For 15 years, Tad (real name) started his dancing from high school, and currently works at On One Studios, as a dance mentor and digital marketer. Later in 2015, he was later recruited into a professional dance company called, The Company (@companyfam), where he continued to gain more knowledge about dance in the intricacies and qualities of movement. Tad has also partaken in choreography submission projects to work for K-Pop artists such as iKON, WINNER, SF9, and Stray Kidz under the direction of Pat Cruz, Larkin Poynton, and Alo Galedo.
Through the introduction of Wonder Girls, Big Bang, and SNSD, he started his K-Pop journey by learning the Hallyu history, understanding the idol creation process, and studying its globally trending presence for the past decade. With the wisdom he's accumulated, Tad aspires to continue learning, to share his worlds from Dance & K-Pop, and to help & lead others to be at their best.

He’s awesome considering he just learned it for his role in a movie....a double dancer was supposed to be used for the scenes but he learned everything quickly and with grace that he did all dance scenes himself...
The double dancer was just amazed with him although he’s a bit sad coz he wasn’t able to dance in the movie coz DO just did it all lols..

This is why Ten always get dance solos in whatever group he's in. His confidence in himself and his dancing shows in everything he does.
And all of that performances are from when he just debuted, still new but shine so bright. Thank you so much for the reaction. It's always nice to see people appreciate Ten's talents. He deserves more.
Ten's facial expressions, hand movements and his gaze... Main factors that leave me dead. That moment when they performed WayV's Nectar for the first time on the Beyond Live concert... He instantly blew up on social media. I wish they released a Nectar dance practice cause boi, are we thirsty for that.

Enjoyed the commentary! I'd have to agree with you, Ten is definitely one of the greatest dancers in this era. There's still so much to see from TEN and it's really amazing to see his growth as an artist.
I've been watching dance since the 1970s. I was a professional dancer myself and now since retired and in my humble old opinion, he's the most exciting dancer this decade. His versatility, story-telling, musicality, technical and interpretive skills is pure artistry. When you also acknowledge that he's a damn good singer too and can play an instrument and has many other skills in terms of linguistics and sports . . . I find the package that is Ten both fascinating, addictive and breathtaking.
Ten also had another solo thing on the latest MBC award show called echo with a short collab with Shownu after. It was awesome, pretty short but mind blowing. He also had some spotlight moments in NCT's performance at the 2020 AAA's. Thanks for checking out these videos! Ten's dances are always so unique and artistic, I also wonder if there is any genre he can't do lol
His first partner the wacker called Ten her fav student. He learns fast
I was so disappointed that he was in last place with this performance (the first one).. Some participants were just doing a lot of "dirty" things like laying on the floor with partner's butt right in front of the face.. that was not even dance..
and Ten's reaction during their dance was hilarious hahahaha
some of the performances were so predictable, to be honest. but between the “dirty” ones, i really like hoya's performance, it was sensual and so expressive, i could FEEL the tension.

For other dancers, you don't need to watch all of Hit the Stage, but you like Taemin so you should definitely watch his stage if you haven't! Yugyeom from GOT7 also had 2 stages. You're already getting into NCT and they have a lot of group dancing and practices (Black on Black and Resonance are a must). I recommend the 6-pack stage which is a collab between great dancers, Ten was there and Dino, Shownu, Rocky...and all kpop dance collabs

Hit the Stage is a program that recognizes dance crews ft. kpop idols. so with Ten he is practically been adopted by Prepix (his foster dance dad ILL).
For the Uniform theme, his concept is a Mad Conductor (which was obvious) & Ten Won that episode. At that time he cried cuz he felt apologetic to the crew, like from previous episodes he almost won. but Time make everything perfect. He owned that concept
For The Fight theme, his concept was an Assasin, like sci-fi with time concept.
until now, he is still in close relationship with prepix crew cuz some NCT dances where choreographed by them.

You mentioned an idol doing tap dance...well there is EXO's D.O. who learned tap dance for his movie role in Swing Kids.
Oh, I have not seen that actually. I will take a look at that.

I actually have this huge NCT watch list (thanks to someone in the comments) and I'm starting from it's beginnings currently. So I will eventually get to WayV at some point haha

I know you’re on an Nct journey, but if you want to watch some of their individual dance covers, you should check out Taeyong’s and Mark’s too !!
You may think we will find it funny :) but he has many mature fans that take really serious what you say bc he DOES use his hips a lot and that's something special about his dancing IMO

So everything you need to say about what you see respecting him is welcomed

there is not little bit of storytelling there actually IS the story.
Ten has gymnastic backgroud so he is very flexible and can split.

It's sad NCT hasn't really promoted or posted Ten's dance vids recently, but he has an instagram that he's posted some more recent choreos/dance practices on! Shorter, obviously just shot in the dance practice room in a mirror, but would love to see you react to his more recent stuff! tenlee_1001 is his ig handle
Also, he recently performed on an MBC special stage with Shownu! Would love to see you react to that. Finally, WayV's dance practice vids are all incredible; Ten is obviously their dance center but they're all pretty good dancers and very synchronized. Turn Back Time and Moonwalk are my favorites :)

Oh my god! I'm not even joking I came across this channel just this morning with this particular video as a youtube recommendation and proceeded to binge the playlist for Ten and I watched other NCT reactions too and that's all I did all day and just now WayV youtube channel dropped Ten's stage on SDC4 with New Heroes and the highly anticipated Paint Me Naked stage! I guess the universe prepared me for that by watching all his past performances with your amazing reaction!

Oohh my god.. I think you're the only kpop dance reactor that know Waackxxxy (and J Black). That got me 😳🥺 and realized that you are actual dancer and dance mentor. Waackxxxy was part of prepix (I don't know whether she's still with them or not) and Ten did all Hit The Stage performances with Prepix because Prepix is (often) in charge of NCT's boys. They are one of NCT's dance trainer 'till now (including WayV). Even NCT Dream's Dive into You directed by Lee Ill Hyung. He's like second in command in prepix if I'm not mistaken.

i'm gonna leave a long comment bc i freakin love how ten performs:
love stage - i appreciate how he portrayed the playful, simple side of love/attraction, especially bc it isn't a very popular approach when it comes to competition shows or just in general. it's nice to see a performer reminding us that love is powerful bc it can bring joy to us and the people around us!
uniform stage - my soul almost ascended when ten started tapping.. the sound alone just immediately makes me happy (although it does remind me of how dang tired i was after every tap practice as a kid lol)
fight stage - i can't seem to ever watch it straight through without rewinding.. either bc i'm fascinated by a movement or trick or just bc i'm laughing at the dancer playing a spy. i liked how you pointed out the contrast between grounded and fluid, too!
final - just the fact that ten made this stage about the crew and how they played such a vital role in his performances made my respect for him skyrocket. maybe it's just me but it felt like ten focused more on making the dancers the focus compared to the other idol contestants. like he wasn't going for a "killer" stage but trying to show off the people who helped him along the way.
Ten's role/concept in the "uniform" dance was the 'mad maestro' or 'crazy conductor', and i love how he used his facial expressions to aid the dance and the personality of his character

Ten joined Hit the Stage just 3 months after his debut with NCT at 20 years old. He is such a charismatic performer. He possesses confidence, musicality, charm, control, strength, flexibility, fluidity, grace... he dances right down to his fingertips. But above all, passion. His passion for dance shines through-and that, for me, is what makes him so captivating. I have a short list of favourite dancers: Mikhail Baryshnikov, Louise Lecavalier, Svetlana Zakharova, Roberto Bollo, Misty Copeland, and Ten. He's in good company. :)

Another SM idol who learnt tap is D.O who is a main vocalist for the group E.X.O. He is also the number 1 idol actor in the industry and respected by many veterans in the acting industry.
Ten and D.O are my biases from NCT & E.X.O.
Hit the stage was such a good show. You should check out another dancer from the show his name is feeldog he was part of the groups Bigstar and UNB. Many of the mentors on the show thought it was a pity for the dance community when he decided to become an idol because he was such a great dancer. Truly a highlight to watch his performances.
Also Hoya from Infinite’s stages were also really good.
Yes this is a treat thank you for this now you will get to be see the true essence of Ten I love him he's so versatile for having background n just gymnastics n then hone it in twords all diff styles of dance is amazing fludity and musicality...not saying obviously with gymastics it makes easier for some things and could tie together but not all aspects n to be light n airy when need m not heavy you know what I mean

This was a treat! 👌🏻I would highly recommend Rocky's piece for Hit the Stage too, it was very enjoyable, I always go back to it.
Also, kinda random...but since you mentioned tap dance I couldn't help but to think of Kyungsoo (D.O) from EXO who can dance tap :D. However, his circumstances are... different since he's learnt it for one of the movies he's acted in. It would be interesting to hear your thoughts on it, even if you watch that on your own. 👀 Although he's not one of EXO's main dancers or someone in this group who stands out for his dancing ( vocal line perks 😂 or disadvantages, whichever way you'd like to see it as), he definitely did great in the movie and sold the whole tap dancer role.
I love D.O. for his singing and acting. Never usually on his dancing, but the tap scene is something I'd like to check out!

Ten learned tap together with some dreamies members like Jisung and Jeno. I think Ten also had a performance in Hit the Stage titled Devil
I notice you mentioned “very gimmicky” at some points coz the dances (if you don’t already know yet) were based on a particular theme for an episode....
So, when you said what’s the point of that rewind thingy they did, it’s about the Fight (theme)...he was supposed to be an assassin-ish there, fought off a traitor (i guess)
And that conductor thingy, he won in that episode (if I’m not mistaken)...he’s supposed to be a mad/crazy conductor hence the weird expressions and crazy body movements as if he’s fighting with his crazy self...
you already saw his Devil perform.....he’s supposed to be a monk possessed with the devil and there’s a struggle within then at somd point the devil manifested itself.
As for the floor, i think it’s kinda hard coz at one time Shownu made it crack/break when he jumped for his dance.
Oh yeah, there were a lot of other contestants in Hit The Stage -- Taemin, Shownu among others..
He was 20 at that time..
Prepix is his dance crew since the beginning, he started dancing...i think basically they “raised” Ten as their baby dance wise.
ten had (some) training in tapping! he's awesome and so divers, the dancer he waacked with complimented him alot, said he's the best student and that he's a fast learner! there's a behind the scenes footage you can watch them on UA-cam :)
also you could watch bora's stages on the stage she actually performed an entire tapping stage! she's amazing 🙁 her stages we're awesome too bad she got injured and that stood in her way

EXO's D.O is another idol who does tap dancing. He learned and used it for a movie rather than dancing.
