Hello Dale Philip, HORAS. Thank you for appreciating every corner of the beauty in Lake Toba a gift that God entrusted to the Batak tribe I see your every trip to tele view, you are very happy ... we are happy for your happiness In the middle of your journey, you stop at a funeral accompanied by a traditional Toba musical instrument called "Gondang". Not all of the funeral ceremonies in Batak land can be accompanied by traditional music such as "Gondang". That is usually when someone dies and all of their descendants are married and have grandchildren of their children who are called "Saur Matua" in the Batak Toba language. Meanwhile, for those who die young or have not married offspring, such an event is not made just an ordinary funeral attended by relatives and church officials. all of their descendants will follow the "Gondang" procession with Batak dances and Batak customs thank you Dale for capturing this beautiful moment, you are cool 😀

We dance Tor Tor, traditional dance on funeral, marriage, parents 80th birthday or wedding anniversary. To be grateful. Ulos given as blessing to receiver. I am happy you mingled with Batak people and its culture. Unfortunately, different with Bali people, Batak people in the village are not able to speak english. In Indonesia as a rice-eater country, you can find the 'Nasi Putih' menu in almost every common restaurant. But we never ordered one without the other side dish, so we order like a Nasi Putih with Ayam Goreng (fried chicken) or the other. And in that composition, we call 'ayam goreng' as the 'lauk' or the closest translation in English is the side dish. Indonesian people eat Nasi Putih with a Lauk in almost every of their meal. The Lauk is something that can make the Nasi Putih tasty (since a white rice only would have a plain taste), so almost all of the food like chicken, fishes, eggs, vegetables, can be considered as a Lauk. And in here if there is someone who ate a Lauk only without the rice would be an uncommon thing to see. So if you are planning to come to Indonesia again, a nice place to try to do this is the restaurant which the customer take the food by themshelves. Such as 'Restoran Padang' or 'Warung Tegal'. We call this such system as 'Prasmanan'. And there you can find a wide variety of delicious dishes. The good thing is you can see the food directly before taking it. But please make sure to check the prices before you take one, since mostly there wouldn't be any pricetag on it.

I really enjoyed watching this video. everything seemed to just flow. You seem to really enjoy your vacation, even though it looks very simple and may not be as good as other tours. I watched your video over the last few days in Indonesia, I like your personality in this video. I hope you can come back to Indonesia again. there are still many other places that are more beautiful than the one you visited first (Sumatra and Jakarta)
I watch your all the vedios, I like the way you interact with everyone.
Hello Dale - I am from Nepal. First of all many thanks for sharing such a beautiful videos. I am following your other videos of Indonesia trip. All are awesome. While looking the face of people of Indonesia, almost similar with Nepalese people. One think have you ever visited Nepal before? You are warm welcome in Nepal.
One day I will visit there.
