    Thanks for the video. It is very detailed and covers most of the main sights. I am traveling to Verona among other cities in Bologna in Apr 2020, and look forward to experiencing this city with my wife and daughter. Hopefully I get to eat as much parma ham :)

    I studied abroad in Verona in the summer of 2016! Legend says that if you touch Juliet’s right breast, it grants you good luck in your love life. That’s why everyone was touching her hahaha, but of course if you didn’t know it seems really strange and rude

    • @PerfectLittlePlanet
      @PerfectLittlePlanet  7 років тому +3

      Haha, that makes sense. Funny how traditions and legends come about - they do seem so strange and out of place if you don't know about them! That must have been so great to live in Verona for a summer! -Brian

    Interesting video! As regards to people taking a pic holding Juliet's breast, it's not disrespectful at all...According to tradition, touching Juliet's statue's right breast is a good luck charm for happiness, love, and fertility. In fact, the statue is the guardian of true love and by touching her bosom someone is guaranteed the luck in love Juliet never had.

    Hello. is it recommended to buy a verona card to go to the places where you've been to? Thank you!

    • @PerfectLittlePlanet
      @PerfectLittlePlanet  5 років тому

      The card is valid for 24 or 48 hours, so if it's worth it depends on how many sights you can get to in whichever time frame you choose. Make a list of where you want to visit, see if they have free or reduced entry with the Verona card and then check to see if you would pay more for the tickets if you were to buy them individually. Does that make sense? It's a little bit of a process. Just remember, it has to be within the time frame. That's always the catch-trying to fit in everything offered within just one or two days! :) Hope this helps and let us know if you have any more questions! -Isa

    Will be going to Verona next month. Should I pre-book tickets to enter sites/attractions eg. Juliet's house? It seems Verona is not as busy or crowded as Rome, just wondering if I can buy tickets on the spot without having to line up for long queues?

    • @PerfectLittlePlanet
      @PerfectLittlePlanet  6 років тому +1

      I wouldn't pre-book anything, especially in September. Maybe in the summer during the busy season, but it shouldn't be too busy when you're there. We didn't stand in any lines at all for any attractions, so you should be fine buying them on the spot. -Brian

    Is the main city centre far from the airport? Like is it walking distance? I’d be arriving way before my check in time and was curious if it’s easy to stroll around with my small luggage all day?

    • @stefanogabrielli7130
      @stefanogabrielli7130 5 років тому +1

      It is not very far but impossible by walking. There is a bus shuttle all the day from airport to the train station.

    • @PerfectLittlePlanet
      @PerfectLittlePlanet  5 років тому

      Yes, like Stefano said, take the shuttle in. The train station where the bus drops you off is at the south end of Verona. From there, it'll be about a 15-minute walk to Piazza Bra and the Arena. You should have no problem walking around with a small piece of luggage. Have fun! -Brian

    Hi. Lovely video.
    Just want to ask coz I'll be going to Verona in July. Would you recommend booking for the hop on off bus or walking tour or bike tour? I just to make the most out of Verona. My friends and I will arrive on July 5 then leave on July 7. So technically, we have 1 whole day to explore the city.
    Hope to hear from you guys. Thanks.

    • @PerfectLittlePlanet
      @PerfectLittlePlanet  7 років тому

      We wouldn't recommend the bus, since a lot of the places you want to get to are easier to access on foot. The town is small, so you can walk the entire thing easily. We walked over 30,000 steps here though (because we zig-zagged around), so if you're not used to walking a lot, the bike tour may be your best bet. Have fun! -Brian

    5:52 Tourists do this, because, according to a popular tradition, Juliet is said to be the "keeper of lovers", so touching the statue's breast brings good luck, which is why it has this lighter color right where it is touched. Just like, for example, the Wall Street Bull in New York, which is believed that touching the testicles gives you a better chance of getting rich. 😅😂

      A parte la religione, cattolica, (uno può credere o no),
      le Chiese, le Cattedrali, le Basiliche, le Cripte, i Battisteri, il Duomo, ecc, sono Monumenti che non si può tralasciare di visitare in questo (piccolo ma Grande Paese),
      è la parte migliore della nostra storia, l'Arte
      Scultura - Pittura, la Musica, la Lingua, La Letteratura (Div. Comm.), tutto questo fa sentire l'Italia come
      la più grande Madre del Mondo.
      fate bene a farci vedere queste meraviglie. Io stesso molte non le ho mai viste, sono davvero tante.

    Romeo and Juliet were not real people. Shakespeare based it off of the tragical history of Romeus and Juliet.It was a narrative poem. Shakespeare added a longer cast of characters new plot points and fixed loopholes or contradictions. It is narratively speeding a lot better. Even then the rabbit hole goes deeper to even more love tragedies from earlier authors.

    Good video. Could have been more detailed in the given time limit. Too much unsteady camera. Visit to shops was irrelevant..

      Thank you for the suggestions and pointers. Don't tell my wife the visit to the shops was irrelevant. We may not have bought anything, but she loves window shopping. :) Hope you have a great day! -Brian

    You do know Romeo and Juliet were from Siena, not Verona? Shakespeare just liked Verona so he based the play there. Anything Romeo and Juliet related there is a sham designed to take your euros.

      I just did some research and apparently the version in Siena (Masuccio Salernitano's _Mariotto and Giannoza_ ) isn't the original one either! I feel like I'm in a rabbit hole and we'll never actually find the original Romeo and Juliet (if there ever even was an original version).

    Romeo and Juliette never actually lived there. That was made up by a tour guide years ago.

      Are you calling Shakespeare a tour guide? :) Kidding, yeah, unless they were real people, I'm sure somebody just decided on two places for them to "live." -Brian
