- Let's Take A Stroll Down Memory Lane. In 2002, one of the most amazing superhero finally got an amazing live action adaption. 22 years later, I finally get to rewatch the film for the first time in theaters with a lot of fans. Please enjoy my reaction to Spider-Man.

I saw it in theaters last week and when that part happened I turned to the dude next to me and I said "I'm Batman" he looked like he was holding back a hard laugh

I wasn't born when this was released in theatres. It's released in theatres now, once in a lifetime opportunity. It's not in any theatres near me 😭😭😭. I'm sad.

Went and saw this with some buddies on Monday and man... it was an experience like no other. You gotta love a superhero movie that's naturally funny while still having an engaging story that takes its character and their struggles seriously. Honestly if Spider-Man was made now, with modern effects, a longer running time (by that I mean +30 min or less) to include more character development from the comics and novelizations, had MJ helping out more during the fight scenes, mechanical web shooters, and more chances to showcase Peter's science wiz, bitter view of the world that that gets eaten away by his sense of responsibility, as well as his confident and humorous side post bite, I feel it would be on par with Spider-Verse. Spider-Man 1 may be dated, but it is still, and will always be awesome.
Modern effects already do the job all the other things aren't necesssary , and it's best for this version to not have web shooters it makes the drama of the second movie even better . And i kinda don't agree to the implication that it's below spiderverse like it is either , ig i'm just that kinda person who really prioritises the impact of story , characters and emotions more than cool visuals by default , i still find this a very strong movie for that and am unable to relate to spiderverse being considered better .
@@humanman9920 That's a very interesting perspective on the matter. I'm a massive fan of the Raimi movies myself (they are my favorite superhero movies ever made). However I do have issues with them (particularly with the first and third movie) that keep them from being as great as they could be. The CGI hasn't aged well, particularly for the Green Goblin stuff and this was made 3 years after The Matrix came out. So improving that would be nice. For the web shooters, I'm honestly indifferent to it, so it's more of a suggestion than anything. Raimi’s Mary Jane Watson is a really interesting and well written character who gets so much shit from "fans" because she ended up being in danger a lot of the time and "seemed" like a cheater to people. Having her participate in the fights more like shining the barges spotlight at the Green Goblin during the final battle and including a lot more of her own scenes from the novelization could endure audiences to her more and make her an even more fleshed out character. Tobey Maguire is still my favorite live action portrayal of the character, but I did wish we got to see more of his science side (maybe have him use his knowledge to take out villains in intricate ways), his bitter view of the world (showcase more of his flawed, angry, and jerky side before Uncle Ben dies and show it slowly fade away as the movie goes on), and his confident side post bite (have him be less standoffish at the Bugle when talking to Jameson and have him spit more wisecracks as Spidey). In general, a longer running time could allow for a lot more scenes for character growth and dynamics, particularly between Peter, MJ, Harry, Ben, May, and Norman, and even include more stuff from the novelization by Peter David. If all these additions were made to the film, Spider-Man 1 would be a 10/10 in my eyes. But that's just me. I still love it as a solid 9/10. Still the best superhero origin movie.

When I saw it it was hard not to recite the entire thing. I was doing it absentmindedly, but I love that everyone in this theater is doing it! I wish I was there instead! My theater was full, but everybody else was so boring! 🤣 There was a group in front of me who clapped and cheered with me at the end, but that's it. I'm also the only person who sat through the credits and even sang Hero. I don't know, for some reason I thought everybody would stay and a lot of people would be singing it but I think I expected too much. The janitors came in thinking the theater was empty. I wanted to hear the original 1967 Spider-Man theme song in the theater, but I went ahead and left so they could finish cleaning. This was my first time seeing it in the theater because I was only two when this movie came out, and it was amazing! I'm super excited for Spider-Man two!
As long as you had a great time, that's all that matters. It was also my first time watching this movie in the theater, and it was amazing. Stay tune, I'm going to see Spider-Man 2 and 3 with a full theater. Hopefully, I could get more reactions just like the ones in this video.

Yep i keep thinking the same thing even though i enjoy the memes a lot myself , but it was going to come to this to some extent , ig this is acceptable level of bad and not bad bad , that's when people are almost completely out of the drama and primarily considering memes the entertainment . So this much is fine it just shouldn't progress further in this same direction .

@@The_Blue_Otaku oh ok. I guess maybe they played it mostly in the U.S. and a few in Canada. I didn't really know, and I searched it up to see if it was playing anywhere else other than the United States.
Why in my opinion in the final swing when the camera pans half of the city around before going towards Spider-Man on the flag pole why did it look like I saw the Twin Towers before the screen goes dark am I the only one to catch that 13:59

I still wish we got a Spider-Man 4 or maybe even a Spider-Man 5 I'm pretty sure those were Sam raimi's original plans for the series we were supposed to get more than three films but for some reason the series ended after three of them we're released

I wished to see this movie, but I missed it I would of loved to of seen it on IMAX that would of been really awesome to see on that screen, I'm a massive Spider-man fan and I own all the movies and my nickname is Spidey because of my fandom of Spider-man my bedroom is painted in Spider-man colors and if filled with Spider-man posters, canvas's anyway I really wished that they would play these movies all week instead of only one day so that give everyone including myself to see it on the big screen again it's been a long time since I saw this movie on the big screen the only 2 movies I didn't love were Spider-man 3 nor the Amazing Spider-man 2 those 2 movies didn't work at all and for that I'm going to skip those 2 movies even I'm a Spidey fan.
