I’m still obsessed with The Libertines and The Babyshambles, helped me get threw a rough patch in my life. 5 years sober now!!! My obsession started in 2007- still strong!!
Congratulations on 5 years. All the best, and good luck for the future. 👊
I like your playlist
you just need to learn to spell now and you've cracked it!
Congratulations 🎊!! You can be very proud of that
Well done mate. The irony though!
This song gets better with every listen. One of the best live bands I have ever seen.
Im seeing them for the first time in Ireland on Thursday. ..
Agreed. I was fortunate enough to see The Libs at CBGBs before all hell broke loose with Pete's addiction. The band had such raw talent, and Carl and Pete harmonizing was just brilliant. I'll probably will have to fly out to the UK, or drive up to Toronto when they finally go on tour; I don't think they will tour the U.S.
£÷£÷£÷
@@tmf1977 shit you saw them at cbgbs, that in itself is awesome
@@tmf1977 how come you don’t think they will tour the US? I’m a US fan of them too and I need to figure out a way to go and see them at some point!
My favourite band ever has finally got back together, thank you Pete for staying strong. It has been a rough time for you but I'm glad you are all back together and releasing a new album.
How Can everyone be argueing in these comments. This song is awesome and so brilliant. This is what we have been waiting for. I don't think age or generation matter when it comes to the libertines. Its about feeling part of something amazing. Much love to the lads and all of us fans i feel like without eachother neither of us are complete
I'm addicted to this song. They're so painfully loveable. And the video is quite good
Painfully loveable 😻😻👍🏻 itz rite
me too:)
It's kinda sweet when they sing "You're a better man than I" around 1:24 Pete crooks a thumb at Carlos.
Hahaha when Carl sings "I'm a bastard in the morning", Pete mouths "that's true"
Classic right 👍🏻 haha
I was just about to comment that! 😂
There's a line that you cross with hard drugs that you never come back from... and you are left with that permanent look of aftershock in your eyes. That's Pete... but my God, he can still write, produce and perform these songs of depth, wit and emotion - he's a better man than I.
Well said!
I had missed this band SO bad! Could hardly believe when I found this treasure! My love for these guys has just grown. I've listened to the whole CD... which is something I never do.
Cilene Vieira it's definitely one of those albums that gets better the more you hear it
For those suggesting this is more 'pop' and that they sound too different need to appreciate bands progression, they haven't reunited to release the same music, the evolution of this band is incredible, this track is amazing and I cannot wait for the new album, long live the libs!
Great song, great band! The location is "Walking Street" in Pattaya I think!!!!!! Thailand is the best country of the world!!!! Greetings from Italy!!!!!! :-)
I'm never getting tired of this song
never getting sick and tired of this song
@@darenlee8987 Ahhh,missed opportunity to use this 😭
@@twiceverglow ehehehe
Not gunna lie it's a lot better than what I was expecting from the new album
1:57 "And it feels like nothing's changed" and in that moment they hug each other aw what a nice coincidence
coincidence yeah :D
Phuket, Thailand!! This is amazing!!! Welcome back The Libertines!!!!!!
So glad to see the Likely Lads back again! When I found out that they were back with more music and a video... I'm not ashamed to say that I teared up a bit.
It's been too long. Welcome back lads!
Pete with the Libertines or with the Babyshambles is always great! He 's a fucking genius! Thanks from France
The feeling when you realize they still have their own unique tune and the song is better than you ever could imagine!!!
Realise *
@@jfluffydog2110 there is literally a link under your comment that says Translate to English when you click it changed it to Realize. Realize is correct. Further proof- do you spell it realised, or realized? Exactly realised isn’t a word

it took you too long to get back together, but late is better than never!
Thank you guys!
One of the only bands to have gone with the times yet still managed to have achieved an amazing piece of music, long live the Libertines!
Been listen to the libertines since I was born in 2008 because my dad I don’t speak to him anymore but thanks for bringing back the memories
Pete and Carl look so happy together in this video and a little bit chubby too it's a good notice they are together even all they been through... God Bless The Libertines! such an amazing band
Pete looking slim compared to now!
I met him through my hubby and his mate franny
Top bloke went on the tour bus he was the best
Live on libertines and Pete you absolute legend xx
chords for those who want to cover it: Bm, F#m, E for the verses, F#m, A, D, F#m in the chorus. absolutely brill track
Hiya mate them chords are spot on but do u have chords for bit near end where it goes " what's the point in you now, I can't chase you , oh leave me alone I've got the Monday blues bit'" please and thank u
Hitched from Carlinville, IL for their final show in Springfield! No regrets! Awesome show!
I saw the libertines live recently and they were bloody incredible
Like they r up there with one of the best live bands I’ve seen
I promised myself that I wouldn't listen to this until after I listened to the rest of The Libertines' discography. I am not disappointed.
Don't understand why people insist on forcing their "not as good as they were" or "what a let down" kind of opinions on everyone else, as a long term libs fan I actually really like this song and I'm glad they've changed their sound a bit, no point in releasing an album like the previous two.
I went to the gig in the 3 Arena in Dublin on Thursday gone (9th July). It's fair to say The Libertines were on top top form, best I've seen them. The new tunes are cracking, I have this one on repeat all day. Cannot wait until the new album, people should get behind it though and start requesting it / sharing it etc so more people actually get to enjoy it too! Keep it up lads!
This band is so underrated
not in Romania, they are played regularly on the radio; come over after Brexit, we adopt Brits...
I think there's still potential for Libertines to grow a lot more internationally because they keep working on it and they keep doing it with energy. The British are a proud people (or perhaps I should say peoples) and Brexit was just the tip of an iceberg. Pride makes the culture interesting abroad, especially if there are elements which some might find provoking. The concept doesn't need much changing in order to be continuously revitalised. On an international level it could almost help Libertines though if other British bands in their genre were to hit it large. That could really spawn subcultural interest in Europe on a market-making level.
Jorge Guzman wtf in uk not
I have a feeling that they are underrated the most particularly in UK.
I don't believe that any Glasto headliner could be be called underrated
it's growing on me. once you get past the realization that its just not quite the same as it was, this is a genuinely good tune with flashes of that old Libertines magic. not much to complain about really
Woke up again
To my chagrin
Getting sick and tired of feeling sick and tired again
I tried to write
'Cause, I got the right
To make it look, as if I'm doing something, with my life
Got to, find a vein
It's always, the same
And a drink, to ease the panic and the suffering
I woke, up again
Dreamt of, Gunga Din
Oh, the road is long
If you, stay strong
You're a better man, than I
You've been, beaten and flayed
Probably betrayed
You're a better man, than I
Woke up again
To my, evil twin
That mirror, is fucking ugly and I'm sick and tired of looking at him
Been up, all night
I probably, picked a fight
'Cause I can't help it, I'm a bastard in the morning
So I try, to write
I think, I have the right
A little drinky now and then to help me, just to see the light
Just another day
And it feels like, nothing's changed
Oh, fuck it
Oh, here I go again
Oh, the road is long
If you, stay strong
You're a better man, than I
You've been, beaten and flayed
Probably betrayed
You're a better man, than I
What's the point, in you now?
I can't chase, you know how
Oh, leave me alone
I've got, those Monday blues, straight from Sunday blues
Oh, the road is long
If you, stay strong
You're a better man, than I
You've been, beaten and flayed
Probable betrayed
You're a better man, than I
La la-la la, la la-la la, la la-la la la

So in love. Happy to see them together. I hope the lights won't go out again.
Proud of The Libertines ! welcome back :)
I've missed you guys, so much! Over those 10 years!
I hope i can see you guys here in Brazil, at least once!
Been on repeat for the last few days
Look how I give the video a *like* even before it start playing. We had been waiting for you guys to come back forever!
People get off on being negative. This is a catchy comeback single with a monster chorus.. And I can´t wait for the studio version of You´re my waterloo! That song is beauty

100% talent

I love how this video is like a sequel to the "Up The Bracket" video
Pete...brutally honest as usual. I hope he finds some peace and sobriety and lives a long and fruitful life. If he is such a big fan of Baudelaire, he needs anew career. Still one of the greatest English songwriters and singers of the past two decades. Good luck Peter.
Great Song! Welcome back!! You've been missed
Two albums were enough to keep alive this feeling eleven years, now I think I have to live another hundred years. I can not stop singing la la la la la la la la la.........

Wrong song
1:46 mark is always gold.. I like Pete's response to Carl.. "that's true.." 😄
Never been much of a fan before, but this song is amazing! well done guys! so glad to see Pete looking healthy
The Libetines are back with my album of the year and an amazing first single
that chorus is brilliant, they're definetly back!
as new songs come, the libertines have hit the center of the nail on this one, class song
Great song, and the Pete/Carl collaboration is amazing! Can't wait for the album.
Holy sh*t they're back together?!
I don't know if I'm happier that they're making music again or that the relationship between Doherty and Barat was salvaged!
These guys sort of belong together, in my opinion.
2:59 The bass player show emotion for the first time in his life!
moe5513 also 3:02
KKKKKKK Notei o mesmo.
I went to Thailand. Best place I've ever been! Can't wait to go back.
I listened to the intro and was like eh, it sounds like their weird random songs that Pete sings. But then I heard the lyrics and fell in love with them. It has a nice build up.
Tuve la oportunidad de verlos en Berlín, y JAMÁS olvidare ese escalofrío que sentí, cuando Carl y Pete compartieron ese micrófono de esa manera tan sensual, como solo ellos pueden ❤️
Berlin 2014? I was there too!
@@SlavicRusa yessssss!!!!! :D
Los volviste a ver alguna vez?
The Albion sails on course! Cannot wait for the rest of the album!
I've just grown to love this song. It was only decent for me at first but now I can't get enough of it.
1:48
Carl "...A bastard in the morning"
Pete "That's true"
hahaha!
This song is f$)%ing genius. One of the qualities of the Libertines is how they sneak Jamaican rhythms into their music but immediately destabilize it with punk. No one would call them Jamaican but is there like a secret spice.
22heloise22 exactly
Never known a song to get better with every single listen. Must be on 50 and it is fucking brilliant.... Roll on the hundredth listen.
I love how they sound more mature now but still able to keep that appealing childishness that makes the libertines, the libertines :')
It felt so awesome to rediscover this song today!
Dude fr I honestly hate that this album makes me nostalgic now reminds me of high school still brilliant tho but damn time flies
The libertines are back again!!! what a good song and a great brithday present too! Amazed by these guys.. Up the libertines!!!
After a few listens I am a bit upset that Gary and John's contributions on bass and drums are somewhat obscured by Pete and Carl. They are bro brilliant musicians and the back bone of the Libs. Gary's drumming is second to none and John is an ace bass player.
buckbumble that's why Gary and John are Libertines too because are some kind of genious too, John Hasall has one amazing disc with Yeti band, i think their contribution to The Libs are so important like Carl and Pete, but by the way I was thinking that all is about Pete too.
Matthew Guille Why wasting your time looking at the video then...
Matthew just out of interest, what do you consider their one good hit? I am struggling to thing of a particular song that has been bigger than all the others
Don't look back into the sun, the good old days, time for heroes, what became of the likely lads... All great tunes that are on the more popular side, then there are plenty of brilliant songs that don't have as much recognition too.
Matthew Guille Yes they are not ground breaking, but they are really fun to listen to, and the live shows are insane, mainly if you catch them in the UK..
Teared up at this, I'm probably gonna cry all the way through the Leeds fest set I'm just so happy
Thank you libertines, for everything. And Peter, I hope we see each other in that other life you said. Bye -Daniela from Chile.
I hate when people criticize a band by saying they "don't sound the same as before"...especially when "before" was literally 10 years ago. If they always made the same sounding music, they'd be criticized as sell-outs for only playing what they already know will get them money.
On top of that, because of the nature of this reunion I think that the differences in the sound are a good thing. They make me feel more like this is a genuine new beginning, not a re-hash just to rake in more cash.
only downfall with this track is the lack of views and the 900 dislikes come on we all know this is a brilliant track from the libertines
The best of the song is that they keep the same youthful that they put into the the albums many years ago, even though they are not the same kids anymore. It's the best could happen to them.
Son increíbles!!
Gracias por venir a México!!!
Me la pasé increíble!!!😄
Love you guys...Your music doesn't happen twice in this world.True music, one in a lifetime band...
The smile on Peter's face at 2:27 is everything.
It took me a night to understand how perfect it is 💘
Can't believe that was 1 years ago
time goes too fucking fast
True Fukin' story
Rock Videos year*
PURPLE Evil Me Gaming shut up
OVERDOSE XX what I corrected him damn
....and yet this song still sound terrible !
music is medium, but i am truly happy that they got together. I can proudly say that if it wasnt for Libertines i would probably not love music the way i do today. Great news regardless the quality of the tune (which is not bad!).
A rare thing, a band that get's better with age.
i genuinely love it! nice to see those custards together again, watched this vid quite a few times and am excited for them to be back. also, i'm too old to go nuts for a band, but....
Oh, the road is long
If you stay strong
You're a better man than I
You are beat and afraid
Probably been betrayed
You're a better man than I
This song gives off a 2000's vibes, the ones on the radio when I was younger
Definitely early 2000s vibes.
LIBERTINES ARE BACK, HOLY CHRIST!! LOVING IT
"Though I've belted you and flayed you,
By the livin' Gawd that made you,
You're a better man than I am, Gunga Din"
-R. Kipling
10 years waiting for this
I'm crying of happiness
At first listen I liked this but didn't think it was much compared to their old work. After a few listens though it has just clicked and I'm in love.
The best comeback song ever
And “ Heart of the matter” 👍🏽
I've been a fan for a few years now & I think it sounds very good. Grown up.
first listen, absolutely love it. it was sure worth the wait
01:54 - where Pete is like "don't do that" just gets me everytime. 😊
The libertines me hizo querer una peda en tailandia !!
el lugar se ve vivo y apetecible!!
Hm, I somehow overlooked this song back in the day. It really is a gorgeous tune.
Twenty people don't understand change and that this is a great tune LONG LIVE THE LIBS !!!!!!
Top 3 fave songs for me hey any 2021 people here??? Absolutely the best libertines song
Great song! I love the Libs. It sounds a little more like the Babyshambles, but it is good to have the both of carl and pete back together. there is also a very good cover of this song by The Albionauts out there
Glad to have the likely lads back on form. This is fantastic :-)
1:48 Pete mouths "it's true"

Didn't Carl mouth it not Pete

This makes me feel sick, with love. The boys in the band are back. Amazing to see them together♥️
Whatever became of the likely lads? Well, they went on a massive bender! Can we get an invite next time lads? ;-)
***** hahah unreal
Chris Benoit Of course you would find that funny 😂😂
Vevo UK was this comment written by an American trying to use British lingo? because "bender" isn't the best word to use in this context haha
Ahh lads gie us an invite afore ye go on another bender will ye eh ahaha mad banter 👌
Shihab, bender works fine in this context, there is more than meaning. In this case, a bender being when you go on a night out, get really pissed, which is what they're doing in the video.
I only just discovered the Rudyard Kipling poem behind this song, makes it so much better
This is soooo The Clash. I love it.
You know what I love about this song is that it sounds like Peter brought a lot of his current guitar work from babyshambles at 2:18 mark, you can hear his signature surf reverb shit there. I just love hearing that guitar riff, it's pretty fuckin great just to hear Carl and Pete again on a track, right on lads, this song is one of the best of 2015. I'm sorry if other viewers don't agree.
