I rode these bikes in the 80s ...the designs back then are to me far more beautiful than (with due respect) todays machines. The 490 Maico is just a work of art!
I reckon a few of the older riders would of had their shox set a bit softer than what they did thirty years ago. 10/10 for this awesome vid, it brings back memories from when I was a fearless teenager that didn't think of the consequences of coming unstuck over an 80 footer. Saw a couple of my old bikes too, RM 80 N, RM. 125 N, RM 125 T, RM 250 X, CR 450 (81). CR 480 RC, CR 480 RD, and a 78 CR 250 that had Fox rear shocks and a pair of Marzorchi front forks that had 13 inches of travel. They were as far as I'm concerned the good ol days of MX racing.
Grandad MX , I remember riding those Suzuki r m s in the 70s in schoolboy M X ....Now ride a ccm 640 supermoto and a 600 Bandit when its summer, Great Track just wish they would have old sidecars as well .
I'm 50 years old now, and these machines are from an era when I lived and breathed dirt bikes. My first "real" bike was an '81 YZ100 that I got at 13 years of age, followed by an '81 KTM 250, an '81 KTM 495, an '86 KTM 500, and an '87 KX 500. Wish I had 'em all back! Nice to see all these machines still out there mixing it up

Interesting watching the old twin shock bikes - must be a real work out - they really bog out - not much room for preloading - thanks for the video :)
Needs to be more tracks like that! Surprising how good some of the vintage bikes sounded!
What a stunning place to have a race!

Excellent video. Thanks for putting it on the UA-cam
That was as pleasing for the eyes as it was for the ears, enjoyed every second of it!
Saw an awful lot of mono-shock's out there in the Twin Shock category...
Cheers great vid.
It's like being there
Those older bikes are so much twitchier, fair play lot of those guys can still haul ass!
The start of the race at the 50:21 mark looks like total chaos.
Damn Icon, need exposure much??!!
Even the sun is bright...
Great video, thanks for share!!
