I really liked the former version but for some reason I've become OBSESSED with this one, I've been listening to it nonstop since it got released. In the bridge there is an added instrument which makes the vibe darker, it gives me (positive) chills. There is something about the voice as well, I don't really know what's the difference but I like it better in this version too
Sound to me they only increased the bass. Mind pointing out which part you found a new instrument in?

Very interesting version. I really like that the vocals overall sound clearer and less processed. Very cut back on distortions and layering. Makes the vocal performance very clear and readable.
I also like how punchy the bass and the drums are. They're very prominent throught the whole thing and give everything a stronger rhythm.
In general i would describe this version to be much more front heavy. It's easy to focus on what's important and the background is even further back. That is something that i noticed about most of the songs from the album so far. Very strong and forward coming front with very little emphasis on the background. So i'm assuming it's a stylistic choice to bring the song in line with the album.
I do have to say tho that the full background is something that i really enjoyed about the original version. It just sounds like there is something missing without the synths in the pre-chorus and chorus or the violins in the bridge. You can still hear them somewhat but the instrumental parts are so stuck in my head that i can't help but feel like there's simply something missing.
I was thinking of leaving a comment as well, but hoesntly, you managed to articulate what I was feeling a lot better than I could.
Totally agree. It doesn't sound as rich as the original. The background synths added more depth and punch, especially during that breakdown into the chorus. I much prefer the original and it's one of my favorite songs of theirs.
Totally agree, im sad that this will end up on the albums, but personally none of their new songs are of my liking anyway. Stoltz leaving is felt
@@FearBoo For me it's a hit and miss. Some of the new album songs i really enjoy, some less. I like that they're experimenting with something new even if it's not always my taste. Also Stoltz is still making music in case you didn't know. I'd suggest you check it out if you like his music.

on the first watch, it feels like getting rid of controlling people, specifically friends and/or bad influences, in your life? but also other equally important themes, like the circle of life (BIIG ONE, seeing as that pendant in gonna be passed onto the new one and on, and on), shapeshifting, growing up, some more things that i would need to learn to see but to see i need to learn. i am sure there's 70% of more depth i've looked over. wonderful creation. like a warm bath you wanna sink into.

I really like this version, I think it puts more of an emphasis on the vocals while still letting the backing instruments shine in a lot of places. I loved the old version too, but I do think this is really good in new and interesting ways

As one of the people who's been listening since The Wolf, your music has been a part of my life through all the good and bad I've come across. I did not always get the message of the song until years later, but I believe you've truly helped me and so many people in a similar journey heal from our past.
The release of this video sparked something in me that lead to me taking the final step and truly accepting myself and everything that's happened to me in my journey. I hope your music continues to find the people who need it. I'll be sharing it to anyone who's willing to listen
I've watched this a few times since it came out and while I usually have at least some idea of what's going on in Siames animated videos, this one is a lot less clear. I know that they usually have an intended message while also being pretty vague and open to personal interpretation.
From what I'm seeing in the comments, other people seem to take this more literally than I do, seeing it as an allegory for social hierarchy or beauty, meanwhile I see it as an abusive relationship.
Despite the bright colours, amazing looking food, and all the rest of it, the first half of the video isn't happy, but she's "better this way". The story steadily declines until it becomes a literal bloodbath, and then we finally come to a Confrontation. She's not better this way. She has to live her own way. Our first girl cuts the abuser out of her life and has to build herself back up before she and her one remaining friend are able to smile again. I see a tale of life, struggle, and growth. I see innocent bystanders getting caught in the crossfire. I see a message that things can get better.

I loved the original one so much more, it felt fuller and real. The layering and how balanced everything sounded made it easy to groove to. This version feels empty and like something corporate-approved. The video is awesome though, we love the whimsical and beautiful art!
We feel you; it's hard to hear a different version after years of listening to the previous one and getting used to it, but for us, this works so much better with the rest of the MELODRAMATIC album. It will be included in the Vinyl edition!

Her singing skills are really top notch and this type of song with the old type animation really makes it good.
Of course for me the best of the best is Wolf and Alone in the Darkness but still very well done
Siames, my friends and I agree that we would buy any art books you release about your music videos with any and all story board notes you'd want to include.
At first I felt the previous version is objectively better, but there's something about getting used to it so much and then this version lacking certain notes that my brain anticipates makes it so good I can't stop listening.

To me the OG version fits the video better. It tells the story better for me. The OG sounds more natural, mythical kind of vibe. This one though will definitely sounds better live, or how live ver should sounds like.

Ok like I know everyone's take is that this is about conventional beauty but I really don't feel that. Not at all?.
What seems to be taking place here is a ritual, the three pretty girls vs the two mundane girls, they aren't forcing beauty on her they are preparing her for a ritual!
They are the deers and the two other girls are the unknowing sacrifices hense why they are represented as Rabbits, they are disposable fuel. When they are killed the confrontation is not her murdering the blonde girl it out of retaliation she is killing her as a step in the ritual. And instead of simply casting her aside they're powers merge and become stronger.
That said what does this mean to me?
The song is about ideals, and how the unique but impressionable and weak often get cannibalized merely for being that weak, and how the to uncreative strong and unsympathetic /cold often prevail and prey on this to succeed.
and more often then not it takes a mindset willing to consider both (the merging at the end) ends of this spectrum to make a difference in the cycle.
Her two friends only cared about the ritual but she seemed sympathetic and a change as small as that meant now that she assended she would do the coven her way.

I did really enjoy the synth being more up-front and center stage throughout the song, but this is excellent as well. The bass seems more hefty this way too~ Kind of refocuses the song into just the bass and lyrics like this.

I honestly believe that this (the music video at least) represent the chain and passing of trauma. The hunt that we see our main character participate in clearly doesn't look to be the first time she does it. 0:39 & 1:25 She's wearing the same earring as the girl she chases. This part may indicate that she was once invited to a picnic like the other girls were by the blonde, with the intention of being mauled but managed to come out on top with her life and only losing a hand as shown by her scar 0:44 .
2:52 One the dresser, the necklace can be shown having been worn previously by two other women besides the protag and the blonde. The necklace has most definitely been taken after each of these women confronted the other in a possibly similar fashion like our main girl. Defeating the other.
2:52 I think the blonde one (on the pic) is the same person. But the black-haired one definitely seems different, especially because of the hairstyle.

Both versions are amazing! The previous one feels more energetic, however this one has a much darker atmosphere behind it which brings more immersion into the lyrics and overall feel. Your music is really awesome🔥

@@allansmic4363 Very cool! Siamés are a comfy band and get quite close to the audience. There was a lot of cosplayers too and they got to take a picture with the band at the end.
I love the presence of the drums, bass, and vocals on this version. However, when listening in the car or through speakers, the rest of the instrumentals become much more difficult to hear. If the original version had the clarity and instrumental quality that this version has it would be the best of both worlds.
got you, but it wasn’t the intention to get the best of both worlds. we tried to bring it closer to the sound of the rest of the album, recording real drums. a new bass and mixed by a different producer. When listening to Melodramatic full album will probably make more sense to you. thanks ✨
