What the point of it if you need to move it 20cm from the wall ???

First and foremost, because it is much easier to keep the bathroom clean with such a system. There are no silicone lines or little gaps in the floor where dirt and bacteria can gather and thrive - but also because it just looks sooo much nicer and cleaner. In germany actually most people do have this type of toilett.

In this animation, they show moving it 20 cm from the wall if you MUST use the pre existing drain. Otherwise, the Geberit in wall system fits in standard US 2”x4” inch wall frame (5 x 10cm), or a 2”x6” wall frame (5 x 15.25cm). You will need to purchase the Geberit 2x4 or 2x6 system. ❤

so the space you have by having the tank in the wall is taken up by all the dead space behind the new wall. not sure what the value proposition is here other than aesthetics if you want the wall hanging toilet.

it's still shorter than a standing in front of the wall toilet (I believe it saved 6 inches easily). I installed 2 in my house in Canada. And YES, it's prettier and also easier to clean around; in this case, UNDER it.

Just so you know. A model made for a 2x6 wall. Needs the pipe to be 1/2” from the back of the 2x6 NOT THE MIDDLE! Why they don’t tell you this, I don’t know.
