MY PROFILE:
I started fishing when I was just a young kid and instantly fell in love with Bass Fishing. Started fishing tournaments when I was in high school and have been fishing them ever since. For years I fished every tournament I could enter sometimes fishing as many as 45 tournaments a year. I qualified for the Elites when I was 30 but didn't have the sponsors or money to compete so I turned it down. Got sponsor support later and fished the FLW Tour for 2 years and having been fishing the Toyotas since 2006. I’ve won 5 Angler of the Year Titles becoming the only fishermen to have more than 3 AOYs in the Toyota series. Won numerous events along the way that has helped shape my way into working for Strike King as head of product innovation. Along the way, I picked up a camera and started filming my endeavors. Todd, I’m fairly new to competitive fishing. I hear the term “cover water” so often. It may be a little elementary but I’d really like an in depth on what that really means, how you do it, and when to speed up or slow down. Thanks man, big fan.
His series Deep Waters and Alabama Waters sort of cover this topic. Hopefully he does a video specifically about that some day.
Meaning taking a possible pattern and fishing as much water as you possibly can to try and duplicate that pattern or if your hard headed like me then you may try to make them eat what you want them to so you put that in your hand and cover as much water that you can !Won a good bit of local stuff being hard headed but it’s a hero or zero kind of deal !

So around here in Southwest Missouri, we have big local tournaments, but they don't pay out, but maybe $4,000 at most. Tablerock, you have to fish a lot of tournaments and place top 3 every weekend to make money. There's not really anything bigger like you have in south Texas or Texas in general. I try and do it, but if you're not top, 6 you either have to wait til you save up and then gamble a little bit. What do you think we can do differently over here?? Skeeter money isn't that great either in Missouri, it seems too.

Any special tips for fishing a team tournament solo? Things you may typically not think of?
How long will bass stay in totally flooded bushes? I'm talking green bushes under water. Jason Christie says once the bushes sour, whatever that means they leave them. In your experience with it, do they leave? With all the flooded lakes across the country from the non-stop storms, this was a prudent question

My problem is i cant afford to buy a new boat and electronics every year to get those bonuses. I enjoy tournaments but its an expensive game.
