. It's unconventional, yes, but that's why people would be less likely to expect an incoming BONK. Even if they saw it coming, yoyo tricks are very different from normal martial arts so it has some element of surprise (though I'm well aware it doesn't help much irl). Also it's a blunt weapon so the victim would have minimal bleeding, because I don't like wasting food. Against other vampires it may be not as potent as actual weapons, but for hunting and sneak attacks it feels quite useful.
My first thought on weapon choice: A poleaxe with an large, exaggerated cutting edge - basically THE symbol of status. Big, beautiful, historied - might even be an antique they preserved. Practically, you get the benefits of cutting, stabbing, reach, you swing it faster than most because of your supernatural strength and speed, even at a low power scale, being twice as fast and strong means your heavy weapon is covering distance faster than a rapier and will cleave limbs and shatter shields. In the bind you are likely to fling the person grappling with you into a wall. Anyone who gets inside your striking arc is now throat to teeth with you... which sounds like a win. Bonus points because you are now carrying an axe to cut your way through burning buildings. We all know how humans like to burn anything better than them. Armour is harder to determine because it depends on the level of resilience of the vampire in question. Do they bleed? Do they require their internal organs to be intact? Are we talking regenerative abilities like Deadpool or would it still take them a day or two to recover from a broken wrist? Heavy, more impervious armour is always going to have its value, but if you have the advantage of experience (training for more than a lifetime) and physicality, you may want to be less restricted so you can push yourself to achieve greater feats of martial prowess rather than being slowly surrounded by a dozen lightly armoured humans who are likely still in the same position of needing to score some kind of lethal blow against the segments of your oversized plate to incapacitate you. If we assume a resilience scale where pain is a thing you can overcome and wounds that take a human months to recover take less than a minute we only have to worry about lethal strikes and not glancing hits: a sturdy breastplate is all it would take to prevent a strike to the heart (certainly wooden weapons). A thick gorget atop it prevents most of the risk of beheading. A roman brigetio helmet designed to minimize obstruction and maximize senses could be reasonable, there is the risk of an open face design but a vampiric warrior can likely turn most direct hits into glancing blows onto one of the plates on the side or top of the head and that risk allows them the benefit of having access to their fangs as a weapon where a closed helmet wouldnt. The risk factors for the rest of the body are primarily loss of limb - a thing humans cannot really continue fighting after. Vampires would likely only need a decent suit of mail to prevent any severing. If their arm is struck and their bones broken, they could retreat and reset the bone which would then heal within a short timeframe and they could be back in the fight.
Obviously a werewolf companion to sic on opponents, restrain prey, and compensate for a vampire's weaknesses. Everyone assumes vampires and werewolves are enemies, but -we- they actually go way back.
When I think of swords used by vampires, two images always come up: the Soul Reaver from the Legacy of Kain games or D's sword from Vampire Hunter D. Both seem appropriate for the job, especially since the Reaver drains blood and eat souls, but D's sword seems to strike a balance between an estoc and a sabre.
"Touch tombstones" is fantastic

Surely a whip.
au contraire my friend, everything BUT a whip.
It worked for Dracula in Lords of Shadow! Alongside a sword and two gauntlets.
The bladed whip in Dracula 2 was pretty badass
Are you a Belmont? 😂
Good god he's becoming a Belmont
Brain on Warhammer:
Those vampires already have a steady supply of humans that they feed on since they are either an Aristocracy with a human lower class/slaves OR marauding pirates that kidnap elves, humans, dwarfs, probably lizardmen when they need to feed.
When I heard “World of darkness” hes DEFINITELY talking about the monsters and vampires from that world!
I was almost expecting him to suggest a dagger that was scales to fit creature about 9 feet tall...
... and then I realised that it would be anti-vampire weapon
Thanks for specifying which exact vampires right in the beginning
Might be the vest, but you look GREAT. Congrats on the weight loss; I've done that song and dance and its very hard work.
I think Warhammer, just look at Mannfred's armour, he might be an asshole, but he's stylish as fuck.
so your friend thinks vampires are all Clan Toreador while you think Ventrue or Lasombra?
yes skall is a world of darkness vampire fan! makes sense
Having you mention World of Darkness gave me mental whiplash... I am so happy lmao

I'm quite sure Blade's sword from first movie had a straight blade. And he was also using big UV flashlight.
You'll need something that conducts Hamon well.
@@jordanwhite352 Being mosquitos would make them need to be giant insects which makes them a lot more unrealistic than giant humanoid bats.
"silver sword with non silver handle & hilt(some version of vampire is weak to silver),"
True, but a weapon made out of silver would break far too easily.
"Emphasis on the thrust" Mmmmmmmm yes mortal peasant, describe the elongated object with vigor!
I really enjoy hearing the perspective directly from a Vampire instead of a speculating mortal. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
In Chronicles of Darkness, cutting weapons are the choice of most vampires for other vampires. They even have a fighting style the character can learn.
Having an aesthetic section feature heavily and channeling the energy from the smallswords short really elevate this, i love it
I played a Lasombra that liked to use a flanged mace. Solid steel is good for when you're supernaturally strong.

I have a podcast about Vampire: the Masquerade’s historical setting, Vampire: the Dark Ages, so this video was right up my alley. :)
A vampire with a taste for the dramatic? I thought that was the only thing they tasted more than blood.
Love the Halloween special Skal.

So chill, love the energy here!
Not much of a commenter here on UA-cam, but i have to say:
Damn Skall, i LOVE your writing!
I agree a lighter, more balanced weapon is wasted fighting puny humans, but if one is forced to fight their own kind, then having a better balanced blade will give you an advantage against a similarly enhanced foe wielding a point-heavy weapon.
I must admit, Skall has always had a great sense of fashion.
Happy Halloween Dark Lord Skall!
One I always had as an idea was a fighting cane with a steel core and a lead filled head it’s basically a one and a half to two handed mace. Which blends in and doesn’t attract mortal attention, is atheisticly pleasing and best of all still has the culture required of a noble.
Thanks for brightening my day!
@@PrototypeSpaceMonkey Nice to see good old Joachim is not forgotten.
Now what kind of damage would a vampire do with a frozen tuna?
Happy Halloween skall!!! 🤘🎃
I love the Spooktober shenanigans. 😂 Happy and safe Halloween, Skall!
I would think a go-to weapon for vamps especially for more modern times would be daggers. Could easily take advantage of supernatural speed to mitigate the range weakness and your strength would make them as powerful as a full size blade in the hands of a mortal as well as being concealable
A human-repellent spray should do the trick
Ah yes, the mustard gas spray.

This being from the vampire's perspective was really fun!
the sound editing in this videos was dope!! seems Skall had fun editing this one :D

@@LordReginaldMeowmont Even better. :3
i'd say that a flamberge greatsword with soul devouring abilities is the perfect for a vampire. "Kidred, this blade and I".
Soo...the Soul Reaver from Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain?
Some of my choices might be:
When blending in and hunting for human blood, a concealable weapon like a dagger or a swordstick would be most suitable.
Also I always played Heroes of Might and Magic 4 and 5 but only this month started playing 6 whilst it's out for like 15 years already so it feels very obscure to know where the thumbnail is from cause that game (6) wasn't very popular at all 😂
You just get what makes good content!
I was just thinking about this. Perfect timing.
I love the idea of a walking tank vampire wearing plate thick enough to stop everything short of artillery shells being a special unit dropped into a fight, like sentient (magical)society adopting all kinds of races and applying them where needed in a war
"Touch tombstones or something." That should be on a Count Skallagrim shirt!
This is completely separate from the the subject matter, but your voice filter gave me mad nostalgia vibes for the Swedish version of Dungeon Keeper.
Surely a staff or cudgel.
5:49 LETS GO BLUNT IMPACT WEAPON SUPREMACY
Ah yes, the good ol' stick, never fails
Don't be daft. Undead nobility would never use a "peasant's weapon."
Probably just a sturdy mail to keep wooden stakes away and a facemask against garlick smell :P
*Please* at least add a codpiece!
The Vampire Counts in Warhammer Fantasy have some really nice looking armor designs.
Skall looking like brom stokers Dracula…awesome!!
Would be interesting to see your take on the vampire Day Armour shown in the Castlevania animated series.
Fancy walking stick that looks very light. Turns out that under the decorative finery, it's solid tungsten.
Always found for a good vamp video
My first thought on weapon choice:
A poleaxe with an large, exaggerated cutting edge - basically THE symbol of status.
Sick looks, sick video.
A lance and blood manipulation. Worked really well for Don Quixote.
