@gibsonman121 i knew this wasn't an Aerosmith original song, but never was interested in who wrote it until now, thanks for the link, he has great songs
This video is (well the whole concert) is a gem. Steven' looks at Joe at the beginning is priceless. And what'is incredible is that the lyrics are in accordance to the situation and Steven and Joe relationship..."You act like a prima donna....But i'll get through somehow..." PRICELESS
For anyone bitching about Steven fudging the lyrics, they were supposed to play Mama Kin, and Joe threw Steven off by starting this song. It wasn't part of the set list originally, but once Joe played the riff, they had to keep going.
Good performance . Loved this song as a kid in the 70s. I love old aerosmith . These guys get better with age in some ways . Joe sounded very good here.
I was reading a lot of background tidbits online recently, and one of the guys (either Brad or Tom) was quoted as saying this is "a Brown Sugar kind of song". I agree wholeheartedly.
I love how Steven scoffs after Joe interrupts the plan with an impromptu deep track. Almost like he was pissed like “seriously?! We didn’t rehearse this!”
The cool thing is chip away was written during the Jimmy Supra years, for those that are not aware , Steven and Joe had a fallen out and Joe had left to form the Joe Perry Project.... during those years ,My family being from Boston , and my dad actually met Joe outside of the radio station in support of the Joe Perry project..... cool
God bless the Rolling Stones and all their offsprings. (Faces, Little Feat, Aerosmith, Black Crowes, etc). No other band in history has a legacy of great rock n roll and influencing other great bands
It only appeared on Live Bootleg in 1979. Once the band left for Geffen Atlntic released the studio version as they tried to milk everything they still owned from Aerosmith that was still in their vaults.
I met the band at 1st with my girlfriend when they were staying at The Sebel Townhouse in Elizabeth Bay; Sydney; N.S.W., Australia. It was their 1st time going or " Playing " in the Continent. They played 1st in Canberra, Australia's " Capitol ". Well, trust me, Canberra isn't D.C. ! Then, they played in Sydney at The Entertainment Centre. It was Wednesday, October 9th. Google it, it may say the 10th or whatever. Who cares!! The PUMP album was 1/2 plated , like Young Lust( ?); Love in an elevator; etc. GREAT SHOW!!!! Then we're off to Melbourne; Adelaide; Perth; then back to Sydney. I was there in front of The Southern Cross Hotel when a few " buses " pulled up, & Steven; Joey; Tom; Joe ; & Brad got out. We talked just for 1-2 minutes; they were REALLY tired; then somehow, which I'll NEVER forget, the 5 of them got into an elevator ( small one ). Then
I next saw Aerosmith front row at Fiddler's Green in Greenwood Village- South of Denver off of I-25. After the show/concert, I was back stage with fans and myself-A HUGE fan!!!
Shame this song never got the attention it deserved. One of their best from what was far and away their best era.
tmx63 totally agree! My favorite Aerosmith song.
gibsonman121 Wow. Learn something new. Thanks. This version rocks.
@gibsonman121 i knew this wasn't an Aerosmith original song, but never was interested in who wrote it until now, thanks for the link, he has great songs

Apparently rehearsal wasn't needed bc the boys killed it.
Americas greatest rock band. A song they've played a million times. Joe through Steven a curve and he hit it out of the park.
