If it was my car I would refit the original wing, after paint correction. If that doesn't work one could then go for a repaint. That Techart wing is an utter monstrosity to my eyes, looking like a commercial barbeque or a piece of HVAC equipment. A beautiful colour combo and a true design classic (Techart contribution excepted!) Timeless class. Enjoy.
Personally I'd keep the Techart spoiler on, Looks like they've done a really good job on the paint correction, all for £1700, makes Topaz look very expensive.
Thank you. Just a beautiful car in a beautiful colour, beautifully prepped. I'd go with the original rear panel, brought back to life rather than repainted. Enjoy!
Outrageously gorgeous Love the wing , gives it a wonderful stance One of the finest , in the world ( Clarkson voice ) Great video Damian , you’re one lucky B 🏴
Looks fantastic Damian. I did have to laugh when it started raining after all the effort that had gone in to making the car look mint. Torn on the spoiler, love the original look but then the spoiler also adds quite a unique look!
I bought a machine polisher and used Meguiars products and online tutorials to basically do this to my old ‘Datsun’ and the results were amazing… no doubt you got a professional job done at a professional price but it is possible to achieve a very close result at home for a fraction of that cost.
Looks incredible. I’d get the original lid back on, but not repainted, just buffed to the same state as the rest of the car. Also, are you going to get the leather seats brought back to life? That would finish it off. Get that David Dickinson tan removed and give it some love too!
@Richard Jones .. +1. . My $.02 cents also, install the original engine deck lid. . The OEM Split Grill deck lid shown "off the car" is not original to the Carrera C4S 4wd models, however was original to the Carerra C2S 2wd model 993. . Ditch the goofy winged deack lid, replaceing it with an original C4S deck lid .. The shade of green color looks fantastic on the 993 coupe. .. Super well done. .. Signed an original '98 Carrera C2S owner.. (Arctic silver w/black full leather)
I can appreciate the love this man has for the 993...I leased a 95' 993 midnight blue w/grey graphite from 98-99 and turned it in after lease expired...The exceptional mark this Porsche hit resonates within so deeply compared to the 4 other Porsches i've owned...Nothing comparesd to the 993 IMHO...style, air and driveability has no rival I recently purchased a 2000 996 C2 in phenominal shape and maintenance and altho it is a nice car it is not a 993 Congrats on a nice find and the color ? WOW love it!!!treat her right and she wont ever let you down😎 cheers from California!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cracking job, looks the nuts. personally I like the techart spoiler so I’d be leaving that on, and perhaps get the O.G one reconditioned for if ever I changed my mind or sold the car.
Really like that colour combo, so much nicer than all the sliver or grey 993’s out there. And definitely repaint that OG deck lid and get if back on there 👍 Andy 🏴
Enjoyed this, I keep thinking about getting my 15 year old yellow S2000 paint corrected but I use it for fast road driving and I don't want to feel too paranoid about stone chips. Once a car is perfect, it becomes stressful maintaining it!
Beautiful! The green really is a great colour for it. For what it’s worth, I would put original lid back on. But if it was me, I would enjoy it as it is for a couple of months and worry about the lid during winter.
Really enjoy these videos. The previous air cooled started the man economics working and bought a 1982 911 sc, alongside the 991.2 gt3 and Macan gts. This c4s, is stunning love the colour, but I’d go with original rear end all day long
For me, I put the original split grill lid back on. That's what makes the C4S special, the split grill. And also, the look from the rear without the big wing is even more aggressive. I was never into all these outrageous tail on the 911 with exception of the original whale tail where it look good from all angles, esp. the side. When the 993 came out with the RS, it was beautiful, the tail and that special subtle front side spoilers. Then came the RSR and the look was dreadful. The front side air scoops and the even worse looking tail. Anyhow, the work done is amazing! WOW!
Just LOOOOOK at it …, she is a beauty Damian, awesome additional to the ever growing Porsche section of the car guys garage… IMHO back to standard tail gate , give it a ruddy good T cut and see how she comes up 👌🏻
Get that Techart thing off asap, and change the gear knob to original or get an aftermarket, non porsche stylish knob. A Boxter knob just doesn´t belong in this car! - Replace the worn seat centers with leather basket weave in beige/green. Replace those black carpet mats with originals. Maybe get a dry ice treatment of the underside and engine bay, for your viewers? Love the car and love the color. Lucky man.
A knockout job.. love the colour on the car. Original wing but just polished too retain originality. You should be well chuffed. Thanks for sharing the journey.
Well I am drunk now Damian thank you very much…. on that lovely green paint work, I know I will get some hate, but I rather like that Techart wing it works very well and typically I am not. A Big wing man ! ! !
Great review Damien, And Jake did a great job. It's almost as lovely as my Guards Red 993Turbo. Ha Green looks lovely too, pity it rained straight away. As for the deck lid. Well the techART lid is good, as for the original.....well that is not the original lid either. Only the C2S came with the split louvred lid. Yours should have the grill the full way across. So it's been replaced at some point. Sorry to say. You can google it, your car comes up quite a bit too.
The 993 is a dream car of mine - definitely a poster car from when I was young - especially with the wide body (like a Turbo). Normally I'm not one for mods but I like the Techart wing on this. If it were me, I'd leave that on but would get the original done up and stored carefully ready to go back on if ever required. Either way - enjoy...! :)
Tech-Art wing. Reminds me of my friend in Philadelphia that drove a yellow 1997 911 Turbo S. At that time I had a 928GTS and my other friend had a blue BMW 850csi. Those were the days...
Enjoy.
Fascinating episode. “Just as it rains” said absolutely everyone after detailing a special car…
Personally I'd keep the Techart spoiler on, Looks like they've done a really good job on the paint correction, all for £1700, makes Topaz look very expensive.
Paying for the name
I've a 1996 993 C2 iris blue metallic, 66,000 miles, 6-speed manny tranny, varioram. No CEL, no oil leaks. I'm never selling it.
Sounds good to me
Porsche 993 S is the best looking car ever made. No ifs and buts. That's the one.
Amazing transformation of the paint & detailing of that 993, Damian. Truly incredible!
I like the original look but I also like the aftermarket wing. Don’t succumb to peer pressure, do what you thinks right.
Absolutely beautiful car without the wing with the wing looks nice
Thank you. Just a beautiful car in a beautiful colour, beautifully prepped. I'd go with the original rear panel, brought back to life rather than repainted. Enjoy!
Forty years ago, 16-yr-old me would say “keep the tech art wing” 😉 but now I’d vote for the original.
Outrageously gorgeous
Love the wing , gives it a wonderful stance
One of the finest , in the world ( Clarkson voice )
Great video Damian , you’re one lucky B 🏴
Cheers, Iain
Looks fantastic Damian. I did have to laugh when it started raining after all the effort that had gone in to making the car look mint. Torn on the spoiler, love the original look but then the spoiler also adds quite a unique look!
The more I see it the more special it looks. The colour really shows off the curves of the car.
I thought I might find this a bit dull. 17 minutes later…
I learnt stuff. See! It’s never too late.
The styling on these is so awesome, love the green too. Pretty jealous, enjoy.
What a great car.....best shaped 911 ever!! The shine on it looks unbelievable!
This is really very ,very good outstanding job done .Looks brilliant.
Absolutely beautiful!
Love it Damian! I would go with the original 993 silhouette ... no wing.
I bought a machine polisher and used Meguiars products and online tutorials to basically do this to my old ‘Datsun’ and the results were amazing… no doubt you got a professional job done at a professional price but it is possible to achieve a very close result at home for a fraction of that cost.
Sweet thing your 993 C4S. Had to smile as you went to leave in your nicely detailed Porsche and it rained...
Great to see the return of the stunning C4S and the fantastic paint work job. Normally I'd prefer originality but the present wing looks good.
Many thanks!
Looks even better in the flesh ! 🎉
Looks incredible. I’d get the original lid back on, but not repainted, just buffed to the same state as the rest of the car. Also, are you going to get the leather seats brought back to life? That would finish it off. Get that David Dickinson tan removed and give it some love too!

Interior is stunning

Congrats on a nice find and the color ? WOW love it!!!treat her right and she wont ever let you down😎

I ABSOLUTELY love this Porsche love love love it. Love the spec it’s absolutely spot on
Original spoiler without a doubt. This wing belongs to a Turbo, not to C4S.
Refit original tail with the same process as the rest of the car. Best color combination EVER. Well done. A keeper.
Love the green, fab finish, looks amazing 👍👍👍👍🙏🏆
Really like that colour combo, so much nicer than all the sliver or grey 993’s out there. And definitely repaint that OG deck lid and get if back on there 👍
Andy 🏴
I miss my 993 SO MUCH now - thanks! Looks fab, keep the Tech-Art ;)
Such a great colour! Sports cars look so much classier in understated colours. Looks nice with a contrasting interior too 👏🏻👍🏻💪🏻
Colour looks stunning!!
Love it, 'just as it rains'..
It looks stunning (I'm also a "green man"). Congratulations Damian!
Original buffed
Absolutely fantastic colour 👍
Enjoyed this, I keep thinking about getting my 15 year old yellow S2000 paint corrected but I use it for fast road driving and I don't want to feel too paranoid about stone chips. Once a car is perfect, it becomes stressful maintaining it!
Wow, well done FCD!! Looks amazing, fantastic job 👏 Stunning car no matter what lid you choose. Enjoy 😁
Excellent video...and a great walk-around by you professional.
Lovely colour. There just aren’t enough classic green sports cars
Wow, do I just love this car
Damian, I know its your car but leaning your arms on the roof before the car has left the detailing room.... 😟 👊 😄 What a fab colour.
Leaning does nothing.
The car is JUST mega. The perfect car in the perfect colour. Stunning 👌
Beautiful!
The green really is a great colour for it. For what it’s worth, I would put original lid back on. But if it was me, I would enjoy it as it is for a couple of months and worry about the lid during winter.
Awesome, top job... return the correct rear end and will you be able to maintain that incredible finish....the standard has been set !
Just amazing 🤩
FWIW, I like the wing. I'm not a big wing fan, but that one looks cool to me and makes the car look more special, IMO.
Looks phenomenal mate. The paint colour , wheels, model is really my one car garage. Cheers Matt
Fabulous. What a lovely looking motor. Cheers mate 🍺
Absolutely beautiful. Keep the videos coming. Enjoy the ride.
The 993 is the best looking 911 ever imo
What a CAR !!!!
Looks stunning Damian. I prefer the wing currently on the car.
Lovely job. I knew it would rain. Every time...
Looks fantastic. Re rear, Original buffed.
Car looks incredible!! I love that spoiler!
Damien doesn’t the original 4s spoiler have one full grill and the 2s have twin grilles? If so is your original original? Was it on the options list?
Someone has just switched in the 2S grill. Easy to do, loads of people do it.
Excellent looking 911. 👍
Superb job 👍
Really enjoy these videos. The previous air cooled started the man economics working and bought a 1982 911 sc, alongside the 991.2 gt3 and Macan gts. This c4s, is stunning love the colour, but I’d go with original rear end all day long

Wow it's sick, what a car.
Looks wonderful, IMHO money well spend Damian. 🤩
As a Porsche fan, that Looks badass and an excellent addition to the collection. Looking forward to seeing it on the track👍👍👍
Looks very nice. Good work
Thank you very much!
Just LOOOOOK at it …, she is a beauty Damian, awesome additional to the ever growing Porsche section of the car guys garage… IMHO back to standard tail gate , give it a ruddy good T cut and see how she comes up 👌🏻
Thanks 👍
Glad you kept the big spoiler :-)
Greetings from Germany! I love your channel! Simply great!! Oh, the Porsche.........kick the TechArt Wink away....... :)
Glad you enjoyed it!

Car looks amazing..great job

Just love this example and that colour
Looks epic. I'd definitely be leaving the big Wing on
A knockout job.. love the colour on the car. Original wing but just polished too retain originality. You should be well chuffed. Thanks for sharing the journey.
Looks awesome! And love the colour. Original flat back for me though.
Nice work. I’d keep the techart it’s period correct and looks good
Absolutely stunning car. I would opt for the standard original back end. Enjoy your 993.
I like the original engine cover, but that tech art wing looks pretty good!
Well I am drunk now Damian thank you very much…. on that lovely green paint work, I know I will get some hate, but I rather like that Techart wing it works very well and typically I am not. A Big wing man ! ! !
TechArt spoiler for me. Car looks stunning, Damian.
Incredible, money well spent to make a fantastic example of porsche's best car look like it's brand new. Bravo
Great job, amazing car 👍👍👍 I would leave this spoiler BTW ✌️
Great colour and its come up lovely!
Tidy!
Looks awesome, I love the colour! I want one!😀
Looks fantastic
Gorgeous car! Keep the TechArt spoiler. It’s all been finished in the same quality; and it looks great
Stunning car & colour
What a beautiful car.
Techart for me on this one but fully understand the original viewpoint.
Looks pristine
Great review Damien, And Jake did a great job. It's almost as lovely as my Guards Red 993Turbo. Ha
Green looks lovely too, pity it rained straight away.
As for the deck lid. Well the techART lid is good, as for the original.....well that is not the original lid either. Only the C2S came with the split louvred lid. Yours should have the grill the full way across. So it's been replaced at some point. Sorry to say.

Keep it as it is 👍 looks epic
Tech-Art wing. Reminds me of my friend in Philadelphia that drove a yellow 1997 911 Turbo S. At that time I had a 928GTS and my other friend had a blue BMW 850csi. Those were the days...
That looks lovely. So classy 👍
Screw the internet the car looks great I don't even like spoilers but that car looks right
Such a stunning car 💚💚
