Was watching you build a sb 220 from a kit. My dad and me did this in the mid 70's. My dad sold his and I currently have his sb1000. Wish I could find an unbuilt kit to relive the good times. But sometime in the future would like to buy my own sb220. Thank you it brings back memories.
Hello Fellow Amphaulics, Friends, And Supporters Of The World Famous BBI AMPS: Welcome back Luke. Thank you for another SB 220 amp video. All this baby needs is a little love for the master. Beautiful tubes Luke. God Bless, & my best to the family, TMP, Unit 22, from N.J.
Beautiful amplifier .Wish I could afford one .what variac are you using . I had a bad experience with one but the amazing thing was they sent me a whole new one for free .all it needed was a new brush the shipping company dropped the package and it landed right on the dial side and bent the shaft .it cracked one of the brushes .it was a 2kva model looks just like that one .Hope it lasts as long as my old one from the 80s
BBI Seriously, thank you very much for sharing these safty tips❤🙏🏽🙏🏽 I honestly appreciate it and wish you hard them more not only for my benefit it could save someone's life man❣ thank you sir 👍🏼😎👍🏼
Just a question for you sir how come you don't wear gloves when you handle the tubes won't body oils cause problems ?? Just thought I would ask any input would be appreciated tyvm
I usually use Windex to clean the sweep tubes off after handling them. I don't use rubbing alcohol so the print doesn't come off. I can't remember if my eimac 3-500's are at hex or are printed on.
@@Mister22x2 As long as you don’t use ammonia or alcohol the print should be fine. I just use a damp cloth to wipe the dust off. Fingerprints won’t hurt them. Happy DX from 567 Mn.
Riddle me this: I was always told to never touch a glass tube with your bare hands because the oils and shit from your skin would get on the glass and damage it when it heats up. Is that real or crap?
with all due respect 🙂, You are awesome keep the good work up and carry on! BTW me prick wouldn't reach the bench so i'll stick with the prick beater in the pocket thing. blame this bad humor on the morphine that is all. de WC4J
Found out that the former owner passed from cancer you should have seen it before I tried cleaning it with mild soap and water. Also the old man that owned it never used it on cb band. And to the new owner the Dicc wants his dam socks back 🤣

That’s just for halogen bulbs. Tubes are cooler.
