    If I was Turkey I would stay put
    Isaiah 41
    8 “But you, Israel, my servant,
    Jacob, whom I have chosen,
    you descendants of Abraham my friend,
    9 I took you from the ends of the earth,
    from its farthest corners I called you.
    I said, ‘You are my servant’;
    I have chosen you and have not rejected you.
    10 So do not fear, for I am with you;
    do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
    I will strengthen you and help you;
    I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
    11 “All who rage against you
    will surely be ashamed and disgraced;
    those who oppose you
    will be as nothing and perish.
    12 Though you search for your enemies,
    you will not find them.
    Those who wage war against you
    will be as nothing at all.
    13 For I am the Lord your God
    who takes hold of your right hand
    and says to you, Do not fear;
    I will help you.

      Where is the highest point of the Euphrates? Is that somewhere in Turkey? Just thinking of the promise to Abram “ from the river of Egypt to the Euphrates. Kind of looking like it’s all aligned. Gog and Magog hey. Taking 7 years to bury all the dead when fire comes down to those assembled against Israel.

    I recommend listening to Chief Rabbi Goldstein's response to PM Netanyahu's speech, and his recounting of Menachim Begin's response to the nuclear threat of Hussein, the daring and briiliant take out in 1981 of Sadaam's nuclear project while all the world pontificated and condemned Israel. I am not Israeli, but honestly, it is obvious that the world, including my country, and the media, the UN are in fact not in the least concerned that Israel is the nation in mortal danger, and they have shown not only predictable i difference but downright hostility to its existence.

    If the US had any foresight, they would have declared a free Kurdistan, on Kurdish land. (Much like they gave away part of Serbia to the Albanian invaders and occupiers.) The Kurds are far more reliable than than Turkey, and an airbase in Kurdistan would be much less problematic, than one in Turkey.

    Turkey has the second largest army, in terms of manpower, in NATO. The largest is the US, and there's a large isolationist segment of Trump's base that doesn't want to be in NATO.
    As a matter of real politik, if you're Germany or France would you want Turkey removed? Turkey is perfectly aligned with European interests. They don't have to spend money on their armies, just rely on the US, and Turkey. The problem is that this strategy is backfiring now.

    • @guidobolke5618
      @guidobolke5618 2 місяці тому +1

      Realpolitik is one word. :-)
      Germany wants to keep the US in, by any means necessary :-) France would like to be more independant. Turkey is not aligned with european interests, it is quite capable of blackmailing Europe. So relying on them to defend europe would be too stupid even for german politics.

    • @RTi-ry4sd
      @RTi-ry4sd 2 місяці тому

      @@guidobolke5618
      I know it's one word. My phone does odd things sometimes (case in point I write some times, and it splits it up).
      In any event, why does Germany rely on the US, the short answer is that it doesn't have a military to speak of (for obvious reasons, Germany building up its army tends to send shivers through Europe, and Germany has avoided this since 1945). The
      The problem is that the US is heavily in debt, and will have to face China soon (its largest foreign debt holder). To defend Europe (or anywhere else for that matter), it has to project its power. This isn't an easy, or cheap thing to do anymore as shown by its foray into Iraq, and Afghanistan.

    • @guidobolke5618
      @guidobolke5618 2 місяці тому

      @@RTi-ry4sd I can assure you that this really came home here in Germany. People want to change that. The need for it is clear. The minister of defence is probably the most popular politician right now, and he is very clear.
      Germany has not avoided building an army since 45. West germany actually had the largest standing army in europe during the cold war (not counting the Soviet Union). Every man had to serve in the army. Conscription is part of the constitution and has only been temporarily suspended since 2011. Talk about reintroducing it pops up now and again, because old peoople like the idea that young people serevr the country. But overall it would be a bit of an overkill.
      There is a sizable part of the population though that holds sceptical views of the US with it's huge spending on the military and a wish for military intervention all over the world. From their viewpoint, the US is not heavily indebted because they pay for defending their partners, but because they try to impose their will militarily on other countries without having a political concept how to actually achieve victory politically and thereby losing miserably again and again and sometimes like in Iraq making it much worse.
