You are right, the protection cover is missing in this video at this sequence. We removed it due to the fact we need to measure out the pipe. Due to the length of the video we haven't put it back.
So no mechanical attachment to the floor for the bowl? I am not sure with modern building standards that a dead level floor can be found to keep this bowl from torquing as the user gets up and down.
There will be a need for floor mounted brackets to be installed before mounting of the ceramic. There will be differences between the different floor standing ceramics available. We decided not to show it.

Installation instructions say that the Monolith has to be positioned near a wood frame, but since anchor screws are being used, I assume it doesn't actually have to be attached to studs? There just has to be studs behind it?

Is this a European type of toilet...? Why would anyone feel the need to reinvent the toilet... If it’s not broke don’t fix it! This would just cost ppl a ton more money in plumbing bills compared to a regular toilet, & why would anyone want to do that. I’m a plumber and can replace a toilet in 25 minutes but this thing will take hours to install!

В России слив канализации для унитаза диам. 100мм всегда находится перпендикулярно к полу, а в Германии, насколько я понял, смотря канал одного плиточника, слив находится горизонтально, образно говоря-это дыра в полу))))
Не дописал. Обратите внимание на белую пластиковую гофру, которая уходит в пол и вы все поймёте, что её замена на жёсткую прямую трубу решает вопрос, как это сделано на обычных инсталляциях
В этом видео представлено решение, как быстро модернизировать устаревший напольный унитаз. Решение не дешевое и больше подходит для немецкого рынка, где отвод канализации в пол. Что качается "дизайна", то модуль Monolith имеет многожество наград за дизайн и инновацию. Безусловно, если вам "проще", и клиенту больше нравится другой вариант - решение за вами. I was wondering, since the water connection is hidden behind the frame, how would I go about installing a bidet toilet seat and connecting the water? Basically the Geberit Monolith is for replacing a standard pre wall cistern and to cover all technical parts within the housing. So if you have a concealed cistern then a Geberit Design plate could be of interest to cover the technical stuff. Please contact the local Geberit Support for a more precise answer.
Thank for your critical comment and basically you are right, without an increased design demands, a floor-standing WC can be installed easier. Just a few remarks… Please do not underestimate all the minor topics such as hidden freshwater access, adjustable flush- and waste water solution, and adjustability in height and to a uneven wall, which are included in our Monolith system in order to be prepared for an easy and safe installation. With our Monolith system, the typical wall gap behind floor standing WC is closed and therefore the final system is much easier to clean. This improved cleanability is visible, easy to understand and therefore a clear advantage.

You're right, and you know what? I'm a plumber too, and here in Italy this kind of cistern costs more than 500 €, onestly, a lot.

Basically the Geberit Monolith is for replacing a standard pre wall cistern and to cover all technical parts within the housing. So if you have a concealed cistern then a Geberit Design plate could be of interest to cover the technical stuff. Please contact the local Geberit Support for a more precise answer.

Why?....just why?...fast install, easy? Standard toilet 2 bolts and water supply...done.
Thank for your critical comment and basically you are right, without an increased design demands, a floor-standing WC can be installed easier.
Just a few remarks… Please do not underestimate all the minor topics such as hidden freshwater access, adjustable flush- and waste water solution,
and adjustability in height and to a uneven wall, which are included in our Monolith system in order to be prepared for an easy and safe installation.
With our Monolith system, the typical wall gap behind floor standing WC is closed and therefore the final system is much easier to clean.
This improved cleanability is visible, easy to understand and therefore a clear advantage.
