That's a ton of brake dust and dirt for only 4K miles! On the other hand, the convertible top looks like it has rarely ever been out of the top well.
The "Dyer & Dyer Original" dealer plate on the back is from a Volvo dealership in a northern Atlanta, GA suburb.
The reason for the brake dust is that the wheels were switched. The car came with chrome wheels but the correct wheels are original factory silver, which we found a set and exchanged them - hence the dust.
And way cool on the plate! Nice catch! Thanks for watching Kevin!
I own a W124 in the same color which my wife calls pink!! Thanks a lot guys!
The colour is called RubinRot 572, I absolutely love it.
Mercedes has such excellent colours that many conservative first owners don't choose prefering silvers and blacks, great when they survive on classics.
I own a 964 in RubinStern which is pink.😊
Absolutely love this color 😍😍 thanks for sharing fellas 🫡
@@marcusott2973 Was this color, RubinRot 572, a factory color on these cars. I have the factory 560SL brochures and i don't remember seeing this color offered in 1988 or 1989(it's final year).
I don't know what it is about the dry ice cleaning process but I never get tired of watching it. Not sure if it is as enjoyable actually doing the work but for the viewer it is extremely satisfying. Great work as always on this one. If I am ever in a position to own a vehicle worthy of your services I will definitely send it your way. Thanks for another great Sunday video.
Wow .... what an incredible change. For an older vehicle although very low mileage, you have transformed into showroom condition. "Stunning" is the only adjective I can think of ... I never get tired of watching these posts.😎
We really appreciate that! Make sure you subscribe so you dont miss any of these video ;)
This beautiful automobile looks as good today as it did when it first came out! Very sporty. It goes without saying that your transformation has just quadrupled the value! I know this car! I was the mercedes tech that worked on it. That car spent a very long time parked up in the original owners garage. I ended up replacing the camshafts because they rusted from sitting.
Stunning work as usual 😮
Yep, that's all they do.
My god this is a pretty car. Well done on its flawless detailing!
You guys never miss!!!!
Thanks for the support Gary!
Again beautiful work!
A beautiful and rare ruby, extremely polished by skilled hands!!! This jewel shines again in all its splendor, congratulations!!! Greetings from Brazil!! 😊👏👏👏
Magnificent job👏🏾
Thanks for this video showing teams outstanding work with impressive results.
May be one of the best undercarriage jobs so far. It's kind of therapeutic to watch.
Odd color but the same fantastic result!
Thank you! Definitely am odd color!
Great work as usual right know 😊these benz never gets old and now looks like just leaving the dealership 🙏🏼👍🏻
Nice black Enzo at the end of the polishing 🤘😜
It’s just hiding back there ;) thanks for watching!
love to see these kind off cleaning, however in my oppinion you should aplly wax in order to protect again all inside and bottom areas.
We apply a protective coating to every car we dry ice clean. Depending on the owner’s wishes, we use either factory replacement Cosmoline, a modern rust protectant such as Waxoyl, or 3M clear matte wax
@@IAMDetailing when possible, try to post a video applying wax - this will also very nice to see.
thanks for your wonderfull videos
I want one of these cars 😫
Me toooo
With dry ice cleaning you remove also under protection wax. It will be corrosion in a very short while...
Yes, they should wax it again, otherwise this jewel will become a rust bucket.
When cleaning the underneath are you not taking the factory coating that was applied off ?
18:30 BRAND NEW!!!
Once cleaned and restored, it's back to the storage again to gather dust.
Beautiful job.
What year is the car?
Where can I buy that tire spinning tool for cleaning?
What’s the avg cost of doing detailing like this with dry ice cleaning??
Do you guys ever touch up little nicks and such in the paint??
Definitely! Just depends on the car, paint type, owner’s request, etc. sometimes its best to keep it all original, especially with a rare color
❤🌹
Is this car for sale?
Probably the original tires that came off it
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🏆
19:05: looked like he was going to run into other car (no rear view camera) but he's good!
4K miles?! Is it a 40 year demo?!
the Us bumpers are an insult to this car.
Looks great. Shame about the ugly bumpers
Everyone always hates on our American bumpers 😔
These ugly bumpers are beauty!!! Amazing job guys 👌✌️🙏😉
Incredible, you removed all the cosmoline protected. This is factory applied to prevent corrosion, ive owed a original low mileage 450sl,380sl and 2 new 560sl’s over the years and in my opinion in no way with that much road buildup is that only 4k mileage perhaps 40k plus and im being kind, also why would you replace the dealer upgrade chrome wheels? While i understand the chrome weels are not factory produced they were a costly dealership upgrade, if the car was only 4k mileage the chrome weels should of been perfect, you could of offered the used ones you put on if the buyer insisted on factory original.
I know this car, I was the last guy who worked on it before this video was made. The car was stored by the original owner in less that optimal conditions. Wheels removed, car on blocks for about 20 years. One of the dealer employees remember pushing this car on the trailer because the original owner, Dr. Mylander, didn't want any miles put on the car. It sat so long the camshafts rusted up and I replaced them back in 2023. I still have the original cams in my shop.
That car had WAY too many imperfections to only have 4K on it. Honestly i have never seen one of these 560SL's in that pinkest color either. This car is totally suss.
I am the mercedes tech that maintained this car while it was still in south Carolina. Sold at my dealer new. It's legitimate. It wasn't properly cared for while it was in storage for about 20 years.
@@WARTHUNDERPILOT21 I live in South Carolina. What dealership sold this vehicle new??? The rear dealership tag says Dick Dyer which i believe is in Columbia SC. What about this color? I have never seen this color in my whole life on any 560SL.
@klwthe3rd yes dick dyer sold it new to Dr. Mylander. He requested the car be pushed onto a trailer and delivered to his house. The car sat for a very long time until he took it out of storage and tried trading it back in to us. The number we offered was too low. He passed and the car was purchased by another gentleman who brought it back to us and I serviced all the fluids and replaced both camshafts because they were heavily pitted from rust. I still have the vin for this car saved and I can pull the paint code and name in the morning. I have pictures of this car with the cams out. The engine was literally brand new inside. When I test drove it after repair, it felt like I just drove a 2024 model year sl.
@klwthe3rd yes it was sold new at dick dyer in columbia. My good buddy Curran stone was the sales manager there at time time back when we still sold rolls royce. He remembers this car when it came in. Dr. Mylander bought it new and didn't want ANY excessive miles put on it. In fact, the car was PUSHED on the trailer to deliver it to him. One of our lot porters back then, who still works for us, was able to back his story up. He was one of the pushers. The car sat in his garage for about 20 years with the wheels off and the car on blocks or jackstands. He brought the car back to us after about 20 years and wanted to trade it back in. He did not like our offer and kept the car until his passing. The car was picked up in 2023 by another gentleman who brought it back to us, and I serviced all the fluids and found that the camshafts were heavily pitted from rust. He opted to replace the camshafts. I still have the original cams on my work bench in my shop.
you removed all the cosmoline from the underside of car, not too smart as it is a rust/corrosion inhibitor sprayed on at factory
my oh my you sure wasted a lot of time on the wheels and tires !
First!
🥱 Wow, how exciting for you Karen, your mom must be so proud of you ?.......
All time dirtiest wheels ever.
...and yea, I'd drive it. 😊
The reason for the brake dust is that the wheels were switched. The car came with chrome wheels but the correct wheels are original factory silver, which we found a set and exchanged them - hence the dust.
