Glad you enjoyed it. You can easily gain as much as 25 yards by going with a longer cranking rod designed for really slinging, coupled with a quality reel and a lighter line like the 12 pound fluorocarbon used in this video. Full products used listed in the video description.
No. I think in shallow water, being able to stop and be totally silent is still preferred. The Ultrexx will be the answer to holding in deeper water without an anchor, like fishing deep humps, ledges, and other offshore spots.
Hi Andrew, our mistake, the rod is actually a Megabass Orochi XX 7'5'' MH Extreme Mission Type F Casting Rod (goo.gl/LKGvGa) with the new Team Lew's Custom Pro Speed Spool SLP Casting Reel (goo.gl/i4HM3Y). The rest of his setup is listed in the video description. Have a good one.
who here thinks that cast at 0:26 was totally skill!
yeah
I love fall fishing, especially for smallies.
very informative!! Thanks!
awsome vid!
Really liked this vid for some reason. How much yardage could I expect going from a MH 6'8" rod to a longer MH rod?

Does having an Ultrex make power poles obsolete?
not quite. power poles make no noise. spot lock requires the trolling motor to stay put.

What size duolock snaps do you recommend?
Size No 1 is the size he used in this video: goo.gl/ESuiWQ
Can anyone tell me what rod he has?
