Wow, I'm surprised how good these guys really are.
Super underrated because of the theatrics. The first half of their career is like they were trying to find themselves - experimenting with different style and sounds - but from Violence Has Arrived on... just brutal! Even the Blothar stuff is heavy!
Violence Has Arrived and War Party forward, these guys found their METAL sound and any album of theirs after 2001 is pretty damn excellent quality metal. Lust In Space is especially good!
GWAR is the best! 💚👽 nobody puts on as good of a show as them

They’re songs are good but their shows are creepy asf!
I hate to be "that guy" but I just can't get into GWAR without Brockie. Blothar's vocals just don't drip with sarcasm like Brockie's did. Changes the whole vibe to me. And I know it's not a headline gig but there's only one "classic" tune in the set. All that said, they sound great musically and I'm glad to see them opening for a bigger band. I'll keep checking out new stuff as they release it but sadly my GWAR no longer exists. 😢
I'm right there with you, seen them so many times in the 90's, you are spot on, really miss Dave, glad their still touring though. I got to take my kids to see them last year and that was pretty cool🤘
to be fair, They did not want another Dave. They wanted something completely different and with blothar being that and an original member as the first Beefcake it makes sense. But i’m 100% with you on the thing about only 1 classic. I’m seeing them on the 10th and they were the reason for me to go and to know that they’ll only play 1 classic song is sad and disappointing.
@skyrtvoid0987 all good, and good to know, I did kinda stop buying albums after 5th one, super glad I got to see them so many times with Dave, and it's awesome their still doing tours after 30+ years🤘
@@skyrtvoid0987Main tour will have Abyss of Woe (hasn’t been played since 2003) Horror of Yig and Immortal Corrupter. But I hate New Dark ages being played so much, I get that Blothar wants to market it, but I wanna hear some classics to.
@@jordanpustelnik2568 I wish they’d play songs like Je M’ Appelle J. Cousteau, Black and Huge, Death pod, Penis I see, Hate Love songs, Dirty Filthy and just more understated songs.
Huge Gwar fan but I have to say when you lose the most important member if your band it's kind of done after that.
