How To Repair A Nintendo Switch That Gets Wet!

- My Nintendo Switch recently fell in the toilet. After letting the device dry out over a few days I attempted to turn on the Nintendo Switch. Unfortunately, nothing worked; the Switch was showing a black screen. I immediately went online in search for a new Switch and discovered they are very hard to find in stock. Fortunately, I decided to give this a try. Not only did this work but it also saved me a bundle of money.

This seems to be a common issue. A Nintendo Switch falling into a toilet, bath, sink or maybe it was washed. The Switch no longer turns on. The Switch just shows a black screen. There's no sound. One option is to send the Switch to Nintendo for repair. Another option is purchasing a new or used Switch. However, simply replacing the battery may solve the problem.

Mine fell off the edge and into a big gulp cup with about 1/4 of an inch of lemonade. Only one end got wet. (The end with the SD card). I powered it off and removed the controls, the game card and the SD card. I wiped the outside down with a disinfectant wipe. I tried tapping the control that got wet to knock out any moisture that I could. I guess I will let it dry out for a few days and see if I have any luck. I hope I am not screwed. I paid, (like all of us) a lot of money for this. I bought the Zelda skin. 😩😩😭😭😫😫.

This video was a lifesaver, I spilled water on my Nintendo switch Lite and then wiped it off. Maybe 10 minutes later I was watching UA-cam and my entire console froze. I was pressing every button including the power button but nothing worked. Eventually the screen turned off but it was blowing slightly White. I didn't know what to do but after seeing this video I decided to try pressing and holding in the power button for like 30 seconds and it turned it back on and it's working fine now. I would have never thought to do that without seeing this video.

I dropped it in the toilet with my SD chip in it and when I tried charging it it didn’t even show the charging icon

Mine got fucking wet with nail polish and I also got nail polish remover and water on it. My parents spent so much money on that switch. It is 3 years old and I think I just fucking broke it.

dropped my switch in water and it was completely submerged but it turned on and still works somehow i think it was because of the case i had it in

Probably not just use a proven method or let the Nintendo switch company fix it
My son set down his switch next to the sink to wash his hands and knocked it into the sink while the water was running. We tried turning it on while plugged. Nothing 😔
idk if mines screwed because it feel fully in the sink and couldn’t be dried quickly because there wasn’t a towel nearby

Broooo I was cleaning my entire freaking switch lite and it got into the cooling vent and oh boy did a bit to much get in there? Yuuuurp indeed it did and uhhh now im screwed because I need to get my screen fixed but I dont have the guts to come up to my mom or dad and say I need to talk to you abt something and then say what happened yk..... I dont know what to do now because Ive been trying to fix it and now it wont even power up its just completly dead wont charge either so now im really worried

I was out side on my porch and my battery started to die I put it down to run inside to grab my charger I started talking to my girlfriend and I heard it started raining I ran out and grabbed it and it was not soaked one joycon was wet so I powered down my switch and opened the switch and cleaned out the little bit of water that got in near the memory card slot the switch works just like it should just one joycon is acting funny disconnecting and crazy button ghost presses going to take the joycon apart when I get home from work and make sure there is no water or water damage

My son just peed on he’s! To busy playing that he couldn’t stop playing and pee. It was vibrating when I seen it and I took off the controllers and it turned out completely. Now I’m waiting to see if it drys up
