Allen Iverson 55pts FULL Highlights vs Hornets - Playoff Career HIGH! (2003)

- Of all the prolific offensive performances
in the opening games of this year's NBA playoffs, Allen Iverson's
was the best.
Not only that, it was one of the greatest in NBA playoff history.
Iverson scored 55 points Sunday night in a brilliant display of
shooting, making 21 of 32 shots while eclipsing his previous
playoff-high of 54 as the Philadelphia 76ers defeated the New Orleans Hornets 98-90.
"That was his best ever, by far,'' Philadelphia coach Larry
Brown said.
Iverson scored 20 in the fourth quarter to help his team hang
onto the lead throughout the final 12 minutes of a closely
contested, physical game.
Iverson joined Michael Jordan, Rick Barry, Charles Barkley, Wilt
Chamberlain and Elgin Baylor as the only players to score 55 or
more in a playoff game. Jordan holds the NBA record of 63.
"When I'm out there on the basketball court in front of 20,000
people, and I'm making shots and they're into it and jumping up and
cheering, that's what I get the goose bumps from,'' Iverson said.
"Because I know when these people leave this arena, that might be
something they'll cherish for the rest of their life.''
The fans weren't the only ones cherishing it.
Iverson's coach and teammates were in awe, as were the Hornets.
"The only player I've ever seen play like that was Michael
Jordan,'' Derrick Coleman said.
"It's right up there with Mike's 63,'' Hornets coach Paul Silas
said.
"It was the single-best performance I've ever been a part of,''
Philadelphia's Keith Van Horn said.
During the first seven games of the postseason Saturday and
earlier Sunday, there was a 46-point performance by Dirk Nowitzki
of Dallas and a 43-point outing by Orlando's Tracy McGrady.
Iverson outdid them by a bunch, hitting nearly everything he
tossed up with the exception of a stretch of five consecutive
misses during the third quarter.
"He must've been watching TV all day, watching all those young
gunners putting up those numbers -- and he had the last game in
prime time,'' the Sixers' Aaron McKie said.
This man had so many outside distractions and issues in his personal life and still went on that court and played every game like it was his last . I am blessed and thankful to have grew up watching him play . My all time favorite player ever
wdym what issues he had?
@@mys9948a lot of
This is a prime example of a person that the world wanted him to fail since the Bowling alley incident. But he overcame and succeeded, there are people that want you to fail - But it's up to you whether or not you want to succeed or not.
Best basketball player ever. No one played or plays like this. NO ONE
He played like this against teams were 90 percent to all of them had great physical advantages over him.

Absolutely capitalized on offensive opportunities. 1st game of the 1st round of the playoffs. Wow.
Killing em...from outside
@Roosevelt Darbey Underrated jump shooter
Still my favorite player ever. Best little man in the league’s history
This man isn't a beast, that would be an insult. He is a man from another dimension.
Still get chills,He damn sure got Footprints in the NBA
Hot take: This game is arguably more impressive than the 01 Finals game.
Against a worse opponent (but still a top ten defense) he shot 20% better from the field, scored more points, and got more assists in a game that didn’t go into overtime, so in fewer minutes.
@@fortynights1513not a bad take, but giving the Lakers their only L in that postseason single handedly was a big deal.
I still remember these golden days. Thank you, Allen!
Inversions packages including heigh percent fadeaway shoot, hop step , incredible layup and unlimited energy.
A.I. was ready for the Hornets. I still remember this game like it was yesterday. A double nickel on the hornets was one the best performances from Allen Iverson.
He was on fire love when he played like that
man I miss this guy, soo awesome to watch! thanks penny!
Just an unstoppable player!!! Period!!!
pennyccw! Whoever you are, You're a legend.
One of his best performances ever. I will never forget this game!
This man was so relentless
When AI caught his rhythm the Sixers were unstoppable, Great Upload Penny!

thank you for posting this
This video gave me goosebumps ai is so talented quick and tough amazing,, you will always be remembered
Greatest Player without a ring! But He's a legend! So he did'nt need it..!
55pts 8ast 4reb 2st....Fuck the Best "Lil man" Ever...The Best Player EVER!....and they(Stern & Execs) Never let him Shine as Bright as he could have
Love that pump fake lay-in at 2:00 . Such a fundamental move, most today players would probably attempt one handed dunk, and they would get swatted.
THE ULTIMATE WARRIOR!!!
Thanks Penny
This man was a certified killer at 6'0.. in a league full of giants.. nothing but respect
He isn’t 6ft. I sat next to the guy whose girls did AI’s hair, there was 2 of them and he brought me down to shake his hand once and he was easily 4 inches shorter then me and I’m 6’2 on the nose.
@@christianburk2432 he is 6’0 I’m 5’10 he was taller than me
@@drayday9446 my man I literally was right in front of him and shook his hand. We will agree to disagree but I know as a fact that he isn’t 6ft and there are numerous players who have said the same thing. I’ll go with what I know and actually saw and what players have said over some dude making comments on UA-cam
Some people complained that AI shot too much. With the cast of players around him, who would you want shooting the ball?
People don’t understand just how hard it is to get that many shots up in a game and not just a few games it was night after night. I honestly don’t think I’ll see another one like him in my lifetime. He is the most unique player ever imo
@@christianburk2432 --Agreed! To me he will be pound for pound. Lb 4 Lb the best player, the toughest, most electrifying. Most enjoyable to watch.
I feel if Webber would've went to the Sixers earlier that would've been a perfect balance of defense and offense to get them a championship
@@troylee4196 --Yeah, I feel ya on Webber. I've often said similar about Webber. It just seems philly's front ofc wasn't committed to getting Iverson consistent offensive help.
Best lil man to ever play the game!
I want an away 76ers jersey of Allen Iverson. It suited so him well.
The legend
Commentator - "Iverson takes a beating...and keeps coming back for more"
Ohh how I miss watching this man play he use to take beating every night it amazes me looking back and seeing how he put the numbers he did for so many years ; imagine what he would do in this league today lol
I really appreciated his commercial when I was a kid. Showed how many injuries he’s had. I got an academic scholarship instead of getting hurt again
That Hornets team was DEEP TOO
Great video, thank you for posting it.
😂😂 at 10:10 when he yelled yes thats how my mom used to scream yes when Iverson was cooking
That Iverson cut is so beautiful.
Penny, you ain't never disappointed. Would love it if you got to interview AI
bro why he so cold! AI always been that guy!
I was at this game…….the best nba game I’ve ever been to
With out another allstar on his team Iverson is behind MJ in Playoff points average!! Iverson is the true 🐏 G.O.A.T
That's my guy
Like in one motion catch and shoot...nice
AI is just a miracle!!!
Fuck, I was 20 years old at the time, and I remember watching this game like it was yesterday. Kids, I'd like you to meet AI. The greatest pound-for-pound player ever! /GK
One man show!! Hornets clearly had no answer for the answer!!!
“When he jukes and jigs and his pants are falling off” -the announcer 😂
Viva Iverson 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Great, great A.I.
This is the NBA playoff game should be
Allen Iverson is the best
A.I. The Goat!
At the end of the game he was 21 of 32 at half time Allen was 12 of 21 he only missed 2 shots whole 2nd half while shooting jump shot after jump shot not only lay ups plus 3s with 20 in the 4th . Imagine in today's nba who would stop this guy ? Everyone is saying curry this and that yah curry is good 3 point shooter but mid range and taking it in with today's rules where u can't touch him with basically small lines ups most teams are playing with I bet you iverson would be dropping 50 ppg every other night and most likely he'd avrg 40ppg easy if not more . Back then guy was shooting 10 free throws a game , and back then u could actually defend and put hands and body on ppl now like i said with nba soft as it is he would be much faster then everyone else and u can't touch him my god he would also avrg 20 free throws a game easy . Back then centers Shaq , D Robinson with Duncan , Barkley , Eweing just to name a few couldn't stop iverson takin it in , you guys think one Zaza could ? Or Adams ? No way iverson was born too early man I wish u played in today's NBA , currys ankles would be long gone by now as s we saw when you played when he first came into nba . Now everyone is saying how he's the best shooter ever how ? Cuz he shoots like 16 tress a game of course he'll make more then payers before him what about miller and ray ray Allen what if they had freedom to shoot 16 3s a game ? I bet u they would have better % then curry .
Elmedin Djuderija I bet not if curry was a pull up jumper like reggie and Allen he would prolly be a 55% 3 pointer. Do you see the difficult shots that he takes beyond the three point line, his shots are more harder, farther and diifucult. I understand your point but have you seen his practice, his shot is automatic now, he easily makes 3's now man
@@goldendragon7853 there is a big difference about the game in ai's era and 2010s gane.
@@goldendragon7853 curry makes 48% on WIDE OPEN CATCH AND SHOOT shots. So definitely not 55% tho
One of the greatest players without a ring.
From Algéria we love u the answer!
The man was Relentless wit dat Roc
El maldito mejor de la nba.... Me toco ver absolutamente todos sus juegos...
PennyCCW & AI… 2 legends
Remember when people bitched at him for drama lol this dude is basketball! Not only that he changed the culture of basketball! Him and Barkley are my favor player of all time
PHILLY PHREAK!!! I totally agree with you Charles Barkley & Allen Iverson are just a handful of my favorite nba players and I still wear my Iverson jerseys. Barkley & Iverson are a few guys who were never afraid or backed down from anybody regardless of how tall or big they are
I miss watching these two guys
Literally carring the whole team on his back.
Watching these highlights, I sometimes wonder how things could've gone if they had gotten Chris Webber in 2001 instead of 2005
Sheesh that would have been crazy a healthy c-web
@3:23 Tyrone hill almost was almost arrested for involuntary manslaughter LOL
Лучший игрок всех времён!
Iverson had the offense and the rest of the team had the straps
10:17 no one else used to emote mid-game to the fans like a.i. did. They ain't have the COHONAS to do so! 💯
We talking bout practice
When his jumper was on. IT WAS A WRAP!
From Hong Kong 2021,just bought a pair of Answer 4
Ja Morant Lookin like he’ll be the next Generations A.I
thanks penny
Before this game he knew how he would ‘handled’ The Hornets
Shooting the lights out..
55 outta 98 pts is insane
unreal
My favorite nba player!!
Go Detroit
10:01 why did bro ask for a screen and not take it?
Wait nvm, maybe it’s because it would’ve been an easy switch on the other team
10:05 R.I.P. them ankles
That nigga was raw af.
Is it me or I feel like if you never received a nickname back in the back then you weren’t a goat 🐐
This is why I am not impressed with Steph Curry. Sports fans have such short memories
For real. Steph curry is a bum
Can't appreciate greatness
No lie Dee Pee they tend to forget
Very true my guy.....and how about this one.....I know you can vouch for this ,the team's truly played great defense and they were more tougher then the NBA is now which I think the game is soft as hell now
@@damedash3188 yep. every team had all star or a super star. today you see. teams with 5 superstar which is crazy.
New Orleans?
Noni yup
Trey sonz big brother!!

Wish I had a time machine.
Made Kenny Anderson look like a scrub. Incredible. K ANDERSON never got to reach his potential in the NBA they didn't let him New york it enough. All new York great guards can score .
Iverson is only 5’10”
TRUE

God has big plans for Iverson and his family.
