Finally a Chevelle reaction! Hard to find them. Very underrated band. What these three guys are able to produce is astounding. They have some similar sounds to a few other bands, but at the same time have a unique sound all their own. Love me some Chevelle! Another song to check out is Send the Pain Below.
5:05 It also bears mentioning that the line directly before the sharp inhale is "You ever try to hold your breath?", making the whole thing that much more effective. This is just one example of the layers and very well thought-out song production and composition that typifies Chevelle.
The comparison to Tool has been made from time to time over their 9 studio albums. That said, they are their own thing, their own signature sound. Here's a few I'd recommend for you delve further in to them. Clincher, Get some, Closure, Vitamin R, Sleep Apnea, Door to Door Cannibals, Revenge, and a few off their latest album that just dropped March of this year...So long, Mother earth, Self Destructor, Remember When and Ghost and razor.
Fantastic reaction and review. I was fortunate enough to see them live in Virginia Beach a couple of weeks ago. The amount of sound that comes out of these three musicians is staggering. Try a live video, if you're ready to step up to another level of appreciation. You''ll be amazed at how Pete sings his unique vocal lines while playing some amazing guitar. Thanks for giving these guys a try!
One of my favorite bands! Very underrated but so powerful and they have so many great songs and their concerts are awesome and pack power. It blows me away to see three people on stage do what they do. Thanks for doing Chevelle🙏🏼
So pleased to hear your take. Pete is an incredibly talented singer. He screams, howls, growls, does falsetto, everything. I would love to hear what you think of “Envy”, “Fell Into Your Shoes”, “Family System”, or “Piñata”. Thanks for the reaction. Subscribing!
Anything from their latest album would be great. His vocals are phenomenal in my opinion on the new album. It's called Niratias. Endlessly would be a great place to start for analyzing the vocals. Rock on!
@@wardamn3agle their following is relatively small when compared to other bands in the same genre as indicated by their social media and sales numbers. But I wouldn't expect you to understand numbers with your small little brain.
Could you please react to "So Cold" by Breaking Benjamin? The lead singer has a very cool unique voice that I think you'll LOVE!! Or if you wanna do another Chevelle, "The Red" is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!
Please do Architects - Royal Beggars, the live version. Sam Carter has an absolutely amazing voice, and his false chord screams are some of the best in the industry ❤️ Love the vids
A comparison one tends to make until you actually pay attention to the differences between tool and chevelle and realize that they are completely different.
Check out their songs "Shameful Metaphors" and "Clones". The day-to-day Chevelle fans won't mention those tracks. Also, Chevelle covered "Black Boys on Mopeds" by Sinead O'Conner if you want to hear another side of them. Chevelle admits that TOOL is an influence, but their real point of comparison is the Alt Metal band Helmet. As far as I know, Chevelle hasn't covered TOOL but they have covered Helmet's "(High) Visibilty". Pete might remind you of Maynard but their music has the same lurching sound as Helmet.
Thank you, point number one was like a tool/helmet hybrid. Chevelle hit a spot in the 2000’s where they had a lot of success but if you listen to the newest album Niratias it goes back to some early roots. I fucking love the new album!
I love Chevelle's mood and tones. I have been playing for 30+ years and never spent much time playing cover tunes. But now I play many just to keep in shape... I play more Chevelle tunes than any other Band! This is my favorite to play along with Face to the Floor. This actually has a swing to it.. and I play 2 leads over this as well. I will lay down a version of my play along and send it to you. I dig your style and evolution into Rock/Metal.
Love the Reaction but one needs to experience Several Chevelle songs to Get It Always Loved Chevelle’s Sound Check out Family System Send the Pain Below The Clincher
Che’ velle’ lul top 5 bands for me, the point number one album was a early tool clone. More metal and more straight forward as early tool was. Tool moved forward chevelle stuck with that sound and worked around it with great success.
I feel like I’m in an abusive relationship where I hope that you will review Spiritbox Rule of Nines, Studio one take and I get my hopes up only to be dashed but since I love you I can’t leave. I’ll even beg for some Jinjer Teacher Teacher to tie me over.
HI, BUDDY! YOUR CHANNEL IS AMAZING AND I HAVE ENJOYED YOUR CONTENT VERY MUCH. THAT'S WHY I HAVE A SPECIAL SUGGESTION FOR YOUR REACT-VIDS: I'D LOVE IF YOU REACT TO THE 2021 OSCAR NOMINATED SONG “IO SÌ (SEEN) [ITA/ENG VERSION]” FROM THE MOVIE “LA VITA DAVANTI A SÉ (THE LIFE AHEAD)”, PERFORMED BY THE WONDERFUL VOICE OF LAURA PAUSINI. THE MESSAGE IS SO BEAUTIFUL, I HOPE YOU ENJOY IT. P.S.- THIS SONG IS ALSO AVAILABLE IN 5 SEPARATED LANGUAGES: ITALIAN, ENGLISH, FRENCH, SPANISH AND PORTUGUESE.
I hate the Tool comparison other than they are very talented. There is one song i think Pete sounded like maynard and you have to consider pete sings and plays the guitar. So one song Pete sounds like half of Tool.

Glad you're getting around to Chevelle, great band.
Chevelle is indeed named after the car, the lead guitarist/singer and drummer are brothers, and the Chevelle was their father's favorite car.

Yes to all those songs and would like to add Envy
Another couple additions: Face to the Floor, Hats off to the Bull, and Take out the Gunman

The line before the vocal inhale is “You ever tried to hold your breath?” So I’m sure that’s deliberately placed.

I never noticed the breaths he was taking before verses; thank you so much dude, that adds an entire new dimension to the song for me.
3 guys 2 vocalists… sound amazing live and one of my all time favorite bands- so unique & underrated. I dig how each song is a cryptic story

These guys always used to tour in my hometown. Free shows sometimes. They just wanted to rock.
That’s what I love about Chevelle, they just wanna play! One of my favorite bands
Had not seen you for a while. I'm glad you reviewed this!
Chevelle? Hell yea!
Yes! Ive been saying chevelle has a similar sound to tool.
Please check out breach birth by Chevelle, it is one of my favorite songs from them
Chevelle is a great band !
Chevelle: So long, mother earth.
Gotta do it.
Chevelle is my all time-favorite band, but alas, they get very little attention.
Maybe in your small little circle.

Very devoted following. They had the best set at our county fair of all of them so far and I've seen them twice. So awesome live.

"Day to day" fans would absolutely mention shameful metaphors
At first I got a few Tool vibes, then I got a dusting of Alice In Chains thrown in at the chorus when the harmonic layers come in.

You should react to Stitch’s 2021 solo beatbox wildcard it’s great and he has some really awesome vocal techniques

Why is it that these reactionist never have negative reactions.
Chevelle is better than tool
They have a couple better songs, like "The Red" or "point #1"
The red is fantastic
Notice the lead singer doesn't rhyme much? He writes that way on purpose.
How do you know that?
@@GalanDavilaJesusDavid I believe Pete may have talked about it here and there, but funny enough this song is pretty rhymey for Chevelle.
