      In this case, idk why the Inquisition doesn't collect all chaos exposed soldiers and make a chaos fighting Imperial Guard regiment under their control. Spread a couple agents/special Inquisition commissars with the troops and there u go. No wasting human resources and you get an experienced fighting force that knows how to go to war against chaos.

      From what I've gathered part of it is that educating people about chaos is a double edged sword, as while yes it does better equip someone to deal with it, the knowledge itself increases the ability for it to influence them, think Lovecraftian great old ones, and things like the yellow sign. So it's kinda like toughness(knowledge) vs hardness(ignoranc), and since the imperium already had a lattice of people knowledgeable(though) and proven, they figured a fill if ignorant(hard) populace would make the better block

Knowledge of Daemons, and seeing them first hand, makes a person a bigger target and more likely to be corrupted. He has special rules for his terminator armor when on foot (you can also field him in his war sleigh). In the charge phase he can move much farther in a straight line. Or he used to be able to, he also ignored partial cover during that charge. Basically, if he could see you, he could be in your face any time he wants.

      GW can't decide with the wolves and their attitudes and natures flip flop depending on the writers. Sometimes they are playing 4d chess letting everyone think they are savage barbarians while really being quite level headed and possibly the most advanced of the chapters.
      i.e. almost cured their chapter flaw and it took a direct invasion of Magnus the Red to stop them from solving their wulfen issues followed by a badass 1v1 duel between Magnus and Bjorn. They also kinda just laugh at the codex astartes for their regular company organizations and tend to super pillage everything. Blood angels are noted for having a ton of dreadnoughts with like 34. Wolves have a vault containing a ton of them. They also have a bunch of wulfen outside of regular chapter organizations roaming the frozen wilds of Asaheim (failed recruits who went nuts and just roam the landscape) that they can and have called upon (Battle of the Fang). They are also notorious for capturing chaos crap and repurposing it Logan's axe IS a demonic weapon, they have a massive fleet to go with their viking asthetic because they keep stealing all their enemies crap. They also have like 8 ramilles star forts and one of them is usually considered enough to hold down a sector. Most other first founding chapters in combination with their successors might have 1 or 2. So yeah they are like super hoarders to go with that viking pillaging crap. Also developed a beer that just overcomes marine poison immunity.... thats something the inquisition has been trying to do for 10000 years with consistency or you find in a Dark Eldar specialist poison lab in either case a ton of resources got poured into such projects. The space vikings did it because they wanted to be able to get drunk....
      Other times they really are just a bunch of furry drunken space vikings and there is nothing deeper going on there. Coin flip per story to find out what they are actually doing.

    „Does your hubris know no bounds?“
    Seriously. The Inquisition, founded way after the Space Wolves, dared to know better than one of the most loyal first founding chapters. The sons of the man that, quite literally, was the emperor’s executioner.
    Just imagine if the Space Wolves fired back from the moment the Inquisition got too far up their own ass.

      The Wolves took the moral high ground, showing an amazing level of restraint and wisdom. I would expect that from Ultramarines, I admit I was surprised they kept their rage in check so long.

    • @TheRaidenLP
      @TheRaidenLP 2 роки тому +2

      @@guyver441 The Ultramarines probably wouldn’t have talked back to the Inquisition, at least not to this extend.
      Kinda curious how this would have gone down if it was the Salamanders or Lamenters that resisted the Inquisition.

    The more I read up on their doctrines and lore the more I believe The lion and Leman Russ were in fact twins with a similar roles independent of the imperium.
    Other than being both long blonde boys into sword play and a deep loyalty to daddy E were specialized to carry out specific tasks on this case to kill the enemies of the emperor that were too deadly to be done normally be it warp daemons op zenos or traitor astartes. Despite being visually distinct the Dark angels and the space wolves have way more commonalities Leman was savagely calm while Lion el Johnson was Calmly savage.

    Not gonna lie, I love this type of lore when it's around one inciting incident and feels accurate to the capabilites of the participants. Hope to see more of it even though it would be Primaris who I don't think would do anything to make people mad.

    The Inquisition did get a little bit of Revenge the next time Magnus showed up on Fenris. They showed up with a massive Fleet with a dozen chapters including Dark Angels. They almost completely destroyed the Fang and purged the vast majority of the native population.
