It was a great contest in Shanghai, with Japanese protégé Onodera Ginwoo and veteran Chris Joslin stepping onto the podium, but it was the Jagger Eaton show as the American took home top spot to finish in the top three for both street and park! That wraps up this stop of the Olympic Qualifier Series but stay tuned for the next edition in Budapest from June 20-23!

@@andreasgustafsson375 when you have been skating since 12-13 and throwing hard down rails and stairs your body can only handle so much. 28 with what he’s accomplished and still going really big is impressive. A lot of pros aren’t throwing down big stuff much anymore. They start dialing it back.

That was a great showdown. We've come a long way from Nyjah winning every contest.
3 completely different styles. I personally think Joslin was most fun to watch.

Jagger's style makes Ginwoo's look better. Joslin put on a clinic. Every single trick was absolutely incredible.
Don't agree, Jagger is strong and athletic, love his unique beast style... His tricks are extremely clean ...

I'd say that ginwoo seems to have a very kid style still. I'm sure when he gets taller the tricks will look exponentially cleaner.

Once ginwoo learns switch, it's game over, seems to be the only reason jagger wins

Is there a plan to switch up the coverage model for when the actual Olympics are going on? I could not find reliable information on when this event was happening, where to watch it or a broadcast of the full event at all. This highlights video wasn’t even available until 2 days after the event, and by then it was all over who had won the event so not really a point in watching it

Absurd. Onodera being totally ROBBED. Hes two steps beyond any other fellow. Much more difficulty and precision in all his turns.
Wrong, skaters get docked from repetition. You can't just do front blunts, back tails and front boards and expect to win an Olympic event. He's still too young and hasn't developed his trick selection yet.
Ginwoo is the king of repetition, hes seriously gotta start learning some different tricks outside of the 4 he does

Y'all Hatin on Jagger. Yuto beat him fair and square at X Games. He's not losing to JinWoo and Joslin NEVER wins but he always shines. That BS Flip 5-0 down the 9 definitely beats a blunt to varial. He flipped and 180'd BEFORE the grind.... If he didn't do that one trick he loses. He 180'd into a 50-50 in his run 🤯 Y'all are hating

Ginwoo is mind blowing. Im curious to see as he gets older, bigger and heavier whether can he still manage those quick feet flip in/ flip out tricks, or whether thats a function of him being a tiny prodigy

Ginwoos run alone should’ve been like a 98/99. Big flip front board shuv is like a 93/94 on its own. Kid is truly amazing. Judges are a disgrace
This is a perfect example of what’s wrong with contest skating. Ginwoo and Joslin couldn’t be more different in terms of style (it’s practically a different sport). And yet, someone still has to make a determination as to who is “better”.

It's insane how he's ranked world no 1 at his age. Is this normal? I mean I understand prodigies in something like chess, but street skateboarding looks like a majorly practice sport to me.
Joslin stomped that s*** at 9:52, but his trick at 8:53, biggest flip trick over a rail to flat in competition?
I would rather it be a single trick jam format so these guys can really throw down their best attempts.

Jagger is an incredible skateboarder. I personally prefer to see him ripping in the park, but he can do both so well.
No way ginwoo wins jagger didn’t get off his board but once one his 92.55 run. That matters a lot in competition now a days. Go #USA
Not getting off the board shouldnt matter, who cares, judges maybe do but that shows why the judges are whack, supposed to be about the tricks and skill.

Joslin is robbed on his second run and first best tricks, he does higher, riskier, better, more diverse and still technical tricks and has lower scores than Eaton and Ginwoo... Wrong notation system here...

Doing tricks in switch gives extra points. In that way he games the system.
Jagger does hes unique tricks. Judges likes that.
I skated with a kid when I was growing up who looked like switch both stances when he was developing; messed with my head for a year or two until he found his style (and, I suppose, stance lol)

Ginwoo was robbed multiple times.
The judges always under scoring Jinwoo's tricks. He does the gnarliest stuff and continues to get low 9's. Messed up.
Jagger eaton has the worst style ever, he's not even fun to watch, looks like a basketball player on a skateboard
You can tell none of the other skaters like Jagger. He seems like a spoiled DB.
Based on these few short clips of him? It’s always cool to see camaraderie between skaters, though him being distant doesn’t necessarily mean he’s a db who the other skaters dislike.

nah dude, ginwoo cant do switch tricks, jagger is a more complete skater, even Joslin is, maybe Ginwoo will be better in a near future, but not by now. If you analyse Ginwoo´s tricks, he did variations of the same trick, front blunt to flip out, front blunt to big flip out, he always do the same, front board bigflip, bs tail shove out, and similar combinations, just a variation of the same trick...

@@95mcqueen5 Judging the difficulty of tricks is a bit subjective, I personally think that a SW FS blunt, for example, is more difficult than an FS blunt kickflip out, but let's leave that to the judges. In SLS if you do combinations of repetitive tricks you get penalized for example.
@@S1RBR4N anything that have people judging is surely subjective, for me the fs blunt varial flip out is way more difficult. And in SLS Jagger would be deducted by the repetition, because he been doing the same stuff for while now. Not that it is easy though
