Quite the ride from north county. Be careful where you tread up there, we received quite a lecture for rolling over the wrong rocks. It is o beautiful up that way, I can’t wait till we get a chance to be up there again. Alabama hills is a cool spot to chill.
I agree it’s a long way from SD but totally worth it. The rangers are definitely out on their quads. Found that out our last time up there. We will be going back to Alabama Hills as well. Thank you for watching. And commenting.

Good job on re editing. Could you give something on your build and camping equipment. Just ordered my same color Rubicon with the Xtreme package. Cant wait to get it but nice to find a You Tuber with similar overland adventure ideas. Keep up the good work.
Hey! Thank you for your comment! it is nice to find like minded people here. We are using the Rhino-rack Pioneer Platform with the Backbone System. This gives us a lot of space on top for things in general and is the perfect size to mount the rooftop tent. With the additional Backbone rack system we have no worries regarding weight on the rack/roof. I do show the backbone system in my "We bought a Rubicon Recon" video if you want to see how it looks installed. you really don't even know its there and if you like to remove the roof it doesn't hinder or change that process at all. The roof top tent we went with was the James Baroud Evasion Rooftop Tent (Standard Size). We love this tent! it stands up well in the wind because the fabric is such high quality and pulled very tight once it is locked in the up position. We have been in some every heavy wind and the noise is minimal. The mattress was just fine as purchased however it was a little firm so we put a 2 inch memory foam in and that made it perfect. We are able to leave the pillows, sleeping bags, and blankets in the tent and it folds down and locks in place just perfectly. By leaving all those things in the tent while driving it saves us a lot of space inside the Jeep. Congratulations on the Rubicon Xtreme Package that looks and sounds like a beast and should go anywhere!
wondering hows your james baroud tent perform at this kind of weather condition? is it cold at night when you inside the tent. did you get a good sleep at night?
It was still cold inside and we did get some condensation but we were able to keep warm enough and we only have 32 degree Fahrenheit bags. So we used hand and feet warmers and a couple extra blankets and slepped pretty well. Thank you for the question. Hope that helps and answers your question. Woke up pre dawn having to pee lol and that was miserably cold and took some time to get warm again. But overall pretty happy with the tent. It closes up pretty snug A busy heater would have made it totally warm I think. We will get one before we do another cold trip.
@@overlandingallegiance thanks for the great information . i have a Gazelle groud tent, my first camping trip is at big bear. night temperature gets around 0 degree C. We did not have a sleeping bag, even with the air matress my back was cold like hell. the next morning some body told us to buy a Mr buddy heater. To this day I haven't had a chance to use it. i was search for a roof top tent and james baroud using different type of faberic , and its a expensive tent, thought it will make a difference. but from your review i think it makes no difference 🤣
@@hunting762 I believe there is an insulation kit for our tent however we don’t have it It would probably be something we would buy if we intended to do a lot of extream cold weather camping. I will say the high end fabrics and design of the tent are perfect for us. It makes little to no noise in the wind and does protect from the elements pretty well. It is expensive no doubt. It has worn very well over many trips and a full year of use. No matter what roof top you get I believe it will no doubt enhance your Overlanding/camping experience. Hope to see you out on an adventure some day.

@@hunting762 rhino adventure gear. They have two stores one in San Marcos down in north San Diego county and one up north in the San Francisco area. I’m that way I want to see it and touch it before I buy and the San Marcis store had one set up in their showroom. We were able to climb up in it lay on the mattress etc. wife was sold instantly. Of course she was she has expensive taste lol. Hope that helps.
